People Who Survived Horrific Work Accidents

- These people survived horrific accidents while working. In July 2023, heroes raced to save a man who fell off the Ambassador Bridge that connects Detroit, Michigan, to Canada. In 2022, alarming video showed a UPS employee in distress from extreme Arizona heat. In 2023, a carnival worker hung 30 feet in the air to protect a little girl at the Groves Pecan Festival in Groves, Texas. Inside Edition Digital's Andrea Swindall has more.
The fact that UPS just said the man was "Fine" and then doubled down on their unsafe working conditions is so scary. Did they even watch that video??
Obv it's all the drivers fault for not cooling himself down and making the company look bad... (sarcastic)
With the sort of advancements in air conditioning that it happened over the decades, I don’t buy that excuse either. I live in the Phoenix area, so I should know what the 110° heat feels like. When I was a kid in the 90s, I used to always feel bad for the delivery drivers that drove those old 70s and 80s model postal Jeeps that didn’t have any air conditioning at all. I always wondered how a lot of them made it through the summers like that.
@@djhorn5769 i dont think air conditioning works but air flow still does. All they need is an efficent big electric fan and they will feel just fine. Might even feel cold. That just needs to be connected to a large battery, carriable ones can easily last a whole day even for a big and powerful fan. Those type of batteries have normal wall plugs so compatibility is no issue.
Car battery might work but im not a mechanic so maybe not. To my understanding your car doesnt start without it but otherwise it just sits there. If i recall correctly its designed to give a large amount of electricity for a small duration when a fan would obviously need a small amount for a long duration so there might be a compatibility issue.
It's obviously the driver's fault for not breathing correctly and not drinking water. -UPS
@@iarmycombo5659 probably the easiest solution to atleast try and help the drivers honestly. Fire trucks have been equipped with small fans about the size of your hand attached to the inside roof of the cab for decades. why not use the same thing in delivery trucks if they want to be cheap asses and make their drivers suffer the heat with no ac.
So not a single solution was found to protect delivery drivers from getting disoriented, getting heat injuries or becoming dehydrated due to intense heat in the name of protecting profits?
The solution is get more drivers to replace the other ones
The company doesn't care bout their workers. I bet they fired him n just replaced him with someone else
Scientifically, the dark brown color makes the delivery trucks hotter compared to others like white FedEx and USPS trucks because dark colors absorb heat. So probably the solution is to use lighter colors to reflect heat.
Its a lie about A/C being ineffective because of frequent stops. I am a CDL yard jockey that makes very frequent stops to get out of the cab. A/C Works just fine in keeping me cool. Allot of the air does escape when you open and get out of the door, but not all of it. And the A/C gets the cab cooled down extremely fast. The company just doesnt want to pay for putting A/C in all the trucks and deal with the maintance.
the only thing amazon does for their arizona drivers is making a few 10 minute breaks from the heat mandatory
The family that helped the guy who fell off the bridge need some recognition, Wow, they were on the job quick, i hope they met each other after and i hope if i ever need help there's a lovely, caring family like them nearby.
how mike is not only alive but in terms of his mental and cognitive function how he has recovered so well
It’s incredible
It's insane that he was able to recover from all that within four months?!
@@JustEvertoncalled steroids my dude! You can take legal steroids to recover from injuries quicker
@@robertmaggiobellotti7046 i dont care if he took every military grade super drug out there, its still amazing he recovered so quickly
@@robertmaggiobellotti7046No.. just no.
The one with the UPS worker was very triggering to watch as I had a friend die from dehydration and heart attack after working for USPS in Texas heat, without air condition in their trucks. He did all the proper protocol for trying to "stay cool" while out delivering. I never knew up til that moment that 80% of these service vehicles for postal service, UPS and a few other companies aren't equipped with a/c. He was only 31 when he died.
They taught us about your friend's case during training. I'm from Arizona.
I'm so sorry about your friend 😢
@@tammymyers9828 Thank you❤️
so sorry for your loss🤍 i really hope these working conditions improve and i really hope that you’re doing okay
So sorry for your friend.
The man who had his head crushed is very lucky in that he not only survived but recovered so well that it’s hard to see the injuries. The surgeons did an amazing job!
