And after you get the truck to the site, you pretend it’s the customers obligation to reinstall the drive shaft back together right?

Absolutely. The truck still has to be moved around the yard and whatnot, and also driveline hardware is one time use.

But you leave everything there for the customer to reassemble

@@Natural-Blooded that would be on the customer and yes the hardware is kept with the driveline.

@VikingSpiritMotors Great. So you guys are pretty familiar with the S60? Because I have a 2009 Columbia, DDEC 6, that I suspect has electrical issues. Maybe my ECM is reaching the end of its life. Are you guys able to deal with this sort of thing?

If you have a 12 point head that is stripped , wail on it will a 2 lbs. hammer and pound the socket onto it . Also on DDEC 5 , when cold and will not start heat the computer up with a 100 watt light bulb .

Dont think I've ever saw a cold computer issue before, I bet that is a pain to diagnose.

Just because your test light shows power doesn’t necessarily mean you have good power. Always load test the wires. You’re the guy that calls the ECM then when you install the new ECM it still won’t start. Have pulled many drive shafts with the impact without stripping and yes southern Ontario has lots of salt

Yes you’re totally correct to load test the wires. For the sakes of roadside though get it out of there. Also learned the hard way to break the bolts loose before the impact strips them, doesn’t happen every time though. Not sure how many you’ve pulled but I pull on average 3-5 drivelines a day for years now.
