My grandfather had one of these in navy blue. RIP Grandpa. He worked for Ford and grew up and lived in Detroit, as did my mom, uncle, aunt and grandma, and your accent reminds me of them all. It's actually bringing tears to my eyes. Thank you.
i got that same ride at home. now it doesn't look that good, but i got some work to do. still starts and runs. i swear it starts better then my other two.
Absolutely incredible!! How on Earth do you guys find these low mileage cars so much, I mean ever since I subscribed recently to your channel I'm just seeing them practically left and right.....Nice!!!
Well we don't find them that often! But we have a team of guys that all they do is travel across the country looking for these gorgeous cars. We go through a lot and every once and a while they find a diamond in the rough and we bring it back here! :D
Man my old man had one of those. Was cleaning out some dressers and came across a photo of me and him on my 1st day in school, I still remember that car, the smell of the leather seats, the buttons on the rear door. Pretty sure there was an ashtray in the back too. It was a beauty.
I never thought I'd start getting a thing for Malaise Era cars, but that Continental is a beauty! I'm sure Bill at Autohaus Motors in Florida would love to have gotten his hands on this car! He'd definitely profile it on his Curious Cars channel!
I've talked to Rolls-Royce, Bentley, and Maybach owners who said this car was far more comfortable and smoother, making it the most comfortable car in history.
I just traded my 87 5.0 mustang to one of my buddys who traded me a 78 Lincoln like this with only 30000 km on it ive been in and out of the house today cant stop looking at it its pretty dirty from sitting but its in amazing condition reason for trade my buddy baught it from the original owner for his wife she drove it a couple times and decided that it was too big for her my buddy texted me and asked about trading and i didnt even hesitate

I like the one where they delete the bubble window woww I wish I can have one my uncle had one silver with a red pin strip on the side red interior it was sick
The only problem with this car and many big american luxury cars during the 70s was it used up so many gas I remember I had a rich friend who's dad bought a lincon in london and this was during the petrol crisis but a lincon took 12 miles to the gallon!
Hmmm, it does have a V8, but it doesn’t make much power since it’s a 1978 model and ITS SO HEAVY! Lincoln is a Luxury brand, but honestly the Germans fair better.
Except no. Cars like this are hated, but to today’s generation (18yo replying) these yachts are one of the coolest old cars. I had a 77 Marquis, and now have a 72 Cutlass supreme. Luxury is in. The muscle cars of yesteryear aren’t considered fast anymore so why even try? Get one of these babies and cruise.
Car is absolutely magnifisent the most gorgeogous Linc I've seen. This is my Dream car , I will lose sleep over this baby

that just belongs in a museum so people won't forget what a real car was... RIP town car
What a luxury car should be.
These old bricks have the capacity to look and sound so menacing and I’m 100% for it.
Am lucky to have 1980 continental ❣️
From Alaska
The only thing you can do with this car is send it to the FORD museum in Detroit.
My parents had a black Mark V and they loaned us one of these when it was in the shop, we loved it.
That’d be my daily driver and I’d enjoy every minute of it

Couch on wheels! Awesome!
My uncle had one back then. It was an awesome car that was more like a mini van. Could move your apartment with one of these.

2:42 I was really expecting to see jimmy hoffa 😂
That really should go to the Henry Ford museum for posterity.
My dad had one and after break in we took it out on the highway and put the cruise on over 100mph
In the next two years, the Lincolns would be on the corporate slenderizing schedule...the last biggie to go the route!
Their was a red light on in the dash, I hope that was the seat belt light.
Low fuel indicator
This is a 10/10
Greg, that's a 400 engine NOT a 460. I have a 1978 Lincoln Town Car triple black. These are fabulous riding cars for sure
Wish they would say the price for interest sake .....beautiful big boat

The 1978 Lincoln, the car that thinks it’s a house.