The doctors did an incredible job putting that guy who was crushed by the slabs back together.
I’m so thankful that family saw that man fall and jumped into action, so he could see his daughter again!! ❤
The face Transplant story was Absolutely Astounding! Wow Wow Wow
No seriously 😮
Yeah truly amazing
Him telling his wife “I understand if you leave me” was heartbreaking, only for her to turn around and say “I’m here till the end” broke me again but in a good way
Shout out to the guy in the suit for sprinting to help.
He’s so lucky they noticed him
FedEx, Amazon, DHL and a slew of other delivery services provide air conditioned vehicles. It’s deplorable UPS and the USPS do not.
I still feel so bad for that UPS guy
Mike Wolo was in such a horrific accident. He healed and recovered so well that you couldn't even tell he's been in a accident.
*an
True. For a moment, I thought that he was a family member of the actual victim...
5:20 shoutout to that loyal wife, women like that don't get the respect they deserve!
People like this in general dont get enough recognition.
Wow! The guy, Mike, who was crushed by the granite slab is a walking miracle. I'd like to shake the hands of whatever surgeons put him back together because they did an amazing job. You can tell he's had injuries, but I would have never guessed they were that extensive.
The fact that the wife stayed even after the accident is really putting tears in my eyes. That's true love right there
Mikes story is incrediblly scary but it’s incredible that he has a second life
He healed quickly too God with that man 🙏
One hundred and forty people stepped forward to give the man a new face. Incredible what can be accomplished now.
Mike seems like a real life miracle. I think I would have given up. Very amazing man.
Relax, they all got paid.
@@HaggisMuncher-69-420 Trust me they didnt. That was donated time for the love of medical advancement
how did the guy with a crushed head survive wow !
Yeah, i wouldn't blame the medics and doctors thinking he had no chance of survival, with the circunstances it would be a unsurvivable situation and yet he survive, a miracle or alot of luck on his side that day
@blackfox7448 true, and I'm sorry, but... a lot*
I'm autistic. You can yell at me now, sir. I'm not able to not correct people. I'm always looking to fix problems and help others. It's a curse that I live by. 😔

Life can change in a split second, so appreciate what you've got! I knew a guy some time ago who lost both legs in a work accident that he described as watching his own legs get mauled by a machine from the boots up. A coworker stopped the machine about halfway up his thighs. He was conscious for the whole thing.
These ceos should be forced to see how long they last through a hot day with no air conditioning and feel how the drivers feel everyday in the heat
1984 I was put in an induced coma for 21 days after being hit by a Van speeding 55 mph in a 40. Inner strength with prayers is why I'm still alive.
inner strenght and your doctors.
They must be blessed for surviving those near-death experiences!
?? Blessed to be put in danger and pain by their own emoloyers, clearly they have God on their side!
Yes 💯 @@kawaibakaneko
What a Feel Good segment !! What Heros those People who knoked on Doors in the 1st Story 😊❤
The face transplant did a good job on his face
Right?! That was really compared to some other face transplants I've seen over the years
jeepers.. Aaron's one tough cookie to not only survive that accident, but to continue on with his life. I wouldn't be able to do it... I'd want to be put out of that misery. And his wife is amazing too, for staying by his side regardless of how he looked and the new disabilities. That's true love
they really went from a guy getting his skull crushed to a guy falling in poopoo 💀
Nahh
Sewage is pretty dangerous. Idk how much human waste can hurt you, but pig manure pit fumes can drop you in seconds, then you'll die if you aren't rescued.
Amazon: Your delivery will be delayed due to a shituation.
Took a shower and went back to work? Not me! I would be in the ER seeking an infectious disease doctor's recommendation for post exposure to methane, e-coli, Salmonella, and the works. You can bet I would have called off for the rest of the day!
@@carolisakallas3054 I’m being totally honest my fiancée worked as a maintenance technician in an apartment complex and an apartment overflowed with 💩 and he got a parasite called cryptosporidium it was a gnarly parasite to 😣
The one with the bridge and the guy with the UPS truck that was rough and horrific😮
THAT FAMILY! THOSE HEROES !!!❤🎉 OMG!!!!!
