Oh no!!! I'm not at the end yet. I love when she pops in at the end when she wasnt in the rest of the video. Always a cute way to end it. It doesnt feel like it's over without her!!
I’m 72, and, like Maverick, I used to love watching and “helping” my Dad build projects. Watching you and Maverick still brings back those wonderful memories.
I think you have found your forever home. It’s beautiful and you have plenty of land for anything you want to do with it. Love everything you all have done. Always looking forward to seeing your videos. I’m a forever fan from Tennessee.
The Maverick does like to help out! I love the sound effects of the sped up part of the vid. The shelf didn't take long to have things on the shelves. That wood barn clean up would be just the chore my Dad would have passed on to my bro and I. Mostly to get us out of the house.
Great looking closet shelves in the hall. Looking forward to the build of the book case in the oven opening. That will be so nice...not only wall art but useful for the books you like to read. The trim work looks so good also. Thanks for sharing this build with us. I love watching how closely Maverick studies what you are making. He will be quite the helper in a few more years. Have a Blessed day.
The clean white and neat lines of the hallway makes it appear larger. I really like the way you executed the closet shelves. Your little helper keeps on getting cuter! Please show before and after shots of the barn. Call me weird but I enjoy seeing clutter turn to organized. Just Right OCD maybe?
Once again, you never cease to amaze with your talents. Doug I swear you come up with some of the most genius things to build. I wish all your tricks of the wood were around years ago when we were doing all this type of thing. Your way is so much easier and a smarter way to work things and you are done so much faster! You can be sure next time we do closet shelves they will be this way and removable and adjustable. So nice to have air flow through the shelves and love the way the shelves just clear to set in. Absolutely love this! Maverick is getting so big I can hardly believe it. He is growing right in front of our eyes. A good helper I am sure that loves to be busy with dad! Great video! I am sure the barn will be tidy as a pin in a short time! I wish I could say the same for our big garage! LOL Blessings
Being honest here. U havd taken a run down home to a Beautiful new HOME!. I CANT STESS ENOUGH YOUR TALENT AND DRIVE U R WHAT MAKES THIZ CHANNEL. ASHLEY DOES THE SAME IN HER OWN WAY.
Looks great. I hope Ashley is OK. I know she sometimes gets down. Let her know there are people who care and look forward to seeing her in the videos again. You two are two of my favorites to watch. You’re so down to earth and just simply pleasant people. Thanks for sharing your lives with us.
I think your audience would enjoy a time lapse of you cleaning up the barn. Love the adjustable shelves and looking forward to your bookshelf design. We are hungry for whatever content you send our way. Roll on roofing, insulation and siding. All big jobs to go and achievable by you.
Doug the shelves are great! I really enjoy watching you create things from the wood that you have on hand, as well the sharp designs that you come up with! You are so resourceful! Love watching Maverick grow as he learns and helps!
I think it is so neat to watch you and Maverick working on a project. My hope for you is he will always be by your side. I have two sons who are there for me any time I call on them. I was by their side when they were kids all the way to adulthood. My oldest is now 51 and the youngest is 46. They are both a great blessing to me and their mom. You are doing great with your kids and the home. The best wishes to you always.
Doug, I've thought this before and never said anything, but today I'm just going to put it out there. I'd love to see you wear knee pads when you're crawling around on your knees. I know they're sweaty in hot weather, but your knees will thank you as you get older!! I'm 58 and I can no longer kneel for even a couple minutes without wearing them. I never thought I'd need them either, but I do, and I wish I'd worn them when I was younger. Just some food for thought cuz I care!! P.S. I love everything you two do, love to watch your thought process on a project and see it come together. Your work ethic is amazing!!
It is a NEW HOUSE!!!!!! I am pretty sure you have tripled ( + ) the value of the house... It is so good you are not letting anything go to waste and use bits and pieces to make 'something' out of them.... you just gotta luv Maverick... and he is doing a great job of "quality control" LOL and he is learning...
Doug, I shouldn’t, I should just mind my own, but for future projects, please don’t use the space in front of the fridge to do your “sawdusty” work that gets sucked up by it’s fan! I know how hard you are working and it’s pouring rain and it’s the only space large enough to accommodate the project...and this is just meant to be a little tap on the shoulder from the mom who’s always pulling the bottom off and doing the cleaning under it. I am so impressed with all of the things, you have made...long list: artwork, tables, beds, chicken coop, omg so long it could be considered endless!! And I love watching the two of you make it happen! My hats are all in the air for you!
You and Ashley have taught me how even the simplest DIY can look high end if you just take a little time to design. Would like to see videos on how you guys would organize the garage, too. Hope you build a work center. My tool are everywhere and I need good ideas to make economical DIY work bench and tool organizer.
DIYDanie just did a garage organization with tool center and Sorry Girls just did a storage area for tools . Danie used peg boards and Sorry Girls used shelving. Check them out. Both look great!
It is always that last push to finish off the little bits that seems to be the hardest! Great shelving solution - it has given me an idea for storage shelves in our new place, so thank you for sharing your process. Getting the barn tidy and organised is a great idea, i find that i cannot work in a messy place and after awhile it starts to get you down but a good clear out, clean up and tidy up is brilliant in helping to focus ones mind on the upcoming tasks etc. What a truly beautiful home you are all creating.
Your shelves are great and a new way of doing them. It’s so nice to see little Maverick following in your footsteps. Such a clever little fellow like his dad. I still would love to see you with a high tech wood shop of course with a wood stove so you could work the winters doing your genius, inspiring, innovating things you always do.
I think Maverick is going to have a similar way of working things out as his Dad. You can just about see his mind working as he watched. He's very observant and pretty focused for his age. Lucky Ashley, you're going to have two handymen around the farm!
Love the caterpillar crawling around at the being of your video. Love your helper checking your work. The way you think things through. My dad would say “if you can see it in your mind , it is possible”. He was frugal and very talented around our property. He built and welded our fence posts. To top them off he used burned out light bulbs taking the screw top part off and filling them with cement. When dry he would take the glass away and the neck of the cement bulb would sit in the hole of the fence posts. Heavy enough to stay in place. Miss those fence toppers.
I love to sit back and watch what you're doing even if I don't quite "get it" right away. You always make something out of nothing. Very clever with the closet. Your shelves look great!
