Nice walkthrough of the process! Awesome connection you built with the library. It just goes to show that treating people well (providing value/service) is a win-win.
@The Used Book Guy - Mike: You have a well organized system for funneling out your books. How many hours did it take you to process the books once you put them in your storage unit?
It took me around 5 hours. The time consuming part is 2nd & Charles I can only take 3 bins a day so I had to go 5 days in a row with 3 bins. The damaged/donate books took 2 trunk loads to the donation bins by me.
@@TheUsedBookGuy the #1 eBay advice I have for eBay is if you have a large lot of anything just look it up. It’s probably worth it every if they are worthless on their own.
@@josh_graff Yes I did that with last bunch it actually went well. This go around not to much and chicken soup can kiss my butt!! I did have a 299 and 100 dollar lot get completely destroyed by USPS and also has a wrong address after I shipped and media Mail doesn't cover return shipping. Great video. I am interested in doing bulk buying and would appreciate it if I can get a copy of your ads to place him in Craigslist down here in Texas. Thank you.
So awesome. All those books for $25. So much fun. I agree that the library must love you because you take them all, not pick through them. I sell all my total scummy duds to Half Price Books and one of the nice things about them is that they take them all. Filling up that storage unit!
For me this is your best video. Thank you. I sell on EBay and Amazon MF and have run out of space in my house. I am thinking about a storage unit, but I am worried about having a non climate controlled unit to store books for a long period of time. It looks like you are using your storage unit for staging only. Do you store any books in your storage unit for a long period of time and do the books do ok. I know that you are thinking about Amazon MF because of your restrictions from Amazon. Will you use your storage unit for long term storage of books? Thanks again for all of your videos!
I will be storing everything I have listed both on Amazon MF and eBay in the unit. Precautions I am taking is Polybag the old antique books once listed. I also have a unit that is not in direct sunlight and for the most part is in a great position. I know that sounds silly but the temperature fluctuations can cause damage so I would get a unit that gets sun at the very end of the day or the very beginning of the morning if possible. Also hold out for a cheap price on a unit, I should have gotten a unit months ago but held out and got a good deal on mine.
@@TheUsedBookGuy oh man take care. Looking forward to the video. I still have room but i got to now really watch myself, could even get worst closer to the holidays. For slower moving going strickly fbm/ebay for now on lol, until January.
Another good one, Mike! Love these ride along vids. Also, definitely agree with have a plan! I have a book funnel of sorts for my bulk buys. At the top of the funnel is the immediate decision to FBA or trash it (if it's unusable/salvageable). If the book doesn't go to FBA (or into the garbage), then it runs thru the funnel to see if it's profitable on other platforms or venues. With the very last stop in the funnel being the donation bin.
Yep it's important to have that funnel. I see it all the time everyone wants to get in bulk buy has no idea what to do with the 85% duds. It will crush your soul and business unless you have a plan!!

About 20-60 for 3 bins!!
and do they limit how much you can bring at once?
