After 3 years of constant use I shut down my laptop one night, I came back from a truck route 2 days later and found no response from power. Unit was left plugged in. I removed the battery and did the power purge as you said, i had to hold the chassis power 15 seconds and then got a board response. After no video I cycled again, booted. Hello Revan. Not sure how it was diagnosed as a motherboard failure, who said it was a motherboard issue? Anyway you also said you believe it is overheating. Maybe a fan isn't spinning properly anymore, maybe not spinning at all. Maybe dust build up or clogged fans with pet hair. You'd have to open it up and inspect the fans to make sure they are free spinning. Also you can purchase a cooling pad for your laptop to help when under heavier loads like lengthy gaming.
It requires more troubleshooting as any issue could go in a different direction. Maybe bad memory, maybe it is turning on but just your screen is dead, maybe power cord or the outlet you are plugged into. Too much to troubleshoot here.
Hi Thanks for the Video. I have the same concern but it was after i tried only of removing and replacing a keyboard. After so, my laptop just turns the keyboard on and nothing happens. I use an external monitor that I have been using for this laptop but still no Video. History of this, is that moisture may have affected my laptop after being left on a rainy days. And I left it about a week. Molds started inside the room as I returned and as I tried using it the monitor started to flicker and after few days I lost some Keys from working. Did not work for me, but the fact that you respond to so many and helped so many gets a like and sub from me. I can still hear the computer working and can even hear it boot up after I type my password, but the screen stays dark throughout. It initially turned off when I just tilted the screen back. It was very sensitive to having the screen moved. In fact if I get it to work again I'm not closing the screen or even touching the screen again. Not sure if that gives a clue as to what's wrong with it or not.
Thank you for your kind words, talking time to comment and your details definitely tell me what's wrong. The issue is your screen. The cable or screen inverter is damaged. Your video cable is most likely getting pinched as you tilt the screen. I bet if you put a little pressure on different parts along the bottom of the screen you will notice the screen light up and go dark. That confirms where the issue is but I can pretty much guarantee you need a new screen which they normally come with a new inverter board and cable. You could plug an external monitor in and you'll see everything working fine.
Hey Daniel! Thank You, My Laptop turned on, However I didn't have to unscrew the laptop itself neither take out the battery, I just did the 60 second hold like you said and put in the charger, then it turned on and works fine! Appreciate it man, Thank You 😊👍🏼
@HafizAbdurRahmanSattar...that worked for me as well. I'm glad I saw ur comment, I wasn't about to unscrew anything. 😂🤣😅 Especially since my BestBuy warranty is still active.

THANKS A BUNCH! I was worried because i just bought my laptop and it won’t turn on. The 60 seconds thing worked like a charm. I’m sooo happy! Thank you ❤️
Daniel, you're a star. Computer is working like a charm again, brilliant video. In my case, I only had to do the 60 sec thing (thanks for the comment that mentioned that) and that made the trick. Thanks so much!
Thanks and sorry it didn't work. If you can't power up to get to the BIOS, you can't flash the BIOS. Also, flashing the BIOS won't fix that type of issue.
My MSI GF75 died on me while at the library, first time in about three years. Tried disconnecting the battery and hooked the power up and it booted. Re-connected the battery and it appears all systems go for now. Thank you for this great tip!!!
This was very helpful and worked. I didnt need to open up the laptop. Unplugged the power cord, held down the power button for 60 seconds, replugged the power chord, waited a few seconds and pressed power button. Cheers for your help.
Thanks for your question. Although this video specifies MSI it's good for all makes and models of laptops. The only difference is many laptops with many different ways of accessing the battery and some have a pin hole to reset the power on the bottom of the laptop.
You're welcome. Glad it worked for you. Excellent question. the simplest answer I have is dirty power or issues with motherboard not allowing proper flow.
You're welcome. It sounds like maybe a bad charging port or general issue with the motherboard that needs to be reflowed. If you like the laptop and fast enough, it's worth it to get the motherboard repaired by your local repair shop.
Thanks for the sub and glad I could help. That noise could be the root cause of the issue. You'd have to try to isolate the noise to see if it's the hard drive or a fan. You'd have to open the laptop up, remove the drive and check it externally and look at the fans if spinning freely. You might need a repair shop.
