- Back in 2017, one of the most legendary records in MK8DX's history was set, but it's legacy isn't nearly as known as it deserves to be. This video is a celebration of said record to change that, now that it just recently fell out of Worldwide Tops for the first time in the game's history.

Can't believe I just now found this video, very well explained on how insane this run is. I remember easily claiming 2nd Worldwide in 2017 with inward strats because people were too afraid to learn Blue's strats, they were just that ahead of everyone else in the community in that time
This video is documented very well! I’m a Mario Kart Wii player and the longest world record was 6 years long and it was on leap year! It was so crazy too because it was with Luigi Mach bike which isn’t even the best combo!

I remember seeing FX's run on 2018 and being totally blown away. I'm a 150cc player myself but even though I've always enjoyed watching 200cc WRs I really felt that that track was in another level. Today I'm blown away once more by the fact that pretty much the same time had already been achieved a year prior, insane. Really cool video, thanks for sharing this.
I spent this whole video thinking that the narrator was going to explain something terrible that blue did to make the community want to get rid of his record. I clearly don't have the speedrunner brain.

I love speedrun world record explanation videos. Just the fact that he was a whole 2 seconds ahead and now he is only a second behind really shows how good the wr was
My only regret after watching this video is that I didn't know about it until the algorithm just recommended it to me. This was really well made, and I learned a lot more than I thought I would, having already known some basic details about the run. Summoning Salt would be proud :)

that was pretty sick :) it's always really amazing when that happens! a 1sec cut on a nonsc category is unheard of in basically any MK game, same with having over a 2sec lead on 2nd... absolutely nuts, thanks for the video!
i know some records like this in some older MK games, i'd definitely recommend looking around there a bit if it's something that interests you :)

Piranha Plant Slide is my favorite Mario Kart track, period, so it was quite interesting to see the improvements of strategy over it's history. And if you're worried you won't get subs from this video, well, you got mine.

good video!! i used to speedrun 48 track 200 cc no items and i think piranha plant slide is one of the harder 200cc courses. so this record hold is even more impressive to me lol

Piranha Plant Slide doesn't seem to be popular online, which is sorta sad. At least it's more popular than Dry Dry Desert and Bone Dry Dunes
