    After 3 years of constant use I shut down my laptop one night, I came back from a truck route 2 days later and found no response from power. Unit was left plugged in.
    I removed the battery and did the power purge as you said, i had to hold the chassis power 15 seconds and then got a board response. After no video I cycled again, booted.
    Thank you very much, I would not have considered this as a procedure.

      Sorry this didn't work for you. It most likely isn't because it's different but because something else happened. if it's not a a power flush or new battery or new charger, it could be the DC jack or the motherboard needs reflow or repair. Some of these solutions may require a laptop repair expert. I hope you find resolution soon.

    Did not work for me, but the fact that you respond to so many and helped so many gets a like and sub from me. I can still hear the computer working and can even hear it boot up after I type my password, but the screen stays dark throughout. It initially turned off when I just tilted the screen back. It was very sensitive to having the screen moved. In fact if I get it to work again I'm not closing the screen or even touching the screen again. Not sure if that gives a clue as to what's wrong with it or not.

    • @TwinBytesInc
      @TwinBytesInc  6 місяців тому +1

      Thank you for your kind words, talking time to comment and your details definitely tell me what's wrong.
      The issue is your screen. The cable or screen inverter is damaged. Your video cable is most likely getting pinched as you tilt the screen. I bet if you put a little pressure on different parts along the bottom of the screen you will notice the screen light up and go dark. That confirms where the issue is but I can pretty much guarantee you need a new screen which they normally come with a new inverter board and cable.
      You could plug an external monitor in and you'll see everything working fine.

      How do you fix a dominator that is shutting down under heavy load it was diagnosed with motherboard failure but I do not think that is the case do you know what the issue could be it has no instant shutting down but rather overheating issues.

    • @TwinBytesInc
      @TwinBytesInc  2 роки тому +1

      Hello Revan. Not sure how it was diagnosed as a motherboard failure, who said it was a motherboard issue? Anyway you also said you believe it is overheating. Maybe a fan isn't spinning properly anymore, maybe not spinning at all. Maybe dust build up or clogged fans with pet hair. You'd have to open it up and inspect the fans to make sure they are free spinning. Also you can purchase a cooling pad for your laptop to help when under heavier loads like lengthy gaming.

    • @TwinBytesInc

      It requires more troubleshooting as any issue could go in a different direction. Maybe bad memory, maybe it is turning on but just your screen is dead, maybe power cord or the outlet you are plugged into. Too much to troubleshoot here.

      Hi Thanks for the Video. I have the same concern but it was after i tried only of removing and replacing a keyboard. After so, my laptop just turns the keyboard on and nothing happens. I use an external monitor that I have been using for this laptop but still no Video.
      History of this, is that moisture may have affected my laptop after being left on a rainy days. And I left it about a week. Molds started inside the room as I returned and as I tried using it the monitor started to flicker and after few days I lost some Keys from working.
      So I tried to check wiring on my keyboard and install them again. But now become worst. Hope you could share more thoughts. Thanks You. Watching from the Philippines.

    UPDATE: After trying everything below, I took apart the laptop, removed all the old thermal paste, cleaned everything (even fans and fan housing), applied new, fresh thermal pads and thermal paste to CPU, GPU and all other parts that previously had thermal paste. Placed a single stick of RAM in the laptop, and closed it up. upon connecting power and rebooting, the MSI logo came up and the laptop is now working. I've been able to use a new storage device and download all drivers and software and everything is working great - no issues.
    My MSI laptop power light flashes white briefly and then just turns orange. The keyboard doesn't light up, but the fans are working and pressing the fans button they go even stronger. Nonetheless, the screen stays dark and never comes up.
    I have tried resetting bios settings via the pinhole / switch and also holding down power 60 seconds with battery removed and with battery in... so far nothing.
    Also, any link to a completed disassembly of the MSI 65 laptop?

      @TwinBytesInc  4 місяці тому

      Thanks for taking time to write. Sounds like you're comfortable diving deep here. Normally you don't need to tear apart the laptop for all that you did. Normally if this issue isn't fixed by what is shown in this video, it means something maybe wrong with the motherboard which needs either reflowing, some chips replaced or entire motherboard replaced.