Doug, your home is worthy to be put in a magazine! It is absolutely beautiful! You put thought in everything you do and it shows. Good job on the shelves! Maverick is really growing and you are an excellent role model for him. I’m missing Ashley today.💕
I learn so much watching you do these projects, your mind thinks so many steps ahead! That bookshelf is really going to finish that hallway out in style. Speaking of style, your editing is really good, I have watched for a long time and it's been so cool to see your video and editing style evolve. Maverick is the sweetest little thing, you'are both always so patient and kind with your kids, you are giving them such a good foundation for success in the future....but am I the only one that missed hearing a little "bye" from Ashley at the end? LOL I hope I'm not the only one that says "bye" back to the tv.
at the end of the video, the boxes that you were standing next to, was that the cabinets that were damaged for the kitchen? If so then an idea is after you clean the shop, put them together for the shop to use as storage for the tools and things. the old bed frame could be used as a wood rack for your scraps to reuse. Just an idea. Looks good great job. God Bless
You did a great job. As a personal preference, I would avoid gaps between the boards because things fall between the cracks and it means any small items need a container or have to sit squarely on a slat which may or may not happen when actually living life. Decorative bins are pretty these days too, and I do love them when I see them used on youtube, just an extra expense. It is great as a linen closet as is and you two always think things through so I'm sure it is perfect for what you have in mind.
Thank you again for sharing your woodworking skills making shelves in your closet. You never cease to amaze me with all your ideas. Maverick is such a big helper today. It looks amazing
Making bookshelves like your closet shelves would be nice and attractive too. The trim came out really nice Doug. I need to make shelves in my sewing room closet and I’m going to make them like this so I can adjust them. Thanks for your video, now I know where to start.
The closer shelves are a very good idea! As always, Maverick was your able and trusty assistant. Doesn't seem that this is all that is left to do on the inside. Ashley and you put in many hours to make this your home. Your house is so unique yet beautiful.
The small finishing jobs are most rewarding I think , I remember that hallway was chaos in the past .....now it looks so smart. Book shelve is a bonus , what a great use of space . Hey Belle and Maverick , nice to see you both Xxx
Hey Doug, are you going to turn the barn into a workshop ? It would be great though, but i can't imagine all the work y0u would need to do... Much love from singapore... another awesome upload
I sympathise, everyone needs a glory hole in which the odds and ends can be stashed ready for the next task for which they will be used. The shelving was a great example of using what you have to (almost) complete a new project from glory hole bits. The rest of the trimming out was the sort of job that so easily gets delayed allowing a bigger task to get done, but it really makes a huge difference. Everything you turn your hand to another job the overall design pops out a little more. Maverick played his part well, I was worried that he might touch something wrongly, but you were so patient. He learned by watching, and realising how things happen. That is one of life's most valuable lessons, you are teaching him well.
Another great project Doug! You never cease to amaze me. Maverick is being his cute self as always. Be safe amd God bless you and your beautiful family always💕
Awesome shelves in the hall closet. Seems we can never have enough storage. I know you are minimalists...but still...have to have a place to put things we need but don't want to be seen. The shelving unit is very versatile ....you can add or subtract as you need shelves!!! Great job, Doug....you rock!!!!
So proud of you for persevering through, and doing those finish jobs. They are the hardest to get to, but makes it all look so nice. I love your idea for the shelves in the hall closet... So smart and creative. I miss seeing Ashley. Hope she's well.
Everything is looking awesome. I live in the desert in Phoenix, AZ, I want to thank you for sharing your beautiful rain storm with us. We are patiently waiting for our monsoon season to start. What a great helper you have in Maverick ❤️
Wow Doug, it looks amazing, I love the shelves in that hall closet, and that they can be adjusted. Love that the trim is also finished in the hallway, it looks really nice. Everything is looking so wonderful and I always get so excited to see another video. Maverick is such a little cutie and always loves to be around you and helping. Did you see the caterpillers crawling around, I thought that was funny, they know where to go when it's raining. Take care and I am looking forward to the next video, sending love and hugs, bye for now.
Lovely little update, seeing the trim getting close to finished is wonderful. Quite the rain shower going on while you were in the barn. Stay safe, everyone.
Your channel is the only one I watch consistently out of all the other channels I'm subscribe to. We are a military family living abroad that doesn't have anything to do with remodeling of any sort within our daily lives, yet your channel fascinates me.👍
Your little helper is just so darn adorable!!
You guys seem to know exactly when I need a break from the world. You’re helping people in more ways than you know.
Awesome job!
All those little jobs that don't seem like much, but they truly make a difference. I missed seeing Ashley saying goodbye today.
I hope she is doing ok.
Oh no!!! I'm not at the end yet. I love when she pops in at the end when she wasnt in the rest of the video. Always a cute way to end it. It doesnt feel like it's over without her!!
Yes, we miss Ashley.
The trim makes such a difference.
Your home is really quite nice.
Nice job! Congratulation.
Love watching you and your helper working together. He’s so patient and genuinely likes to be with you.❤️
I’m 72, and, like Maverick, I used to love watching and “helping” my Dad build projects. Watching you and Maverick still brings back those wonderful memories.
3:00 what a good helper 👍🏼👍🏼. ☮️💜😺
It's looking great! I love the shelf idea! Good job!
Am I the only one that would have liked to watch him clean up the barn? lol Anyway everything looks so good. thanks again for sharing
I think you have found your forever home. It’s beautiful and you have plenty of land for anything you want to do with it. Love everything you all have done. Always looking forward to seeing your videos. I’m a forever fan from Tennessee.
I am glad to see that some one else sees the benefit in scrap wood. I love the shelves. And that little boy you have .
Yet another great idea! Maverick is so bright for his age too. Great job!
The Maverick does like to help out! I love the sound effects of the sped up part of the vid. The shelf didn't take long to have things on the shelves. That wood barn clean up would be just the chore my Dad would have passed on to my bro and I. Mostly to get us out of the house.
Looks like a giant blanket ladder lol. I love your helper. Good planning. Love this too.
A giant blanket ladder for a quilter, good idea!
House is coming along beautifully hope ur family stays safe
Great looking closet shelves in the hall. Looking forward to the build of the book case in the oven opening. That will be so nice...not only wall art but useful for the books you like to read. I just wanted to say I have enjoyed your videos so much. I think you and your family make a great team.
We are happy to hear that. Thank you.