Thanks a lot!! Had it with Creator P75. Did the 1 minute button hold and then let it recharge for a while. *It didn’t go back up straight ahead, had to give it 15sec hold on power couple of times.
Thank you very much! I've had to do this twice on my wife's MSI - the second time I did it in 5 minutes or so. Any idea what causes this? I'd hate to have to do this every two or three months...
You're welcome. This is a problem if you have to do it every so often. That's a sign there's an issue with the motherboard. you could pay to have the motherboard repaired or replaced, or see how long you can string it along doing this simple fix every few months or so.
You're welcome. if you have to do this several times, especially daily, that means there maybe some sort of issue with the power flow. May not be anything to do with the battery or power adapter. It maybe the motherboard that has some sort of issues that needs to be looked at.
I have an MSI Laptop MS 1792 which I use for large panorama photo editing. I also have an Acer Predator for the same purpose, with 8K video output from HDMI port. I recently decided to remove the battery from the Predator and run it from the power supply which came with it. It runs fine. I use both laptops with large, external TV screens and have the laptop screens turned off. I disconnected the battery from the MSI laptop, and it ran for a while on the provided power supply. After several minutes, I got a low(12%) battery message. Since then, it will not turn on. Help!
Thanks for your comment. This is very odd and doesn't make sense. Not sure why you'd leave the battery out to begin with, but regardless, this doesn't make sense and I don't troubleshoot in chats. You'd need a local tech to look at it and determine what is wrong.
For some people it's a permanent fix, but if continues to be required, there is an underlying issue that should be addressed and will require troubleshooting
Glad it worked. Don't worry too much. These things I've seen happen over the years and usually never repeated that I'm aware of. In some cases it can repeat, then we just deal with it at that time. For now, you're working and most likely will continue to be fine for the life of that laptop.
Sorry I no longer have that laptop in my possession but it shouldn't mater. All makes/models can work with this trick. Although it's not a guaranteed fix, it works alot of the time.
UPDATE: After trying everything below, I took apart the laptop, removed all the old thermal paste, cleaned everything (even fans and fan housing), applied new, fresh thermal pads and thermal paste to CPU, GPU and all other parts that previously had thermal paste. Placed a single stick of RAM in the laptop, and closed it up. upon connecting power and rebooting, the MSI logo came up and the laptop is now working. I've been able to use a new storage device and download all drivers and software and everything is working great - no issues. My MSI laptop power light flashes white briefly and then just turns orange. The keyboard doesn't light up, but the fans are working and pressing the fans button they go even stronger. Nonetheless, the screen stays dark and never comes up. I have tried resetting bios settings via the pinhole / switch and also holding down power 60 seconds with battery removed and with battery in... so far nothing. Also, any link to a completed disassembly of the MSI 65 laptop?
Thanks for taking time to write. Sounds like you're comfortable diving deep here. Normally you don't need to tear apart the laptop for all that you did. Normally if this issue isn't fixed by what is shown in this video, it means something maybe wrong with the motherboard which needs either reflowing, some chips replaced or entire motherboard replaced.
Sir help me, my laptop wont turn on I've tried tye process you have mentioned but its not working. I've tried also removing cmos battery and insert it again but not working again. Any idea? Thank you
I believe I answered this a couple times already in past comments. Maybe it's worth making a video about it. You can review the other comments but its' basically a power blockage needing to be flushed.
This sounds like a faulty motherboard. You could try a new battery but could be wasted money if it doesn't work. Better to get it professionally diagnosed and if its' not the battery you won't be stuck with buying one. Just make sure they guarantee results if not the battery, they can take it back and fix the motherboard.
Hi I bought a new battery and I installed it in the my laptop but, unfortunately the issue still persists. I will try to find a computer store to check what exactly the issue. Thank you

Hi I just replaced the ram on my MSI GL65 leopard laptop, I followed your instructions regarding draining the battery I put it back together and it just shows the charging light but it will not turn on. The fans are working but the screen is not starting up
It seems it's from the new ram I purchased, it boots up after I put in the original ram. Can you recommend to me a compatible memory for my MSI GL65 Leopard? I want to upgrade it from 16gb to 32gb. I am not that tech-savvy, and I would really appreciate it
you can use this website is great! www.crucial.com/store/advisor I did a video on it years ago but it changed alot. Time for a new video. You can enter your computer info to search or use the system scanner. Alternatively find the manual for your exact system.
