    Tried this. Although i took longer than you, it turned out nice. Added 4 addition rows and decorative beads on hanging cords below the tie off. Found it a bit tricky at points. Started to learn macrame in my early twenties and 50 years later trying to re teach myself and to improve. Your video was very helpful. Thanks.

    This is such a detailed and easy to follow tutorial, thank you so much. • @soulfulnotions2648
      @soulfulnotions2648  4 роки тому +2

      That’s so kind of you, thank you!🙏🏼 I think using 3mm you could get away with cutting about 4-6 inches less, maybe more but I’d be careful! Also because it is a thinner cord, you may want to add and extra of the floating square knots, just to make to opening a decent size, but that’s something you can experiment, and play around with:)

    • @nicolesoliven276
      @nicolesoliven276 3 роки тому +2

      I used 2 mm cotton cord and it turned out great overall. However, I added extra floating knots and if I do this again would add extra of the beginning set of strings (the attached / semi-floating knots) so the triangle portion of the back side is more proportional in size to the any additional floating knots. I did not modify the length of the strings and it was enough without too much extra waste. Good luck!

    I have been looking for something exactly like this for a particularly earth conscious friend and seeing how she already loves my homemade rope (plastic bag recycling tutorials rock people!) I’m thinking she’s going to love her succulents hanging around her Florida sunroom more than now since they’re all scattered about sitting on whatever surfaces get the sun which she’s always complaining about having to move around just to do some light cleaning so hanging them where they get great sun, aren’t messing up her tabletops and can be relocated at will (for this I’ll be using those metal shower curtain holders that are a dime a dozen {well maybe a dollar LoL} and very easy to replace should they get a little “used” looking) and she’s happy, I’m busy so I’m happy, and her condo is easier to clean so gets cleaned more often making her father happy... guess all that’s next is to ask... is everybody happy?!? No, then I suggest macrame! LoL! TTFN & thanks again for sharing! ✌🏼🙏🏼🧿

    This is beautiful, if I wanted to make this twice the size I can see that I would have to double the amount of float cords but do I double the length of all the cords also.
