She is so adorable! I find these videos strangely fascinating. I think the important thing to remember is that they're snacks not just from the country, but popular in the country even if they aren't made there.
Thanks for the video. I'm from Latvia. Half of that stuff you tried in the video is not produced in Latvia. They should have sent you "Serenāde", "Gotiņa", "Lāču maize", "biezpiena sieriņš Kārums" - these products have more unique Latvian taste.

Pergale, Karuna and Taffel isnt exactly made in Latvia,Pergale and Karuna is Lithuanian, but about Taffel i dont remember. Laima and Vetras putns is almoust national sweets, more than 20 years in production and all love their sweets.

Very cool videos! But, Karuna is Lithuanian :) Pergale is Lithuanian too. Fazer is finnish, so is Taffel. At least Laima was truly Latvian. Too bad the people who sent this did not find the good Latvian stuff. There are a lot of tasty sweets and snacks that are Latvian.
Oh god, the pronounciation... it's hilarious! I'm saying that, because I'm a Latvian and teaching an American my language. The pronounciation by non-Latvians who try Latvian is hilarious, but hey, it's the first step to perfection.
Well Latvian pronunciation of English can be very funny too. I say it as an English philology student who loves phonetics. =P We just don't feel our accent.
Evija3000 An American says I almost have no accent when speaking English. Russian pronounciation of English is the best though. Since I have a few Russian group mates, I laugh pretty hard, along with my Latvian friends, whenever they say, for example, ''beach'' or ''penny''.
A great video! A really great idea & very interesting. Unfortunately, not everything was really Latvian, but at least: vetras putns candy and Laima chocolate was there! :) We, Latvians, are proud of our chocolate, especially the dark one from Laima! :) Thanks, Emmy! :)
It's a shame they didn't send you a "Kārums" biezpiena sieriņš (curd snack). It's a sweet made out of a curd block coated in different kinds of frosting (like caramel) and some have a filling like hazelnut or raisins. The vanilla one has a chocolate coating, for example. My former English teacher (she comes from Canada and she moved to Estonia and subsequently to Latvia) described it as an ice cream bar but only less sweet.
I wanted to see biezpiena sieriņš (a cottage cheese treat) and Serenāde (a very rich and sticky candy) so much. Chose are much more Latvian than the chilli nuts. But what will you do... biezpiena sieriņš might get old while transporting... and I'm glad someone came up with the idea to send her anything at all from here =]
+How To (LiveMasterXxX) Not all of them Karl Fazer is the company that makes the Geisha bar & Taffel had those Chili Nuts and both of them are Finnish companies. Just so you know not trying to start a batlle here it´s good that people likes finnish stuff in other cuontries :)

I'm from the USA & I thought those treats seemed very German & European. I'm curious what is traditional in Latvia, or currently made in Latvia for Latvians to eat. (I'm sorry my spelling is awful & my spell checker is not helpful today. ) Might other Latvians be willing to send treats specific to Latvia to Emmy to try? If she does that, still.
@@catherinejustcatherine1778 im not a professional, just a regular latvian so these opinions might not be correct 😂 latvia has pretty similar foods to germany, i would say, latvians love beer and potatoes just like germans :) we dont really have many foods made JUST for latvia, but tons of our foods include potatoes, chickpeas, meats and veggies just from our country/gardens. our traditional food is chickpeas with 'bacon' i guess you could say? not very bacon-y, but speķis translates to bacon for some reason. i dont know if this is wanted to find out but here are just some facts 😂
Pergale is Lithuanian company. If you want to eat Latvia marzipan you should try some from Skrīveri (place in Latvia and company that also produces those sweet Cow candys). I think their marzipan brand is calld Aspāzija.