I had my RAM upgraded earlier today, it worked fine for a few hours but suddenly crashed and won't turn on again... any tips before I bring it to a professional?
You could be on to something there. Sounds like it's possibly a ram issue and you either got bad RAM or the wrong type. make sure if you upgrade it is compatible. you can run a memory test as well which I have a video on.
If you tried as suggested in the video and tried without battery with adapter plugged in. Maybe it's the power adapter or else is needing a motherboard repair/replacement possibly.
This can work with all makes and models of all years. It's not always the solution but certainly is something free you can try yourself before paying anyway. But if it's under warranty still, there is a chance that you could lose your warranty coverage opening the computer.
The type of screws seem to change sometimes from model to model and year to year but generally I use a standard phillips screw driver. The smaller of the two standard sizes that come in any set. I don't know the size number.
thanks for the video, my MSI laptop turns on (power light on) but it doesnt boot up or show anything on the screen, and after a few seconds, the computer turns off... it happens sometimes, specially in cold days or when i take it to coldest places , what could it be? thanks
That sounds a little strange. normally cold is good, not too cold but heat is a killer and make the fans work harder. Can't be overheating which is what it sounded like, but if in a cold environment it's worse? I don't think I heard of this before. Someone needs to look at it. Maybe it's just a coincidence about the temperature.
MSI GE68 Apache here. My laptop won't turn on or show signs of life at all. I have used multimeter to test key components. I get around 3.6-4.5 volts off the motherboard plug that connects to the battery with the DC charger connected into the jack. Wondering why it wont turn on if it appears to be charging through motherboard properly.
Im trying following the methods but didn't work, but my led msi battery( below trackpad) flashing yellow color, so probably I need replacement for my battery?
I tried this multiple times. It actually works now and then. I noticed a blue light blinking in the area of the battery indicator whenever I pressed the button. So I replaced the battery and it worked worked few days. Once I forgot to charge it before the battery goes off and the same problem has started again. I have a msi gl63 8rd. I got a multimeter to track the power flow and i notice that 19.8v is completely delivered to the mother board and about 3v to the battery side for charging. But I do not notice the battery charging when plugged in. Could you please give me a suggestion? Is the motherboard at fault? Currently it's not working at all inspite of doing this procedure multiple times.
@@TwinBytesInc thank you for your suggestion. But doesn't it also mean the laptop should work without the battery? I am facing issues on both the cases.
@@TwinBytesInc to provide a clearer picture. The laptop did not turn on at all after I noticed that the first battery was at fault. Once I replaced the battery, with a new one, it actually started to work even without the battery. But for about one week or 10 days I did not operate the laptop, before fixing the new battery. Now, after working for few days, the laptop battery died due to not charging, as I did not plug it in. Notice that the charging worked perfectly fine while I was using the laptop. Now, out of nowhere it does not work at all, like the old times. This is the scenario.
Sounds like motherboard issue of some sort. I can't troubleshoot here further. Someone needs to look at it to confirm. You've already isolated the issue it sounds like.
Hi Daniel, your video help a lot, i have the same laptop (MSI GL62M 7RDX) i tried it but it still won't turn on, the light indicator in power button is off too. Can you help me what to do with it?? Thanks in advance
Hi! I tried it and it didn't work because the problem was not the laptop's battery! Instead it was something more silly: The interlock cable of the charger was broke, so I changed it and now the notebook works. I put this to also give another solution, maybe it's not your notebook but your charger
Sirr, I want to ask that my laptop is msi gf63 thin 9rcx, the problem is that he can't turn on the laptop without the help of a charger, but if the charger is unplugged after that, the normal laptop doesn't turn off, it's just that if you turn on the laptop at the beginning you have to be assisted with a charger, what's wrong 🙏🏻
That's very strange, I don't think I've seen that before. It sounds like there is something wrong with the battery that it can't have enough charge to boot the laptop, but it can hold a charge to keep it going after it is started. I am only guessing at this point, but sounds like the problem is the battery. If not the battery, it's a motherboard issue that needs repairing.