I recently decided to remove the battery from the Predator and run it from the power supply which came with it. It runs fine. It did not work for me even with reinstalling cmos battery. The story is my laptop is completely ded after replacing the fan and repaste. During the process, when i tried to connect the display cable back to the board, there was a little spark and smoke coming out and it was very quick. Anyway thanks for the video.

    • @TwinBytesInc
      @TwinBytesInc  2 роки тому

      Thanks for taking time to write. Ya, before you even wrote about the spark, I figured you fried the board touching it. You don't even need to see a spark to fry it. But since you did, the full extent of the repairs are unknown. You'd need a professional to look at it and see if the board can be repaired or replaced. The display could be shot too, who knows. You always need to ground yourself when working on the inside of a computer.

      @TwinBytesInc  5 місяців тому

      You're welcome. if you have to do this several times, especially daily, that means there maybe some sort of issue with the power flow. May not be anything to do with the battery or power adapter. It maybe the motherboard that has some sort of issues that needs to be looked at.

    You don't need any tool to separate the bottom on an MSI laptop except for the screwdriver. I was easily able to pull the bottom of mine off by sliding my fingernail along the split and lifting up. Most laptops are not that easy, they'll have screws hidden under the keyboard, they'll have spots holding the bottom on, and sometimes you can't even get inside without breaking the case entirely.

    • @TwinBytesInc
      @TwinBytesInc  Рік тому

      Yes, there are so many variations to how the laptops are built, so instructions very greatly. You can just go by how MSI works, you'd have to look for the specific model of MIS, but for how UA-cam works, I can't do every single model. :)

      I personally don't recommend MSI but at the same time, this issue can happen with any brand. MSI has made some good computers. I always say, you could buy the top of the line product and it dies a week later, or you could buy absolute garbage with bad reviews and it lasts forever and works great!

      You could be on to something there. Sounds like it's possibly a ram issue and you either got bad RAM or the wrong type. make sure if you upgrade it is compatible. you can run a memory test as well which I have a video on.

    Damn that's the exact model I have! But my problem is that it DOES power on and doesn't boot up (long story short but I've done the trouble shooting to determine that's the problem and not the laptop's screen itself that's messed up) . I remember when this happened a few years back I called tech support and after racking our heads together what seemed to work was holding down power and ... Some other buttons I can't remember and it caused the system to turn on and off rapidly while I held this combination, and eventually it showed the main logo on boot up.

    • @TwinBytesInc
      @TwinBytesInc  2 роки тому

      Hi Mark, if it powers on but just won't boot, if there's nothing on the screen and you've already confirmed it's not the screen, then that means there's an issue with the video chip in the motherboard. Probably needs replacing, especially if you've had this issue before and happening again.

    • @TwinBytesInc
      @TwinBytesInc  2 роки тому

      Thanks for your question. It sounds like the problem is the screen. You may need to replace the screen since an external monitor works we know this video won't help. You can try uninstalling the video driver first, reboot and let it detect itself. if still doesn't work, could be brightness level too low. Otherwise, you need to replace the screen.

      Sounds like more of a hardware problem. Try removing all memory and see how it responds. Maybe bad memory. I wouldn't expect a bad hard drive for this to happen. Otherwise, something else with motherboard maybe going on if this video didn't solve it.

      You're welcome. This is a problem if you have to do it every so often. That's a sign there's an issue with the motherboard. you could pay to have the motherboard repaired or replaced, or see how long you can string it along doing this simple fix every few months or so.

    • @TwinBytesInc
      @TwinBytesInc  2 роки тому

      Thanks for your question, and your answer maybe in your question. you said it overheated, that means either fans are not working properly or at all. Maybe alot of dust build up you need compressed air and open the laptop to clean the fans and heat vents. Maybe a cooling pad is required if you are in a warm room. Laptops need to run cooler.

    • @TwinBytesInc
      @TwinBytesInc  6 місяців тому

      These are usually codes that tell you what's wrong. You can lookup the error codes for that specific model on MSI website. There are beep codes for when they make sound and blink codes (maybe called something else) for when it's a light flashing a certain number of times or so many times fast and slow.

The only solution I could find was turning the sleep to 'Never' while on battery and while plugged in and then having the screen turn off after a period of time, so that it does not sleep at all, just allows the screens to shut down.