That house must be so proud of it’s new fresh clean look. It was old and tired and now it’s young and happy looking. 💕
I think your audience would enjoy a time lapse of you cleaning up the barn. Love the adjustable shelves and looking forward to your bookshelf design. We are hungry for whatever content you send our way. Roll on roofing, insulation and siding. All big jobs to go and achievable by you.
And, after the kindling box, a workbench for Doug in the barn!
WOW! Such a satisfying video! You are literally working on the final details within the house! Excellent, excellent video! TYTY! ❤️❤️🙏❤️❤️
Like how Doug builts something out of nothing but scrap wood.👍Mav is at his best, your entrance area looks warm and inviting plus neat.😀
Doug the shelves are great! I really enjoy watching you create things from the wood that you have on hand, as well the sharp designs that you come up with! You are so resourceful! Love watching Maverick grow as he learns and helps!

Getting there... Wont be long and all you will need is outside work. I bet Ashley is happy... been a long years wait.
Great job helping Maverick. He will be able to do many things when he grows up.
Yep, our two sheds are the drop zone for us. We organize it once a year and the things we find spur on other projects. It works well for us.
I was totally happy to see the Living Room reveal! This entire project continues to only get better! Love it!
Leaving the custom book shelf as a cliffhanger....nicely played sir. Nicely played😂
So love Maverick helping daddy, I can see him by 10 years old building his own tree house.
That is the nicest looking closet Ive seen. Tell Ashley I missed seeing her and Bell

Trim and shelves look nice. Like that shelving setup. A time lapse of the garage cleanup would be inspiring. Thanks.
I absolutely agree! That would be very satisfying.
Its all coming along really nicely. I havnt seen anything I've not liked. You're turning into real pro's with your house renovation. X

I find it nice to look at a down-pour from inside an open door garage.
This shelf design is coming to my home in Canada. Thank you!

