The biggest scam I saw was willing to open locked containers for free, but if anything of value was in them, like from a quest, the guy would take the item an then put a crappy item in an return it to ya an log out.
You might have been surprised! I know there were at least a few players still doing this during 2009-2010. Aside from the 2006 release of the Complete Online Adventures Adventures it was also re-released as a digital download in 2007 and 2009 respectively. While perhaps not as common as earlier, it was definitely still happening on some servers at least.
now im not proud of this but i used to do the exact same thing but with the BARC speeder that came with ROTW, i used to hang around mos eisely and wait for new players help them out and offer to trade the BARC for the speeder from ROTJ they would also jump at the change to get that speeder because it was more recognisable
You were far from alone in these types of dealings. The good and bad actions players made all contributed to what is now the history of the game. Thanks for chiming in.
And you are one of the scammers I see.....Why would you even want to bring misery to someone and ruin their experience in a damn game of all things? Also people like you are one of the reasons the game died out. I mean most of the blame goes to the DEVS but scammers sure did not help anything either only making matters worse.
@@kalcuthbert6829 Awesome! There are quite a few different servers to choose from. I would suggest Legends for a first-time player as it's the most populated and closest to what one would expect from a MMO. Definitely a good staring point before trying some of the other older versions of the game (which many prefer due to their unique profession system/combat). All have dedicated fans keeping them alive and adding new content, so whatever you choose, I'm sure you'll have some fun.
@@kalcuthbert6829 If you want an experience like how the game was before it ended Legends is the best option with easily the healthiest population. Infinity would be the best option for a server closest to how the game would have felt in 2003 before the combat was changed, twice. Neither are true vanilla experiences, but both are the best options out there imo.
@@kalcuthbert6829 SWGEmu is the very core of the game so the most authentic but with a lower population. If you like to play with and be around a lot of players then Legends is the place but it's not SWG it's A LOT more modded and has a lot of stuff in it that SWG never had. If you want OG but also want the expansion like Jump to Light Speed the one where you could fly around and fight in space then Infinity is the place. There are a good number of EMUs out there now of this old school game just depends on what you like and how you want to play.

That was a big one! Selling junk items in backpacks titled with the name of something expensive was also very common.
Damn I had no idea this happened back then, definitely before my time though in 2009 lol.

How have I been into SWG and SWGEMU for over 20 years and have never heard of this one?
There are plenty I have no idea about I'm sure! It makes learning about the history of SWG just that much more interesting!
Sounds like a legit trade, not a scam

@@TimePodGaming I did play before, but i was too young to understand at the time. Which one would be the most authentic? Thank you