Mr Gauthier it doesn't work for me I have an msi gp73 it was shut down I thought it was a light cut off but no after that I tried to turn it on nothing it doesn't work I did I tooked restart the bios with the flash boton. I had a problem with the battery before sometimes charge and sometimes no but now it doesn't turn on at all and even putting the adapter the light of charging is not turning on. What should I do in this case please... I'm studying and working with the laptop every day I don't know what to do...
Thank you for your question. It's possible the charger is dead and needs replacing. If you can borrow someone's to try it and find out, maybe you just need to buy a new charger. If not, that maybe a motherboard repair that you require.
basically it's usually either the battery, power adapter, the outlet it's plugged into or the motherboard. Unless it is turning on but the screen is dead. Small chance of bad memory as well but that usually will make a beeping sound. A bad drive would still show you something on the screen.
You don't need any tool to separate the bottom on an MSI laptop except for the screwdriver. I was easily able to pull the bottom of mine off by sliding my fingernail along the split and lifting up. Most laptops are not that easy, they'll have screws hidden under the keyboard, they'll have spots holding the bottom on, and sometimes you can't even get inside without breaking the case entirely.
Yes, there are so many variations to how the laptops are built, so instructions very greatly. You can just go by how MSI works, you'd have to look for the specific model of MIS, but for how UA-cam works, I can't do every single model. :)
Why this issue is occurring mine was dell g15 , i tried your method just removed battery and repluged and it works. But why this is happening in the first place??
Glad it's working for you now. the issue is basically to do with bad power flow. This trick flushes the power and allows a fresh flow of new power. Could be bad wiring in the computer, could be the outlet your plugged into, or just temporarily "Dirty power" came through.
@@TwinBytesInc do you know how to prevent it happening again, it happened 4 four times for me I asked service they said motherboard problem and changing it
Anything slim and firm to slide inside, but not too far and damage components. Also I avoid metal so not to make contact between components and fry something. I like plastic which a guitar pic works perfectly. Even if you are not a guitar player, computer stores sell tools that include guitar pic shaped wedges. Or you can go to a music store and they offer free pics to customers. I don't recommend walking into a music store to get a free guitar pic, that's kinda bad, but whatever you gotta do I guess. :)
It worked for me, but if you could let people know about the importance of ESD that would be great. I work in 2M micro and miniature repair and electrostatic Discharge is a very big deal.
Hello daniel, I have the same Msi laptop. I have been facing black screen issue the laptop & backlit turns on but the caps lock doesn't turn on & the screen is also black. Any suggestions or any kind of help will be appreciated. Thankyou!!
If this solution doesn't work, sounds like it's not the screen either if caps lock not lighting up either. Could be power adapter, battery or motherboard needs a repair.
I have MSI GT72S-6QD which has light when I plugged in but it won't power on. I tried resetting the battery with your video but still it has same problem. What could I do? Thanks for your video.
You're welcome and to answer your question, it could be the battery is completely dead and the power adapter isn't working and needs replacing. It's also possible it's a motherboard issues and needs reflowing or a DC jack replacement. Needs to be looked at.
@@TwinBytesInc I tried to check the voltage of the charger and power socket which they were ok. I could find the voltage on the motherboard (19v). I am not professional but I have tried to check. I think that this is motherboard issue. But should I try it with new battery? Thanks for your réponse.
If the computer works with the power adapter and no battery, then it's just the battery, but if it doesn't work even with power adapter, it's either the adapter, DC Jack, or motherboard. up to you how far you want to try yourself.
@@TwinBytesIncNo light no power up when I tried without battery. There is a light with battery and charger but no power up. I checked the voltage on the power socket and found 19V. I have a new msi gaming laptop and it’s less than a month old. Power cut out. Now it’s not turning on. I’m assuming this is a warranty covered problem since it was bought new. Would you recommend me trying this ? Or taking it to where I bought it.
I think this is what they would try anyway to send back to you after repairs. However, if you have to break any seals to get at the battery, I would advise against it because it would void your warranty.
