80% of my battery usage is AAA for TV remotes! More of a concern for me is batteries constantly leaking in their package during storage. Ray Ovac High Energy never survive in the package. Always contaminate the other batteries in the package and worse they leak and corrode inside the remotes. I end up paying more for Duracell as they never leak on me. HDX are in my future. The red and white generic Harbor Freight also have treated me well.
The Thunderbolt Edge were $4 with a coupe two days ago. Bought as many packs as the coupon will allow, which is 4. Normally, I'm willing to pay up to $6 for that 18 pack.
Hi Ed, thank you for all the videos that you do! This isn't in reference to the batteries but did you do a video on your pullout welding table? I went through your list of videos and I did not see, if you did can you get in touch with me and send it to me, thank you
I've had too many electronics damaged by Duracell so switched to Energizer. Now even those it seems leak. I had new ones rot right in their store package after 3 or 4 years in cool indoor storage. I'm giving up on *all* of them and switching to NiMH. Ikea ones are inexpensive and very high capacity. I wouldn't buy any other brand of NiMH. For special cases like my multimeters that are used infrequently I'll use Lithium Energizer, at least those don't leak.
@@jackofalltrades7822 Thanks for doing the testing for us. Money's getting hard to come by and spending that much on batteries is a big hit to the wallet.
@@JulianGomez2024-p9s I am still using HD batteries and have no complaints. I use the in my trail cams too and they last every bit as long as the name brands. I also believe they have less of a tendency to leak. I have had several Duracells and Energizers leak and make a mess but the HD batts havnt leaked yet. Thanks for watching.
Get some battery holders, a watt meter… you’ll be able to actually measure energy content. Also you won’t have to sit there and monitor when the battery runs out.
@@JulianGomez2024-p9s I can try the Costco but I will have to find someone who has a Sam’s membership. I will work on that. Thanks for watching and for the sub.
@@sx20Ramar never had much luck with rechargables. 1/2 of it is because I forget to charge them. The other half is that they stop taking a charge after just a few cycles and the just don’t last as long. I will try Eneloop but damn they are expensive.
@@jackofalltrades7822 The secret is to use the right charger. I have been using the Maha C9000. It not only charges but also conditions the batteries for long life. I'm still using Eneloops from when Sanyo first made them!

Man you worked hard on this review you did everything you could on this test much appreciated thanks Ed
Great review. I agree with the earlier comment below on hot or cold. I am still going to try them in the trail cams.
Me too.

Jack of all trades you should do a video on super heavy duty batteries and rechargeables as well

E.B.L. and ACDelco AA have a really good run time, and are cheaper than HDX batteries.

Temperature has a big effect on batteries. I’m guessing the cheapos won’t do as well in hot and cold. Careful with them in your trail cam.
We shall find out this fall
Biggest bang for your buck is Eneloop rechargeable . Alkaline batteries are kinda obsolete.
