@Steven Prime Car buy-backs will only be relevant in a rather distant future, when there's a big enough supply of electric cars. He doesn't really want to "shape people's diets", he's just saying that our excessive meat consumption leads to high greenhouse gas emissions and he's right about that. If you want to do something about climate change, eating less meat is a great idea and I don't have a problem with politicians telling us like it is or incentivizing positive behavior. Afaik he never said he'd back eliminating air travel, you might want to rewatch his CNN Climate Crisis Town Hall.
The GND is a rough plan against climate change. It's only natural and sane to support it to a large extend but most of its details are obviously unrealistic since it's meant to encourage discussion, it's not supposed to get enacted the way it is (even though AOC would surely love that, lol).
From his climate change plan:
"In order to move our air transportation emissions toward net-zero by 2040, we will need to (1) find alternative fuels that can significantly reduce current aircraft emissions, and (2) establish enough carbon capture systems to capture the aircraft emissions that remain. The government will invest in the carbon capture piece of the puzzle, and we will require the private and commercial sector to figure out how to meet the lower emission standard with alternative fuel. The government should also provide incentives to commercial airlines that utilize a certain number of minimal-emission aircraft. "

Every answer from Yang made me smile even more. I just finished and I'm cheesing right now. What a guy. Not only is he genuine but he's so ready with those in-depth answers! You can tell he has been doing his homework on literally every issue in this country.

Andrew is not a career politician. Hes something eles. He doesnt care about winning and staying in political power. He just want to help and then once hes done helping, you will never heard from him again. Kinda like Chuck Norris or Superman. That class of people.
He studies before he goes on an interview. I remember him from January, he was a bit flustered and was obviously trying to remember his answers(when he snaps his fingers that is a tell, he is trying to remember) and still kept up with everything. When you do not have an agenda, answering questions becomes much easier because you only need to remember facts and tell unfiltered truths. Sam Harris called this campaign a revolution of reason. You don't have to agree with Yang on everything, but you can't tell me he doesn't believe what he says to be the best solutions he could think of.

Name recognition
Lots of folks don't pay close attention to politics because they've been disappointed so many times. As a result, lots of them just don't have Yang on their radar. They need YOUR help to find out about him, and once more people are familiar with Andrew, and his message, the most people will support him.
Some people will stick to Bernie, because they want to be angry at the wealthy. Some people will stick with Biden because anyone other than an old white guy behind the wheel makes them nervous, but the vast majority of Democrats would see what they want for America better served by the policies suggested by Yang, because they aren't his own ideas, they are the ideas that have been developed by experts in their fields, and Yang did the research and adopted the best ideas. The Freedom Dividend is one of those, so is his plan for reducing medical costs and expanding Medicare to be available to all Americans at all ages, so are all his other policy suggestions, which are posted on his website.
People just need to find out about him, and then they'll get it too, help them get familiar.

I'm an Andrew Yang supporter.
I thought Andrew Yang was weak on foreign policy.
I was wrong.

You know I realized I actually like Yang more than any of the other candidates. I voted for Bernie Sanders the last time around and I love Bernie but honestly? Yang has better ideas in my opinion. He has a quick grasp, he is very knowledgeable, he is extremely honest and isn't afraid to say "I don't know" which is in my opinion seriously refreshing compared to the other practiced politicians. He just comes across as smart, easy going, and someone who actually cares about helping the every day American in the most effective ways possible. He really is the opposite of Donald Trump. Needless to say I really don't think I will watch any more democratic debates where Yang is not in it. Instead I will donate to his campaign.
There is no shame. I was a Bernie supporter and voter in 2016. But times change, and with new information we form new opinions and decisions.
This time, we thank Bernie for his service. But I will be supporting a new direction with Andrew Yang.

Same here, supported Sanders in 2016 but put up against Yang... sorry Bernie but Yang has better solutions and is identifying problems that NONE of the other candidates were even aware of. Just in running his campaign thus far he's changed the conversation and he started out as a nobody. He's already actually helped people with his freedom dividend giveaway and he's not even the nominee yet.

This is actually one of the best times. Iowa primaries are right around the corner. Iowa is very pro-Yang already, this will help undecided voters even more which will persuade them to vote Yang, rather than seeing a few months ago and being doubtful overtime after all the BS that happened with the debates. Once Iowa votes, polls will come up, people will see Yang's potential and get people to switch to him if they're already not for him. Now I don't think him not making it to the debates was planned, but I think it ended up becoming a huge opportunity in the end. Even if Yang doesn't win in Iowa, he'll probably come very close to Biden & Sanders to get people's attention and look into his policies.

Yang is just a cut above the rest of the presidential hopefuls. Everyone should at least watch this before making a decision, which, after the fact it would be a pretty easy one.
Probably my favorite interview over the last couple of months. It had the Lessig interview vibe as it showcased the depth of his vision (beyond UBI).
