    Mam in previous video you told for e' s donated by lp sigma bond double bond formal charge equal to zero but in this in examples you take -2 as formal charge in M=CH

    In benzene anion negative charge resides on sp2 hybrid orbital and it is perpendicular to p orbital and does not involve in resonance thats why it is aromatic.

    Mam 11th example me ek doubt hai.. neutral method me jab electron count kar rahe hai tab homolytically 4 bonds cleav kar rehe hai to 4 e- Mila... Per ionic method me jab e- count kar rehe hai to heterolytically cleav karenge 4bonds to 8e- milna chahiye na..??

    As you told that's e- donate by line pair, double bond , Sigma bond then Formal Charge =0 but in Question no 3,4,5 is not zero why please explain me mam

    Ma'am in the example no. 8, electron contribution from neutral method should also be 2 since CO is a neutral ligand. I think so.

    Maam ques 5 mein carbon monoxide is a neutral ligand so it donates by lone pair that's why N=2 but f.c =0 hona chaiye na??? Apne -1 likhaya

    Mam at 25:50 the formal charge M=ch2 should be zero na mam ... formal charge due to double and triple bond should be zero..

      no mam has told if M is attached with double or triple bonded system i.e alkene or alkyne then formal charge is zero but here M is double bonded with carbon thats why formal charge is -2 for double bond and -3 for triple bond

    I have a doubt... in q.11 the electrons are donated from pi-bonds..so shouldn't the formal charge be zero?

      Electrons are not donated by pi bonds because in that case, the structure will be antiaromatic and hence unstable. So we first change it to aromatic form by putting negative charges on 2 of the ligands, hence it becomes stable. And then we see the formal charge that will come to be -2

    Excellent lecture but phenyl cation or phenyl anion is not correctly explained mam. Both are aromatic since charge is residing at sp2 hybrid orbital which is orthogonal to pure p orbitals resulting localisation of the charge.
