Tom, I hope you gave Adam a great Christmas gift, he deserves one. Farming has surely changed over the last hundred years hasn't it. Tom, I hope that you and the Mrs. have a great Christmas holiday and a Happy New Years!
Adam must love you watching 👀 him service the tractor. David was looking into the mechanics of the van before inspecting the concrete. A day of engineering type farming

Great video, but I'd like to point out that those Donaldson cartridge type air filters are non-serviceable, they are not designed to be blown out, they are designed to be replaced only. I've been toying with the idea of a pit since watching your pit video's Tom, great bit of kit for servicing and repair work! 👌🏻
I hate those filters too.i hated when I'm using 8s.265 and magnum 340 is same type. I like puma 240 filters they are not very good I think but I like anyway
Not designed to be blown out? If after being blown out, the filter still filters and permits sufficient airflow then I’d say that the design aspect was a failure. Or perhaps it’s a marketing ploy that was designed to sell more air filters?
Great video and commentary Tom , David and Alan are the Bain of your life. You only need mention concrete and they appear 😂 I bet Adam was thinking, “hasn’t he got something else to do” 🤔😂
What a great video, I bet Adam loved you being like a pesky gnat buzzing around him, and david trying to steal his van😂😂 of coursse Emily quite clearly made the tractor dirty doing the last sowing ......
There are a lot of how-to videos on this UA-cam. I’m not sure if this qualifies exactly as a “how-to”, but it’s close enough for me. And it’s not annoying like those others. Well done 🍷
My NH T8 got one single drain valve, no key needed, attached to a hose from factory nicely tucked away so nothing could accidentally open it. It's more convenient, but other NH are not so easy to maintain.
Adam sounds like a couple of the techs/mechanics that come out to us. "I'd rather come here -- your workshop is better equipped that ours!" Also, the lack of phone service ensures a few hours respite from the boss. We even had one bloke drop in to do a non-urgent 10 minute job. He ACTUALLY came to get some peace so he could catch up on paperwork, and organise/tidy his service truck!
I've been guilty if it in the past but air filters should never be blown out. Tapped lightly and thats it. A dirty air filter cleans better then a torn one. Other then that awesome video!
Ha ha ha ha ha at the end for steeling that Wispa Bar!! Bloody big machine that tractor. I would have poked you in the eye for distracting me like you did with that poor service guy trying to do his job an all that (J/K btw). lol. Funny As when you cought Dave trying to get in to the engine bay of the van as well. My cat did that once until i nearly took him with me on my travels :)
9:33 Do not use Vaseline on the fuel filter orings or gasket, and by the looks of it a glob inside the fuel filter housing also to. I’ve seen injector issues quite a few times after people have used Vaseline, and it got into the system, especially in cold weather. If you’re going to use anything use a very light coating of new engine oil. I wouldn’t normally say this but if you have any fuel system issues or failures and they find Vaseline in the system they won’t warranty it…
Are the newer tractors and such generally preferred to the older models, or would older ones suffice better perhaps less efficient, but longer lasting due to less planned obsolescence and electronics? What's your take on the whole thing?
I think Adam thought there must be a rat by the Ad Blue filter, that's why he wouldn't put his finger in there !!!! U sounded like an examiner grilling him, he was under pressure poor bloke 😂😂 Cheers, Poth.
Careful pressure washing the buttons. They are waterproof but almost all electrical seals cant deal with the pressure from a pressure washer up close. especially not the good ones you have
Don’t you just love the design thought that goes into accessibility for servicing. Done a poor job on that one not even put the fuel filters above the starter motor like normal
So no one has commented on the lack of greasing points on the prop shafts. Adam said that the king pins are sealed for life but he didn’t mention that the hardy spicers lubricant is escaping and evidenced by the dust that’s stuck to it.
Was that a Wispa followed by a Fudge? You don’t care do you, Tom? It did look like he came prepared though, good old Adam with the well stocked Snap-on bag. 👍🏻
Hi Tom, I knew that pit would be so good for so many different reasons....and try not to talk Concrete plans in front of David as he might bring his mates along....thanks for posting....
Tom, your comment about pre filling the fuel filters, DON'T. Modern common rail engines have such high injection pressures, any particles will rip up the injectors. Replacement costs are North of $1,500 each. Your choice. Best wishes from Northern Canada.
Yeah filthy backside 😝 Regen is such a environmental disaster 😢 just imagine an electric MF on Full Power then battery 🪫🥵 David 🐈 on the prowl 🥷 Service engineer abuse 😂

Great video Tom, nice to see someone like Adam doing a great job , I’m looking forward to seeing the concreting done
It appears David is licensed on automotive, too. MVP of the farm

Adam is quite the patient man. "What are you doing now? What's that? Why? What's that? What now? Why? Where's that go?" 🤪
Great knowledge, Adam is a top Geezer
5:00 you can use the old one, you just need to soften it first so it seals the plug. To do that, heat it with blowtorch glowing red and drop in water.
What! a awesome tractor you have . Over an. Awesome pit, you've made the job so much easier. 👍👍
Great video Tom - a quality piece of kit!

That intro brought me back to my days playing Powerwash Simulator 😊
Awesome. You'll be renting out the pit next, 💰. Nice work, Adam though I was always taught to put a lick of oil on the filter seal.

A pit to work very nice, never had one at any of the dealerships I’ve worked at or customers farms, no wonder us Ag techs have bad backs.

The pit is genius.
Pro tip: First water everything then after 1-2 mins start the washing. It will loosen the dirt before you wash it

Soon
10:58 Tom, of course there's not a cat in there, it's a diesel! Diesels don't have cats, they have after treatment systems. 😜

Adam has to give you chocolate bars to keep you out of his lunch bag!!
I wrote the comment at the start of the video!!!! I was proved wrong.
Could use all the old oil for a heater for the workshop
Tom Lamb, he's a service engineer.

Will David the cat be getting a Christmas dinner this year Tom ?
A drain plug that doesn't shower you, now that would be an invention.
