  • Utility AI is a technique gaining more and more popularity in gamedev. It gives developers a lot of freedom in defining complex behaviors. However, too much freedom can be overwhelming and complex utility systems can be hard to reason about. In this talk, speaker propose a systematization of Utility AI design process. You can draw parallels between tree-like utility evaluator structures and clauses in fuzzy logic (given some limitations). This approach allows us to more easily reason about behavior patterns and transform ideas expressed in a natural language into a full-blown AI configuration.

This was a great talk, and thank you Rafał.
But, I hope whoever decided to continually interrupt the flow with giant full-screen subscribe and press the freaking bell notifications is cursed for eternity to step on lego in the middle of the night.

The first 99 times it told me to subscribe on a splash screen really didn't work but the 100th was the one that convinced me to subscribe...

very interesting talk about utility AI i'm working on a project for a turn base combat and even tough we are using behavior tree the behavior of the enemy is too simple I think it will improve with this system but i'm not so sure.
