- so i did a tutorial this time :) hope you like it ... i dont know if is it a infinity pool but it looks like it ^^
so im doing a website for sims and chrillsims fans but if it someone that can css codes or can do a template would be so nice :) just asking..
for upcoming houses i going to start next week or a couple days from now cuz im camping right now :P

Hey! When placing the windows, you don't have to delete them to make them work properly. You can just click on the with the hand tool, and then click again to place them back on the wall. Doing that will make them transparent again. Not sure if its been mentioned, so I thought I would put it out there.
For making the pool with the basement next to it do the same he did accept when you press control in between the pool and basement, hold the left mouse down and let go of control first, then un-click.

Moving things around your placed windows while the cheat is active can cause the wall to show up instead of the glass like at 3:04. After turning off moveobjects, picking up the windows and then pressing esc to cancel also works to clear away any image distortion from not having the windows normally placed. This also applies to doors.
For the second pool you need to use ctrl, shift, and c, and type "moveobjects on" (without quotes) and then type "moveobjects off" when you finish
What happens when EA takes the cheat code box away and you can't type those things in. What next?
An infinity pool, sometimes called a negative edge pool, is a swimming pool that has been constructed with the illusion of extending all the way to the horizon. From the right perspective, the infinity pool seems to stretch on endlessly, and contractors often place the pool strategically so that it appears to merge with a larger body of water, like the ocean.

As of patch 1.55 (06/18/13) foundations now have a 1 step ground clearance instead of 4 therefore the infinity pool may not work properly.
Also to clarify some confusion over the term "infinity Pool":
"Infinity Pool" - water flows over the edge causing the appearance that the water goes on to infinity like the ocean over the horizon.
"infinity Lap Pool" - has jets on one end that push the water past the swimmer allowing them to do 1 infinite lap swimming against the current.
I was just going to say you can't have an infinity pool in any Sims game, the water level does not reach the top of the pool wall while an infinity pool one side is lower than the water level making a waterfall off it which gets fed back into the pool as part of the filtration system. Some it's an actual waterfall that drops a good distance and makes splashing noises or as a decorative waterfall wall part of a fountain next to another part of the wealthy overkill garden with outdoor bar and dance club. But most is a 1- 2 inch drop that doesn't make even a gurgle to help sell the infinity illusion for the swimmers and are perfect for the pool on the edge of a building that a penthouse suites outdoor party area is against. Better is a corner infinity pool on a penthouse suite. Meh... you beat me by 8 years.

@N185L135 nope cuz if you use the ordinary foundation closest to the pool you can see a bug from the pool :)
@olciademoncia its a pool there you not can see a edge... so you can for example see the pool be conected to the sea ^^ hope you understand :P
@ROllieHorne Yes, it still works, but you have to do it in reverse. Maxis fixed the pool wall bug, but you can still make the basement walls disappear and do the same thing. It works, just in reverse now. Just put the windows in the pool wall instead of the basement wall.
I just thought I'd clarify this if no one else has (I don't feel like clicking through ALL the comments): an infinity pool is actually a small pool that's equal to your height and it has strong jets in it that you swim against so you don't have to be in a regular pool and it's continuous motion. Check out the movie Gattaca; one of the detectives is swimming in an infinity pool. What you built is similar to a resort pool that goes all the way to the edge of a cliff or hill. :D
@cherry35416: Because instead of relying on the earth to hold up the wall, the wall has to be able to hold the weight of the water by itself. That means that they have to be designed very carefully, suing very good materials, taking into account the geology of the area they are built on, and so on. Instead of hiring a contractor like you would with a regular pool, to build an infinity pool you have to hire an architect, an engineer, a geologist, etc. The costs add up pretty quickly.

@cherry35416: You can find pictures of them in Google. Basically they are pools in which one of more edges are self-supporting walls, rather than being supported by the surrounding earth. They are, apparently, monstrously expensive and found only in luxury resorts, which is why most of us have never seen one.
I believe technically an infinity pool is a pool designed to meet the horizon and look like it extends indefinitely (into "infinity"), and sometimes the term is used for a pool with two levels, making an artificial waterfall within it. I'm not sure what the pool in this video would be called--but regardless, it's really cool. Wish I knew the real name--if there is one.

this is pretty cool :) i mean i've done the exact same thing, but i didnt no u had to undo the window thing to get it like that lol. u should try making a "pool home", u no like putting the home neccessities in the pool
@bridganthabutterfly i think it would be next year :( cuz building a neighbourhood is very difficult and takes a lot of time :P but more info about my neighbourhood will be on my website :) (when im finnished with it)

@Drengen10 well i have uinstalled my sims 2 games :( cuz it took much space on the computer... i can make that kind of stuff in sims 2 ^^..but mabye in future :P

The 2nd pool thing you don't need to go through the hassle of making the windows, theres an update that lets you put windows in your pool

Lol The one with the bricks (The first one) is used when you want the foundation to be the same as the rest of the house because you can use the wallpaper tool on it. The brown one with the lattice work, people commonly use that for the 'deck' look, or even a pourch. That one you can not use the wallpaper tools on, so it will always look like that. If i'm wrong, or have missed something, please, someone add on, as far as I know, that's all there is.

@cherry35416 a pool that goes on forever. For example, a pool on a hilltop overlooking the sea, when you look at it in a certain angle, it looks like it goes on forever
@Babasaurusrex indeed it is (but i havent tested, merely seen it). all you need to do is make sure the space directly underneath the pool (on the lower level) is empty first.
you can do the second one without having to use the console if you have late night only problem is you will have to build it one floor up off the ground

no it's the kinda new update just go onto the game launcher and go to the bottom icon on the list that says something like game update and begin the download. However it does take a bit of time but you do get quite a lot of free contents.

@sergoon123 I think they may have changed that because I only have the base game, and I can make basements. I just can't do what Chrillsims3 does in the second half of his video, by placing a pool right next to the basement and removing the wall.
Upgrade the version you have, it should be there. It comes with the base games as far as I know. Good luck!

@9baselharoun to get the basement tool you need to buy a expansion or a stuff pack (That's how I got it) hopes this helps :D
instead of hitting undo you can just move them again for the windows to appear :)

just found out you can build it on a foundation anyways. and then with a few tweeks figured out how to make it look like an infinite pool
The second glitch has been patched, but is possible if you just make the swimming pool into the basement

I built the pool.. And when i made the deck across it, my pool went down..
In the video pool walls are still up why??

i know people have asked but don't think you answered it but when will your world be ready?
They should make it so that you can have a shallow end to your pool. The pools don't look really realistic with just one depth. Also my Sims 3 doesn't have the option for a diving board. What's up with that?
that is still the style of pool; it is called an infinity pool. The one you think of is a product, not a style

The first method no longer works the way you did it. Now you would simply put your pool inside your deck, surround it by the foundation, and delete the appropriate squares.
I like the second one!

I have tried doing the pool connected to the basement this with Ambitions, now I have Late Night it doesn't work anymore :( any sugestions how can I make it? Thank you! you vids are amazing!

Can't you just build a pool into a foundation for the first one, or could you not in 2010? I was kinda just starting back then and probably didn't try it.