Didn't work at all I've done the trick before to this same laptop bc it had power surge issues but I think it's finaly kicked the bucket. recommendations for a new gaming laptop appreciated 😅
It may need a motherboard repair which can be much cheaper than a new computer. But if you're looking at a new computer, I can't make a specific recommendation, but the following video link shows you how to decide on one ua-cam.com/video/fLMH7QtX8jc/v-deo.html
@@TwinBytesInc ill take it to my local computer center and see what they say after taking a look at it but it's physically falling appart I've had it for over 4 years and the screen is basically off of the computer besides the wires keeping it working I've been using it as a desk top for the past year or so
Sounds like more of a hardware problem. Try removing all memory and see how it responds. Maybe bad memory. I wouldn't expect a bad hard drive for this to happen. Otherwise, something else with motherboard maybe going on if this video didn't solve it.
Hi, Daniel. Just want to know your quick opinion. My laptop is MSI GP66 Leopard and the battery was drained and won't turn on even when plugged. I followed this guideline and the laptop still dead. Is the issue lies on the power adapter? Sorry for my question, thank you.
Sounds like the next step is try a new power adapter. Maybe you can borrow one to confirm before buying. If that doesn't work, most likely needs motherboard repair.
That's so awesome! I'm not sure I can explain it perfectly, but it's basically like "dirty power" or a power blockage of some sort where the power isn't flowing properly to all the components and doing this flushing the power out of the system completely. That's why it takes a little longer to get power when you first plug the power cord back in so it can start flowing again before you can hit the power button.
For my laptop it has power and I see the hard drive indicator on. Just no display. No MSI logo. I've removed the battery and pressed the power button for a long time but no luck. RAM sticks are ok I've taken out one at a time. Hard drive also ok I connected it to another PC and can access it. I even pin the little EC hole for 30 sec but also no luck. Also no luck using external monitor. Should I try replace the CMOS battery that connected to the board?
Hey man can you help me? Im MSI GL62M 7rd. Power button is lid but monitor keep blank. Before that, I was doing monthly routine cleaning my laptop, and there was a button at the motherboard written SW3. Out of curiosity I pressed it. Then my laptop just blank forever (can't bios). Tried your 60 sec trick still no work. Help is appreciated, thanks
I don't know what would have happened now. Even I wouldn't have pressed that button. it's something you need to really know what it is before messing with it. It's some sort of interrupt button according to a quick Google search, but in most cases we never have to touch any buttons on the motherboard. You'll need to lookup this button in the user manual. Or take to your local expert.
I can't fix BIOS issues remotely or over the phone or by chat. they are all different so step by step instructions vary. The manufacturers website should have instructions with links to latest BIOS upgrades if any available. If it's just a boot loop, Windows may simply need a repair/reinstall. but also could be a bad hard drive which means testing the hard drive with a bootable USB or removing the drive and testing on another computer. Too much to get into here.
Thanks!
Thanks so much for the Super Thanks!

Hey Daniel! Thank You, My Laptop turned on, However I didn't have to unscrew the laptop itself neither take out the battery, I just did the 60 second hold like you said and put in the charger, then it turned on and works fine! Appreciate it man, Thank You 😊👍🏼
Awesome! Sometimes that's all it needs, but sometimes it needs a little more.
@HafizAbdurRahmanSattar...that worked for me as well. I'm glad I saw ur comment, I wasn't about to unscrew anything. 😂🤣😅 Especially since my BestBuy warranty is still active.
OMG!!! THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR THIS COMMENT. MY LAPTOP TURNED ON!!!
Thank you so much! My RAM controller went into protection and the laptop refused to start without a bios reset. I thought I'd have to completely disassemble it, but this video saved me
That's awesome! Glad to hear my video was helpful.
Youre a lifesaver, the first one about unplug the power source 😭😭😭🙏🏻💕💕💕 THANK YOU SO MUCH! I APPRECIATE YOU!
Thank you so much for your kind words, and you're very welcome.
I had an issue not turning on my MSI laptop.
I followed the exact instructions as you showed.
It worked ❤❤❤
Thank you so much for your kindness 🎉
Awesome! I'm glad it worked for you. My pleasure
^^ Another satisfied viewer!
