    Very informative session.I was a little confused if it is necessary to input and define the energy stream in such hydraulic cases where there are no significant involvement of heat transfer?

      In Aspen hysys you always need to attach a energy stream to the pipe segment. If there is no heat transfer, or it is negligible, you just need to set energy stream as zero.

      This is only an arbitrary number Subhradip. Max DP is a project specific and you can get some references in standards like API 14E. 😁

    It is possible to increase the decimal places from 4 to 6 in the Hysys composition in order to get the ppm results?

      Hi Juan, yes it is. there are some different ways to do that. You can go to: Files => Options => Units Of Measure => scrolldown up to Variable format => Select Molar Fraction (for instance) => click on Format and define the numbers of fixed decimals you need. It is possible to show up to 9 decimals.

    Would the adjust function still work if we place more connections after the pipe segment such as elbows and valves?

      Hi Ali, yes it will work because Adjust will be monitoring the process variable.

    Hi, i have HYSYS V11 and we have lin sizing manager instead of pipe sizing, and the pressur drop is black empty

    thank you for the video, but can you help me, because i don't know how to add a new component for example cineol in hysys, cos there isnt cineol in my aspen hysys, and i really need that component

      Hi @Min Hyo Shin, to add 1,8-Cineole to your components list, you must add a Component List sourced at Aspen Properties. As per standard, Aspen HYSYS uses HYSYS Databank. You need to add Fluid Package based on Aspen Properties also.

    Hlw Jeff...I am having difficulty in adding TEG makeup in the mixer operation...with my dehydration model in Aspen hysys...any help...can you give some steps to follow?what to include in TEG Makeup stream and how to get it...

      Olá Henrique, o Aspen Hysys está na cas dos 20k~40k USD dolares/ano. Não existe versão de estudante para o público geral. Você vai ter que acessar via instituição de ensino, empresa ou via cópia não autorizada do AspenOne Engineering disponível na internet.

      Hi Vinay, I have seem some papers talking about that, but it is not of most use to my work. I use process simulation for Biogas upgrading.

    Why have we selected line sizing for stream 1 whereas we need to size line 2 which runs from pump discharge to vessel B inlet having a length of 400 m?

      Because in this case, volumetric flow is basically the same as water is a incompressible fluid. In any case, it is better t always use the stream you are dealing with to guarantee the correct results.

    Hi Jeferson, thanks for your tutorials!Appreciate! I just have one question about the pipe sizing attachments you used. In my HYSYS V11 i don't have the option to choose to calculate the pressure drop or the diameter, but under calculation type i have DESIGN or RATING, and this funcion in attachments tab is not called pipe sizing as yours, but "line sizing manager", and as said it won't allow me to choose calculating between diameter or pressure drop, but between DESIGN and RATING. What that mean? And it doesn't show me all the informations shown by you (for example it doesn't show the reynolds number). Could you please help me? Thank you very much

      Hi Luca, many people ask me about this difference. It is time to I record a video to clarify this :) I will ask for your patience, but to give an answer, consider pipe sizing = line sizing. V11 has more options for preliminary sizing than V10.

    Hello sir good day. In aspen hysys v11, there is no pipe sizing option in the analysis of each material stream. However, line sizing manager is present in aspen hysys v11. How can i find pipe sizing sir using v11 in order to add pressure gradient?

      Hi Elhassen, yes you can. Follow the same procedure, however the interface in a little bit different than previous Aspen Hysys. You can set pipe size based on fluid velocity, pipe pressure drop or max Rho. Just go to Settings tab.

      Hi, in V11 this function is named Line Sizing Manager. In plant design point of view Line Sizing = Pipe Sizing. 😅 I hope it have helped you 😁

      Hi, AutoCad is a very useful CAD software for P&ID development. As chemical process engineer in plant design, it is a great side skill to add to the resume, in my point of view :)