i wanna cut of hands of people who sent you that :D those where definitely not the best snacks and sweets from Latvia and more than half are not form Latvia!
As someone mentioned below, Kraft, Karuna, Pergale and Fazer were exceptions - not Latvian but I can understand why the girls just could not resist adding in those. As to those milk candies, they are quite similar in many of our neighbours' countries. Thank you for the kind words and the lovely video. And, I agree with the guy who said there are a few more distinctive and weird sweets they somehow did not send you that we here take for granted. :)
I don't know about you, but I find it almost rude when people start discussing matters in their own language during a conversation that started in English (here on YT). Doesn't matter if I understand the language or not, it's just... Bleh.
I find it kind of rude when people can't accept the world has been a multilingual place since the times of the tower of Babel and as it's becoming a bit more free than it used to be everyone is allowed to use the lanuguage they feel most confident using and no one owes anyone anything in that matter. In the past in some countries speaking/teaching native language meant risking one's freedom and often life; which means some languages have been preserved through blood and sacrifice of their speakers and therefore are considered sacred. There are some places in the world where telling someone they should be using another language is offensive
I will give you an example. I replied to someone who wrote in English (on another channel). They replied to me in Russian, all of a sudden. Thank goodness Google translate made something rational out of it. Did you use your own language replying to me? It doesn't seem that way. Because you wanted me to understand what you're saying, right? :) Thank you for that, I appreciate it!
I think it's ruder when Americans think the world revolves around them. I find it hilarious when they get this upset online but shut up and allow Mexicans to take over their cities and refuse to learn the language.
First of all, we live in a free country here in America. No one is forcing you to learn English. Although it would be a good thing, you don't have to. So you don't have the fact to hate on us.
your so adorable omgggg and i love how descriptive you are not a lot of people do that and it helps me see if it could be something i like this is my first video I've seen by you i will be watching more ahhh i really like u
WOAAAH! Im from Poland and i loved Fritt as a kid, but i never knew that its from Latvia. I totally gonna buy some tomorrow, thx for reminding me old good days ^^
That is kind of a problem nowdays in Latvia that a lot of Latvian companies are being sold. So a lot of companies that were originaly Latvian, now are runned by other countries. That is really sad and doesn;t help our economics at all. Fazer, Karuna (Siesta)and Pergale really aren't Latvian, but the rest of them are, and are made in Latvia
Nepriecē tas, ka puse cilvēku šeit nespēj gramatiski pareizā Latviešu valodā rakstīt, diemžēl :/ Un nav jau obligāti vajadzīgs rakstīt "Esmu no Latvijas", it kā kādu šeit tas diži interesētu, tas nepaceļ tavu krutuma līmeni. Bet nu fakts ir tāds, ka visiem jau patīk klausīties patīkamus vārdus par savu valsti un cilvēkiem. Emmy, great video!. :)
Seems like girls from Latvia sent you their favorite not latvian sweets. Fazer Geisha definitely is not latvian sweet. This chocolate is produced in Finland, Fritt is produced in Germany, Karuna and Pergale chocolates are produced in Lithuania :D
***** Point of this video is that she want to taste Latvian national foods, which many of seen in video are not made in Latvia or not even Latvian owned products anymore. Real Latvian sweets would be cukurgailītis (lolipops shaped as rooster), which are easy made and you can make it home any time. Then there are also Gotiņa (Cow), cream candy. But mostly, Latvians prefer natural "sweets" which are berries with sugar etc.
I mean, it can't really be given a country if it's sold at multiple countries, but that doesn't mean that we don't actually have it here. Most of the stuff here is typically found in Latvia, so maybe the people who sent her the stuff didn't know that some of it was sold elsewhere too.
I second that... specifically - Fazer is not latvian company and the last chocolate - the one with marzipan - is not latvian... yes =you can buy them in Latvia and so, they can be considered latvian sweets, but they are not made by latvian company...
I am Latvian as well thank you for eating our food

Whell I'm a Latvian too, and I think that's rude... -.-
I am Latvian thanks for eating our food hope u enjoyed it!
Karūna and Pergale are actualy made in Lithuania... Just sayin'. Lithuanian, Latvian and Polish sweets/food are really similar tho :p

Half of that stuff isn't traditional snacks, isn't made in Latvia or isn't even owned by Latvian companies. Just saying..
salt level over 2000? I have absolutely zero emotions about it, I'm just saying what I noticed.
+Līva Galeja you are from latvia too i think
+Līva Galeja omg my real name is līva too
Ummmm There Latvian And that There Lables Had English On Them doesnt mean that its not Latvian SO FUCK OFF!

Those chili nuts aren't latvian, they're made in "Ahvenanmaa" which is an autonomous region in Finland..

I am latvian. Thanks for eating our sweets! Nice video!
Viņu kārtīgi ir piečakarēta. (`-`)
Most of that was not Latvian. They were Lithuanian and other owned European corporation products.
I am from Latvia and living in Riga, and I love your videos
im latvian and it's all made from sperm
this is not latvia food !!!! this is Lithuania!!!!
Some of them yes.. Unfortunatly the people who sent the pack didn`t think of the real latvian sweets.. They packed chips, I facepalmed so hard.
Yes, about cheese balls. They could sent meat pies, they're tasty! ;)
*****
No, is not..
aboutbeautywith Violeta
Lithuanians mad as always
ha ha :D
good that somone remembers of this country :)
:) its not realy Latvian sweets I think.... - some Estonian and Lituanian:)
Most of them are in the Baltic Country's and yeah Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia.
Im from Latvia and those are Latvian Sweets
I mean, it can't really be given a country if it's sold at multiple countries, but that doesn't mean that we don't actually have it here. Most of the stuff here is typically found in Latvia, so maybe the people who sent her the stuff didn't know that some of it was sold elsewhere too.
I second that... specifically - Fazer is not latvian company and the last chocolate - the one with marzipan - is not latvian... yes =you can buy them in Latvia and so, they can be considered latvian sweets, but they are not made by latvian company...
+Kristiāna Voļika emmm vinja ary ir no Latvijas!!!lol