My MSI GE76 somehow turned itself on inside my backpack and I was convinced that it fried components because it was HOT!! I followed your instructions to reset the battery (without unplugging) and I'm back up and running!
❤ THANKS! ❤
That's awesome! One of my favorite comments.
Thanks so much, went through at least 20 different tutorials before this one, which actually helped
Glad it helped! Thanks for taking time to comment.
THANKS A BUNCH! I was worried because i just bought my laptop and it won’t turn on. The 60 seconds thing worked like a charm. I’m sooo happy! Thank you ❤️
You're welcome! That's great to hear.
Daniel, you're a star. Computer is working like a charm again, brilliant video. In my case, I only had to do the 60 sec thing (thanks for the comment that mentioned that) and that made the trick. Thanks so much!
Glad it helped! Thanks for the kind words.
didnt have to remove the battery just had to hold the power button for 60 seconds. your video literally just saved this 7 year old laptop from e-waste
Glad to help
i can’t believe that really worked, thank you so much !!!! 😭❤️🙏🏼
You're welcome
@@TwinBytesInc thank you man god 🙏
thanks man it worked
i use that one min trick you told to do so without open whole thing and it show my laptop is charging .
Excellent! you're welcome
It worked! You’re the man. Thanks for posting this.
Awesome! Thanks for taking time to reply.
So great video. Thank you. Unfortunately did not work for me. Is it possible to flash the BIOS from a blank screen?
Thanks and sorry it didn't work. If you can't power up to get to the BIOS, you can't flash the BIOS. Also, flashing the BIOS won't fix that type of issue.
Thank you, this worked and saved me from panic mode!❤
You're welcome. Glad it helped.
My MSI GF75 died on me while at the library, first time in about three years. Tried disconnecting the battery and hooked the power up and it booted. Re-connected the battery and it appears all systems go for now. Thank you for this great tip!!!
Glad it worked for you. Thanks for taking time to comment.
I'm picking one up tomorrow with a power problem. I hope this is the fix. I'll keep you posted. Great video regardless if it worked for me
Thank you, from Spain. You saved me from a painful situation.
You're welcome.
I nearly shat myself! It's my work laptop. You saved me!
You're welcome. Glad I could help.
Thank you Daniel!!!
Replacing a dead computer was not something I wanted to do and, thanks to you, mine responded just as you demonstrated! Wonderful!
Awesome! Glad it worked.
Thank you so much you helped me i just did the 60 sec thing and it worked
Glad I could help
This was very helpful and worked. I didnt need to open up the laptop. Unplugged the power cord, held down the power button for 60 seconds, replugged the power chord, waited a few seconds and pressed power button.
Cheers for your help.
Great! I'm glad to hear this.
Which model
I followed your technique and it works fine. I solve the problem. Thanks you.
Glad it helped
Hello, i have same problem but with other model, msi gf63 thin 9rcx, please help me
Thanks for your question. Although this video specifies MSI it's good for all makes and models of laptops. The only difference is many laptops with many different ways of accessing the battery and some have a pin hole to reset the power on the bottom of the laptop.
did u find a solution
Great worked for me. Thank you, just holding the power button 20 seconds. I was wondering why this black screen happened as it's good to know why?!
You're welcome. Glad it worked for you. Excellent question. the simplest answer I have is dirty power or issues with motherboard not allowing proper flow.
Hi i just want to know what model is this im doing a research about it
Cannot thank you enough. Had the same problem, followed the steps and it worked!
I'm glad I could help. Taking time to comment and thumbs up is a great way to say thank you. :)
It worked for my GS63. Thank you!
You're welcome. Thanks for taking time to comment.
Thank you for your effort
It works at first but now doesn’t work !!
Maybe Butter need to replace or what ?!
You're welcome. It sounds like maybe a bad charging port or general issue with the motherboard that needs to be reflowed. If you like the laptop and fast enough, it's worth it to get the motherboard repaired by your local repair shop.
Thank u ..I just hold the power button for 1 min and it worked
You are welcome
This method just worked for me ds why I subscribed to ur channel thanks👌 the issue now is that my laptop is making a strange sound
You're welcome. I'm glad it worked even though required more effort.
