My West German Sigs are absolutely the last pistols I would ever part with. I absolutely love them. Accurate, beautiful design. I like them even more than the newer Sigs. I have owned dozens of different handguns and the older Sigs beat them all.

Stumbled onto your channel when I saw your review on my favorite pistol. Mine was purchased new in 1991. But as life happened, didn't get to shoot this one very much. The up side is that it's still in near mint condition. Regarding the sights... Not only is your copy missing the white round dot up front, it's also missing the little square white dot on the rear, which btw is called the Von Stavenhagen sight. But yea, this pistol is super reliable and built like a tank. Did you know Sig rolled out a 40th Anniversary version? Even went back to the bare frame without the picatinny rails. This, and my P365 are all I need. Look forward to watching your other videos!!

The P226 was the 2nd handgun I ever bought way back in 1990. It remains one of my favorites to this day.

    I have a 1987 and a 1988 model made in West Germany.
I'd really like to know, and would suggest you mention, which magazines you had malfunctions with.
MecGar is the original equipment manufacturer for Sig, Beretta and several others. Thing is, they manufacture those to client specification. The MecGar branded mags often have a better finish and different springs (because they weren't spec'd by a military contract or whatever) and hold an extra round or two with a much smoother finish to the magazine. It's usually very glossy, while manufacturer specified mags tend to have a matt, non-reflective finish.
    Nice presentation 👍🏽

14:15 Not sure myself but I have Mec-Gar magazines that are from the 1990s with LEO markings. They were the OEM supplier for a long time to Beretta as well.

GrayGuns makes a killer adjustable trigger for it as well. Ferrari Steve also has an 11 video series where he takes a 226 and makes it a Legion-like clone(I’ve done it…. It’s so much fun!)
