great method! after having done for most of my life mindfulness meditation I felt naturally in what Loch calls effortless awareness, or No Self Mind. This method allows me to live in flow in every day life. thank you Loch for giving the world this wonderful practice!

James here I'm 38 from England and I've been on this spiritual path since 2019 ish. Thanks for this Loch, I've followed you since your first chat with Sam Harris. There was a unique pointer from you in that chat (approx 40 mins) that opened something up for me, I felt like the space of the room was conscious and it was aware of me....a very strange but pleasant experience. I've also had a similar opening after practising some Zen koans but it was very brief. I've listened to your chats with Sam over and over and over and conceptually i get it, besides one part. This backwards glance or turning attention around is confusing. My understanding is that we need to be aware of the scene as a whole which represents our experience. When the scene is contemplated as a whole you can switch from focusing on things to being amazed that this scene exists so dynamically where we'd expect our heads to be. However, you need to continue that recognition again and again and again, like you said 10,000 hrs and all that. Anyway I hope you read this and if I'm really on the wrong track please correct me. Cheers

"bridge the gap" is what makes sense to me. moving out with Self, open eyes, in the freedom yet not lost in exile energy, manager mind, neurosis activity. nice explanation. peace

great point about being Self led and in the flow doing what you love without acting from the ego or mind or any reactive and self limiting parts

(Don Salmon here) Beautiful evocation of Self by means of flow. I remember comparing notes with you many years ago, taking about how for you, it was things like hockey and tennis that brought you into flow, and music for me. Then, of course, there's "super flow," - spontaneously, effortlessly in flow in a stream, not "trying" to remain but simply it flowing out and flowing on without effort.... And I love the clarity of the conclusion - it's NOT the thing, the place, the activity otherwise, when the activity is absent, there seems to be no access to "Self' (though of course, maybe the idea of "finding" "access TO Self" could be part of the problem, keeping us from recognizing its - or Its! - ever presence!!
