- I Used NAPALM to Create INFINITE Water For My Factory in Sandustry! Today we're playing Sandustry, a physics-based factory game where we manipulate and process falling sand to create gold and other valuable resources. We need to upgrade our factory, research new technologies, and automate EVERYTHING to exploit an entire planet's worth of resources! You can play the Sandustry Demo for FREE on Steam right now!

This game is so addictive. I cant stop playing. The sand is calling my name
Me too, I keep staying up until 3am just experimenting
And this is just the demo. Your free time will burn faster than slag once the first update drops. 😂
@DoctorDerpman man you're so right
Heya! Great to see this info being put out there :D
To help with a bit more context on some questions, yes each block is 4x4 pixels, so you have 16 pixels of water in each block. This was the basis used to determine the efficiency of water duplication. We've found that the flamethrower converts water to steam at a 1:1 ratio, steam naturally converting back to water often will return 5-20% water and rarely will take 5% water away.
Something to help btw with your slag filtering, there are two things that I've seen that generally works. You can have your material be filtered across the top of the kinetic press to only allow burnt slag to fall through, or you can use filters on top of conveyors, or both. Something that you might not know is that filters do work sideways as well, so if you have a belt of material and if you place a filter on top of the belt, it will work with the settings you've set. So you can set it to allow burnt slag through or block regular slag, it'll stop the slag either way and let the other material through. The only downside to this is material of the same weight tends to be stuck in place until it has room below it to fall. To fix this, using a launcher to mix it up and keep it flowing does help. Another thing that can help btw, if your kinetic press does start backing up like it was earlier, you can use a row of launchers along the inside of the bottom of the kinetic launcher, aka the space where the slag was piling up inside there. The speed at which the burnt slag falls does overpower the effects of the launcher so it'll fall through just fine and be processed, and any that get caught by stuff backing up or a rogue bit of material fell in and started clogging it up, launchers and a small hole in the wall for it to toss stuff through fixes that problem.
If you're curious about any other things that you'd like help on, I am also in the discord so feel free to ask :)
Comment of the year right here.
I did actually learn that filters work vertically basically immediately after recording this video, I saw someone using them in discord and it blew my mind!
@@TwistedHBG Ye, the community has been awesome with not only helping one another but figuring different things out. Awesome to see this underrated game getting some recognition :)
Omg mooore, is it my birthday!😂❤. I like it, I love it! SAAAAND!!!❤❤❤🎉🎉
HAPPY BDAY!
I find that restricting the flow of sand early keeps flooding from happening in your factory. This makes possible the burning of slag on the belt continuously without the need for lava. BTW, filters can't filter anything that is more than 1 block high.
I can’t do that to the sand though it must be free and ENDLESS
looking forward to get a completed game
It’s gonna be incredible for sure
I really like that you showed me this game and click mage. I watched your ohol videos for about a month before playing it. Think I speak for most of your fans when I say you should make a rocket before retiring from ohol. Personally I wouldnt stop making those videos entirely because nobody else is making them like you do and they got you a huge fan base. Ive wondered why you haven't made a rocket video yet. Almost zero videos online about how to make one. Plus the hype of unlocking a new game you could stream that a lot of people wouldn't even have access to. And dont say it's to hard to make because I made one 3 days after making my first engine 😂😂. I had a nickname, im engine guy lol
I'm glad to hear you liked Click Mage, that game is great!
Don't worry, I'll make a rocket and fly away on it one of these days, it's just a huge logistical and timing challenge with the way I do videos these days.
And also I'll play OHOL for as long as I enjoy it, which is most likely gonna be for quite a while!
Put a filter in bottom of slag pile to separete burned slag
If they call you a tosser I don't think they like you very much 😂😂😂
Gotta love slang
I like how almost everybody doing playthroughs of this demo tries to overcomplicate a simple concept with an insane rube golbergian contraption, when the simple physics solution to collecting water is to extend a 45 degree ramp, starting from the right of the exhaust vent and extended to the left upwards over the pond for the easiest rain collection that doesn't involve overcomplicated unnessary steps. keep it simple...
There's no fun in keeping it simple.
Also with your method you will run out of water at one point, with this method you have infinite amounts of it - that's kind of the point!
The weird color in the gold collectors is what we call in the industry, a bug. ;)
Just had a thought
The structures underground have little pipes and holes n shit
Can you say put a pump in the lava cavern and pump it into the steam maker
Also find out where the left pipe comes out, I think it forks and one goes up and the other left then down
Plus look at the way stuff is set up in all the structures and see if we can figure it out
devs, please make the little man move faster early game
Wouldnt lava fully automate water creation?
Nope, because lava disappears when it touches water and turns it to steam. I tried it :(
I found you, I finally found you, Imma sub you.
Day 12 of asking for Two Hours One Life xD
