Probably not a big deal but would testing them in Saltwater give you a different result on your float test? As saltwater buoyancy is different from freshwater. I noticed your plastic tub for testing I assumed it's not seawater.
You definitely have a point there 👍 what I found out based on my holiday salt water fishing is that if I test the lure in fresh water with light split rings and regular trebles after upgrading to heavy split rings and salt water grade trebles the action/bouyancy remains the same 👌😉

Just a tip but you may not like this way. You can use baking soda with your super glue to fill in the gaps where your weight goes instead of having to buy and use a 2 part epoxy. It turns hard instantly and you can sand it smooth. Watch Marling Baits on you tube he uses the baking soda and super glue trick exclusively.
Thanks 👍 obviously I'm familiar with this trick 😉 not using it for a simple reason that it sets too hard - ok for hard wood, but there no way you can sand it smooth in case of balsa lure body and not oversand the balsa around it. The putty I bought to make my first lure in 2015 and still have more than half - for small lure making is just better option 😉
It's a floating lure, most of it hanging under surface at angle of 45° only the beak sticking out, the action is walk the dog, or you can just drag it along the surface creating v wave. There is no way I know of to make it seat horizontally just under the surface, without sinking or rising up 🤔 it catches fish nicely in the ocean, I got one blue fin Trevally on it in Seychelles 😊
It is the amount of weight in the back of the lure,you can see it in first part of the video of making this lure,if you want your lure to be positioned on surface,standing near straight,then the weight must be put in different places and distributed along the lenght of the lure at few spots,for example 3 spots,in the lure,as in this video the most part of weight is in the back of the lure,and small amount of weight in the middle,to achieve the angle in which the lure stands in clear water or in salt water ( approximatly 45 degrees),also you can explore with different types of treble hooks ,because some of them are made from normal thickness of wire,but some are 2,3,4 times stronger ( made from thicker wire,which normaly results in difference in weights of the treble hooks,this harder treble hooks weight little bit more than normal treble hooks)

You need to contact someone that makes decals for models, bigger size you can print on normal laser printer and special decal paper, but elaborate logo of 4mm size, the printer needs to be real bad ass 😉 therefore reach out to modeling decals studio
