I have a internal 35% gear reduction in my rubicon 520 and about to get 4 inch portals with 30% gear reduction will that be enough to spin 22s and 35s in the mud good what do you think?
Had a question about the talon you used to have on portals. How did it fit on a normal equipment trailer? I know the portals add some width and the r is already super wide. Tying to build mine.
So I had an x, 5 in narrower to start out. Portals add about 4 in per side. But I ran pretty negative offset so mine fit well on any regular side by side trailer.
@@MudPuppyOffroadwell that makes more sense on why yours didn’t look any wider than mine. I think I would have to get an over the tire style car hauler to do 8inch portals and the wide tires I want on my talon r. How do you feel about the internal gear reductions on the talons and the lift kits? Or should I just look for X parts?
Yeah unfortunately most people gear their Hondas too low. That's because most gear reduction builders want to sell the biggest reduction they can and charge the most money they can. You really should be running a 35% with 31 OG laws
Most the time I stick around for the nerdy excel part but you lost me on this one 😂😂
It's just counting teeth and then division!
i love the in depth videos
I'm glad someone does!
Took me a solid hour but I found the bike lmao. Honestly with the price of that clutch basket from Partzilla the Terache GR is still a hell of a deal.
Good work! Haha took me a while too. I've found a few cool combinations but that one is the easiest for sure
Do you think Terache 35% would work on foreman 450 I was looking at a GR for one and it looks the same ish.
No it won't.

So if you do the math the way I did it here, your portals will have a 41% reduction
So 1.41x1.35 Will give you your overall reduction. And yes, that will spend $35s in most conditions as long as you get a light skinny 35
@@MudPuppyOffroad Perfect I’m gonna go with motohavoks there a pretty light tire from what I’ve heard compared to others
@@TK_McDonald they are lightish but I do not like them on an ATV. Decent on a side-by-side but there are better ATV tires for sure
Which 35 tire do you recommend?

I put a 53% on a 2020 Footshift Rubicon running 31 OG outlaws
It feels to low, most holes I’m in 2nd gear

Sounds like it’s time for bigger tires
💪🏽
Think the 15% secondary for $330 is worth?
I will not install secondary gear reductions in anything anymore unless it's an OEM Honda Gear I have had too many fail