Can you make a video tutorial on how to charge an MSI laptop without charging the battery?
Thank you very much, it worked for me. But in my case I have to do it every day, is there a definitive solution? Why is this happening? Help 😢
Will this solve the issue completely or will we have to always take the back off and do the process over and over?
For some people it's a permanent fix, but if continues to be required, there is an underlying issue that should be addressed and will require troubleshooting
It worked! thanks a lot man.
PC: msi gf63 thin 10sc
Excellent! You're welcome
Worked for me. Thought I was going to have to claim on the insurance until I saw this. Thanks!!
Great! Thanks for taking time to comment
Removed power adapter worked but now im worried because that NEVER happened before 😅😂 thanks!
Glad it worked. Don't worry too much. These things I've seen happen over the years and usually never repeated that I'm aware of. In some cases it can repeat, then we just deal with it at that time. For now, you're working and most likely will continue to be fine for the life of that laptop.
Hello. May I ask what laptop this is in the video specifically?
And also, I’ve done what was instructed; but no luck, sadly.
Thanks, anyways.
Any idea? Thank you
Sorry, aside from this video instruction, you would need someone to look at it. Maybe motherboard needs repair or replacement.
Thx!!! It worked like a charm!!!
Awesome! Thanks for your comment.
Worked on the Msi Gt 77 after ram setting oc. Thx so much for the great tutorial.
Glad it helped. You're welcome.
Can you tell me what actually is the problem of this happening??
I believe I answered this a couple times already in past comments. Maybe it's worth making a video about it. You can review the other comments but its' basically a power blockage needing to be flushed.
Thank you. I did your steps and the laptop worked fine for a few day and the issue is back again. is there any permanent solution?
This sounds like a faulty motherboard. You could try a new battery but could be wasted money if it doesn't work. Better to get it professionally diagnosed and if its' not the battery you won't be stuck with buying one. Just make sure they guarantee results if not the battery, they can take it back and fix the motherboard.
Hi
I bought a new battery and I installed it in the my laptop but, unfortunately the issue still persists. I will try to find a computer store to check what exactly the issue.
Thank you

Thank you very much after i upgraded the ram to 64gb the laptop msi gs75 wont turn on i thought ow no what is this.
Because i knew i did not do anything wrong.
Thanks this helped me alot.
You're welcome. Glad I was of help.
I f'n LOVE YOU. Worked like a charm
You're welcome. Glad it worked.
What did you use to pry it open because don’t have a guitar pick so what should I use
@@Syntxnic You can use anything thin enough like a guitar pick and plastic. Ideally you don't want anything metal because it can short circuit something you might touch inside without knowing it.
You my good man deserve an award thank you ! :)
Wow, thanks!
@TwinBytesInc I took it to a professional, and one of the two RAM sticks were faulty :/
Hello. The issue is how you describe it, but solution didn’t work. Any idea what can I do? Thank you!
If you tried as suggested in the video and tried without battery with adapter plugged in. Maybe it's the power adapter or else is needing a motherboard repair/replacement possibly.
Hey, does this work with brand new laptops? I just got mine but it has the same problem and I want to know before I try anything
This can work with all makes and models of all years. It's not always the solution but certainly is something free you can try yourself before paying anyway. But if it's under warranty still, there is a chance that you could lose your warranty coverage opening the computer.
Wow thank you! I was doing a screen replacement and I thought I killed my laptop. After following your directions, its up and running! Thanks again~!
You're welcome. Glad I could help.
hello, what size screw driver did you use? i have to purchase one in order to open my laptop and i don’t want to buy the wrong one
The type of screws seem to change sometimes from model to model and year to year but generally I use a standard phillips screw driver. The smaller of the two standard sizes that come in any set. I don't know the size number.
Worked for my msi laptop. Thanks.
Great! You're welcome.
thanks for the video, my MSI laptop turns on (power light on) but it doesnt boot up or show anything on the screen, and after a few seconds, the computer turns off... it happens sometimes, specially in cold days or when i take it to coldest places , what could it be?
It could be new battery needed or charger. You could try to borrow someone's universal charger to try.
This definitely sounds like the charging chip on the motherboard. Someone who does motherboard repairs can replace any bad chips etc.