Love the Linen closet shelves! I especially like that they are adjustable. Trim looks nice.
I miss when Ashley says “BYE” , love all the work and progress you have done. Will love to see how the organized barn looks like after.
Another great video. I always enjoy seeing little Maverick helping dad.
Excellent job. You’ve ticked more jobs off of your to do list!
I really like the shelves. Adjustable. Good job. Nice assistant helper.
I just love your new helper.

The trim turned out great Doug. Soon the interiors will be done!!
The little details make a big difference.

Those were the original cabinets we bought that were supposed to be RTA, but ended up being non-RTA. Thanks for the ideas.
I enjoy watching Maverick helping you...that is how I learned from my dad. I appreciate how much you think 'out of the box'. Thank you for sharing!
Not that I'm surprised but dang that closet looks good!
Y’all! If you didn’t tell us this was a mobile home, I would not believe it! I truly enjoy your videos and am so proud for y’all!
You did a great job. As a personal preference, I would avoid gaps between the boards because things fall between the cracks and it means any small items need a container or have to sit squarely on a slat which may or may not happen when actually living life. Great job on the closet shelves. Very smart to make them adjustable. The trim does look good too. Your house looks so awesome.
That is terrific! You do such nice work!! And I love seeing Maverick as your able apprentice!!
Your workmanship is brilliant! Also, so strange hearing 'untill next time take care' without Ashley's 'bye' lol
Thank you again for sharing your woodworking skills making shelves in your closet. You never cease to amaze me with all your ideas. Maverick is such a big helper today. It looks amazing
I got the shoes yesterday and love them thank you. Enjoyed watching you build the shelf. It feels so good to finish things up.
"Now these don't have to be perfect", but somehow I bet they are knowing how Doug is!
Hey Belle and Maverick , nice to see you both Xxx
closet shelving looks awesome, very clever Doug.
Thanks!
Hey Doug, are you going to turn the barn into a workshop ?
It would be great though, but i can't imagine all the work y0u would need to do...
Much love from singapore... another awesome upload
We may try to build a small work area in the barn :)
Been with you since you first bought the schoolhouse. Learning from watching your projects and enjoying the adventure.
Doug the closet shelving turned out great 👍🏻 can't wait to see your book 📚 shelf! Be safe and healthy!😷take care !
I sympathise, everyone needs a glory hole in which the odds and ends can be stashed ready for the next task for which they will be used. I love how you appear to take nothing & make something. I really like how the closet came out 👍😄❤️
Awesome shelves in the hall closet. Seems we can never have enough storage. I know you are minimalists...but still...have to have a place to put things we need but don't want to be seen. The shelving unit is very versatile ....you can add or subtract as you need shelves!!! Great job, Doug....you rock!!!!
Thanks!
So proud of you for persevering through, and doing those finish jobs. They are the hardest to get to, but makes it all look so nice. I love your idea for the shelves in the hall closet... So smart and creative. I miss seeing Ashley. Hope she's well.
Everything is looking awesome. I live in the desert in Phoenix, AZ, I want to thank you for
sharing your beautiful rain storm with us. We are patiently waiting for our monsoon season
to start. What a great helper you have in Maverick ❤️
Good luck with the barn cleaning.. we just did that and you will feel so good when it’s done. 👍
Thanks. it takes days for us to clean, haha. It's so tedious and there are so many distractions. But we're making progress.
I love to watch Maverick helping you work!
Quality control on the job. You're training the little one at an early age to check that work for perfection.
lol. Yep. Maverick examines EVERYTHING
Closet looks fabulous and your little helper is precious 🥰
I love your attention to detail and doing right the first time. Great job!
The closet and trim look great. Maverick is such a sweetie, Belle too. thank you for sharing. ❤❤❤❤
Nice, nice, nice! I can't WAIT to see the bookshelf! ❤️
Lovely little update, seeing the trim getting close to finished is wonderful.
Quite the rain shower going on while you were in the barn.
Stay safe, everyone.
Everything looks so good. Y’all are doing a great job!!

Doug, that is super cool shelving system !!!👍🆒
Can’t wait to see the bookshelf!
Looking at the red bunk bed out there, you could turn that into a small greenhouse pretty simply. Even if it's just for the children to learn 💖🇦🇺
