- Kimbal Musk discusses his beginnings as a young entrepreneur noting how he made $100,000 in one summer and almost missed an investor meeting after being stopped at the border for not having a proper visa. He looks back on creating Zip2 with his brother Elon, sharing experiences of sleeping in their offices to save money, having a book thrown at him while meeting with the Toronto Star, and later selling the company for $307 million in cash.

He looks like the character from Toy Story….
fascinating story! thank you Kimbal
I've heard that the gimbals on the Space X rocket engines are actually called "kimbals", after Kimbal Musk.
That's cute ❤
Love the history!
great interview thank you for posting good advice and good story
Cool, thanks for the insights.
God bless you.
I was a Foster-Kid till 10 Yrs old; so my only real Family was Friends & a Dog- Just nice to hear about the Humanness of the Musk Family ! ?
It is interesting to know what motivates people. Thank you Kimbal Musk.
What motives him ?
Feel the same way , more meaning
Natural winner
Business is actually easier than people think. I know of too many people with 3/4 the Musk's IQs who are multimillionaires.
He says "We" more than I thought would be required to tell an accurate recounting.
I went to a private school 🏫 that had a computer 🖥️ teacher that when I was in 6th or 7th grade explained the internet to us. She said some day all information will be able to be shared and passed between personal computer, she explained emails too me.
I thought…YEAH RIGHT NO WAY WE COULD SEND A VIDEO GAME OR A SONG ACROSS THE COUNTRY.
2003 I BOUGHT MY OWN COMPUTER JUST TO BURN CDS 💿 ON NAPSTER!
I stole all Metallica songs while doing so much blow I looked like this emoji 😬
Lol
Don’t worry Kimble, you can paint my house if you get short of money, ha ha !
"This guy runs a multibillion dollar business that is already dead - and he doesn't realize that." recurring theme
a limited alien 🤔
This is the dollar in the New-World-Order, BRICS…5:08
!
He runs a multi-billion dollar business that is already dead. Cold blooded.
I've heard Elon and Kimbal's version of how they got started but I can't help but think that they are lying about the money they used to get going. I like both of them and certainly respect all of Elon's contributions to society, but I think they are lying about their start.
Dad.
@@GudieveNing..Dad and eventually mobbed up connections. Not denying they worked hard though...
Toronto Star is one of Canada's trashiest tabloids so this story does not surprise me at all.
this story isn't theirs
"We didn't have any money". Yeah, sure. What a liar.
How is your mum's basement going.
Ah, the socialist myth that Elon and KImbal had millions...
@@aldunlop4622 Their father literally said they had so much he couldn't even close his safe by himself.
He said it literally took two people to close it.
They came from money.
His father is famous for talking out of ass and is taking money from his children to survive @@gc-zb1hr
@@gc-zb1hr I would believe Kimbal and Elon's story, after all, if their father was a good dad, his family would not have left him.