Correct
Sounds like motherboard issue of some sort. I can't troubleshoot here further. Someone needs to look at it to confirm. You've already isolated the issue it sounds like.
Hi Daniel, your video help a lot, i have the same laptop (MSI GL62M 7RDX) i tried it but it still won't turn on, the light indicator in power button is off too. Can you help me what to do with it?? Thanks in advance
I'm glad you found the video helpful but if it still doesn't work. It's either you need a new battery, new power cord or motherboard repair.
My tears of joyfulness, thank you sir. 😭😭😭
You're welcome
Hi! I tried it and it didn't work because the problem was not the laptop's battery! Instead it was something more silly: The interlock cable of the charger was broke, so I changed it and now the notebook works. I put this to also give another solution, maybe it's not your notebook but your charger
Definitely you are correct. I did make a note on the screen in the video at 0:45 that you might need to replace the adapter.
Thank you so much. This video really saved me!
You're welcome. Glad it was helpful.
Thankyou so much. It worked 🎉
You're welcome! Glad it worked for you.
Thank you so much for this! It worked :)
Great to hear! You're welcome!
Bro saved my life
That's awesome!
This didn't work for my laptop unfortunately, don't suppose you've any other tips I can use? If not I may just have to look into getting it repaired
basically it's usually either the battery, power adapter, the outlet it's plugged into or the motherboard. Unless it is turning on but the screen is dead. Small chance of bad memory as well but that usually will make a beeping sound. A bad drive would still show you something on the screen.
Merci beaucoup Daniel, vos astuces m'ont carrément sauvé d'un fort mauvais pas.
Aucun problème. Je suis heureux d'être utile.
Hi from South African vloggers 🇿🇦 😀 ❤️ 🌍
Hello, thanks for stopping by.
@@TwinBytesInc thanks for the reply
@@TwinBytesInc do you know how to prevent it happening again, it happened 4 four times for me I asked service they said motherboard problem and changing it
Im having trouble opening the panel. I dont have a guitar pick any. I tried a card but it didnt do the trick. Any ideas to get it to open?
Maybe I forgot to mention it in this video, but I mentioned it in other videos. Thanks for pointing this out.
Thankyou for the reply Daniel.@@TwinBytesInc
You're welcome
There is a 19V on the circuits of the motherboard. I think that I have to diagnose deeply after watching a lots of videos :-). I am really appreciate about your answers and guide. Thanks.
You are the man!!!! Thought I fried my laptop for good
Thanks for your kind words!
I have mailed but when I opened it I have no battery but video was excellent walk thru
Thank you. Good luck.
Para mí en particular funcionó a la perfección. Nada más que decir, gracias por compartir!!!
Perfecto! De nada
@@TwinBytesInc ill take it to my local computer center and see what they say after taking a look at it but it's physically falling appart I've had it for over 4 years and the screen is basically off of the computer besides the wires keeping it working I've been using it as a desk top for the past year or so
That makes sense now. There are some things like this that I might look at it and say it's not worth fixing it.
Umm, wow, I didn’t think it would’ve worked 🤔 but it did. Thank you!
You're welcome
I think i have the same laptop, but my issue is the keyboard lits up and lits out like pc turning on and off.
Sounds like more of a hardware problem. Try removing all memory and see how it responds. Maybe bad memory. I wouldn't expect a bad hard drive for this to happen. Otherwise, something else with motherboard maybe going on if this video didn't solve it.
Great video you save my life
Thank you for your kind words
Ty ty so so much it wotks
That's so awesome! I'm not sure I can explain it perfectly, but it's basically like "dirty power" or a power blockage of some sort where the power isn't flowing properly to all the components and doing this flushing the power out of the system completely. That's why it takes a little longer to get power when you first plug the power cord back in so it can start flowing again before you can hit the power button.
@@TwinBytesInc I change the 2 fans ... and this happened to me ... I was scared about if I have done something wrong there 😰 ... thanks again
@@w5im597 You're welcome.
That's a cheap thing to try which is possible but no guarantee and we can't troubleshoot here.
Hello sir, can you fix a bootloop MSI laptop in the BIOS? Thanks u sir
