    Experienced divorce lawyer here. I hear all of these issues from most of my divorce clients. If you are dating and experiencing these issues in your relationship, it maybe a good idea to walk away. Do NOT marry this person. Do NOT have children with this person. It will likely be an expensive, lengthy mess to untangle the marriage. Stay safe out there. Take off those rose colored glasses. Communicate your needs. Set boundaries. You can thank me later.

    When he says you were pushing me off the bed last night, you know it's coming to an end because that just means that when you were trying to get close to him physically, he was physically moving away. After i heard those words, i never ever got back in bed with him. It was literally over for me.

    Gosh, I’ve been in a relationship for 5 years now, and it’s been such a tumultuous experience. It’s finally run it’s course, and neither of us is really interested in fixing it. The fight is truly over, and I don’t think it’s a bad place to be, either.

    Thank you. Sadly we often only look back and realise these things later down the line and then tell ourselves off that we should have walked away sooner. But I guess we didn’t want to accept we might be right and wanted to to persevere and carry on regardless. That blouse and colour looks great on you

      UTubeuzer- thank you for this comment. Can you believe it? All these years on UA-cam and I never hired a technician to assist me? I never worried about SEO. Nor did I worry about thumbnails. Let’s see what happens.

    Susan- this really hit home with me. Thank you for this thoughtful video. I Broke up with my guy after 6.5 years with him Long Distance. Waiting for him to come around and want to have a full time live in Relationship with me. It never happened and I got mad and he pulled away / a viscous cycle. 3x i broke up with him and the last time I finally couldn’t take it anymore. I simply said- clearly we want different things. He is a good man and we had a lot of good times together-but he is dealing with a lot of personal issues that became walls for us- as he didn’t take measures to deal with them. The relationship went as far as it could with all those roadblocks. It’s sad but it it was time to let go for both of us . ❤

    Great video Susan. You hit the nail on the head.. and yes should have made a break sooner. Living with someone we didn't even really know after all this time is daunting, and the bait and switch.. wow. The partner exposes himself for who they really are a man child complete with tantrums and rages.. and whoa! The loss of all the dreams and "future faking" dreams( it will all be better when..) ..with that person gone, and new person inserted. Working on that, feeling empty as a shell.. know it takes time. and lots of strength. Also the former partner- with ms right now, a life of smoke and mirrors for the house of cards he offers to the next victim.
    xx to you and Nikka.

    All the signs are there, I know what to do, but it’s so hard to fail again in a relationship. My big red flag was a few weeks ago when I wanted to discuss something that happened in my surroundings and that was very important to me. He said he didn’t want to know anything about that, didn’t want to know about “my shit”. I was so hurt, still hurt. I’m not important to him obviously……… and it was even more hurting as I tell you that my ex partner once said the exact same thing to me, he didn’t want to know anything about my work. Very selfish men.

    Susan, I love this video. So much detail in this video and I really appreciate how much you break down your points. In my relationship, my partner in the past has hurt my feelings, there is a lot of things I’m not over. And he always says leave it in the past and he says that I always bring up the past and there’s no point because he can’t change it. But I guess I’m still hurt and have a hard time forgiving. Still working at the relationship but it does hurt. I guess sometimes that kills the moments together. Don’t know how to leave the past in the past I suppose. 😞

    Very helpful video Susan! It's interesting about your 3rd scenario where I know a few couples who do that. What do you think of this? My friend calls it "living with an enemy".

    • @SusanWinter
      @SusanWinter  Рік тому +1

      As long as they’re staying together, doesn’t stop them from growing individually and having the option to have a romantic life with someone on the outside. There are times that couples stay together for financial reasons. And there are other times that couples stay together because they want the appearance of a family for their children. But if they are truly separate romantically, it is my belief they should separate romantically. And that means if they want to live in the same house, fine. But allow each one to discreetly pursue romantic relationship that fulfills them.

    Susan, what do I do if a former romantic interest who pursued me first, then ended it, won’t give me back a momento I gave them? The momento is a piece of jewelry that was originally mine, but I gave it to them as an act of affection. I’ve asked for it twice but they won’t respond. It is not a piece of jewelry I want to part with as it has a strong meaning for me and it’s quite valuable monetarily as well. Is this a power move?

    I see some of the signs like not communicating as he once did, etc and I have approached it to my partner. He denies it. What do i do ? just wait for everything to crumble?