Ups makes so much money yet wont treat their drivers like human beings is disgusting
Thank you guys
I can't believe the guy who fell in the sewage took a shower and went back to work. He sure has work ethic.
Thanks ladies! We have to reach out and take care of each other you know THEY won't.
2:10 business bro jumping immediately in to help is so NYC.
I almost thought it was a reporter
as amazing as it is to transplant almost an entire face, nah 'im sorry but i would rather die than going through that, he will never be able to live properly
I agree. that’s why im so terrified of grizzly’s, they will specifically claw your face off
Thankyou God for sending Angels
The solution of heat Strokes especially in delivery drivers UPS along with others should pay for portable air conditioning since they don't want to use all thier little precious money employees going to get heat strokes and probably die due to Arizona Heat all because companies like ups and others don't want to pay for portable air conditioning to keep their employees safe from dying or having a heat stroke. As someone who had a heat stroke it's not fun.
Inside Edition got my teary eyed at 10:30am
140 surgeons bruh I ain't never heard anybody needing more than 4 surgeons and specialists under proper care
It was a first of its time surgery, also it was not 140 surgeons. It was 140 surgeons and other doctors
That crunch 🤮
Seeing mike's condition got me scared but bless god he recovered❤
@5:09 😢😢😮😮😮😢❤ he looks soooooooo much more normal!!!! I can't believe it !!!!!!!
Mikes face still swollen … glad he’s still alive!
Broken femur is life changing.
You can hear the snap of that firefighter’s femur apart from the sound of the car. WOW.
sometimes in life, you gotta take a breather before going back to it. Give your brain a chance to reset and focus again. the dude with the powerlines absolutely had his life ruined ;(
What happned to Mike is absolutely insane, but damn the surgeons who worked on him did an amazing job all around.
wow mikes story is so crazy. props to him
Wow great job everyone especially the boy and lady
They could just take me out if I was electrocuted. Losing that many body parts and the face is insane
God bless these people. Some make it some dont
mike was for sure created to live a beautiful amazing and healthy life. such a miracle of a man.
I can just imagine being trapped in any of these situations, only to find someone videoing you and screaming, “Help this man! Why isn’t anyone doing anything!” Instead of helping you.
Thanks for capturing my most dangerous moment! Hope to see it on youtube! ^^
IMPORTANT REMINDER: Nobody has done anything to help delivery drivers in intense heat, and many cases of injuries still occur. Everyone assumes someone else will solve the problem, or they wait until it's trendy to protest it.
You all forget about the problems when it's not in your twitter feed, maybe if YOU actually stood the hell up, stopped being a silent coward, these problems would go away. And yes, I mean YOU.
Back when I was kid and smartphones weren't a thing I would hover around the mailbox waiting for Netflix DVDs, letters from pen pals, lego and gameinformer magazines, especially when I didn't have school in the summer. My parents luckily raised me to be chivalrous and always offer a cool bottle of water to your postal worker. I still do that to this day.
@@nickirmen6671 This makes me happy.
I try my best to do the same thing, I once brought them cookies lol.
I wish people would appreciate day-to-day workers more.
That was bad they had those horrible mistakes.
for the guy who lost his arm and most of his face, i saw a tiktok his daughter posted saying “things my dad did” “almost died, not cool.” which is a trend btw
May God bless them
Those surgeons did such an excellent job on the face transplant!
Omg that last one with the guy whos head was crushed by rocks was hard to listen to.
1:57 this is why I quit working for that scumbag company… their little excuses to save money finally struck a nerve after I ended up hospitalized for collapsing during a delivery on one of Ontarios hottest day recorded 40°c(140°F)
in 1993 i was a 10 year old boy enjoying a day bike riding en a lady passing two trucks on a hwy lost control hit me at 110 mph hitting smack head on throwing me over her car and half mile down the road into a ditch i landed. my back right calf was gone my right arm bones were sticking out my skin on my skull peeled back hip was sticking out my right side all my ribs where broken right punctured lung tail bone broken and some other minor injuries i was in a coma for 3 months drs said to my parents that i would wake up brain dead well im here after 3 months i woke up with no brain damage but for 4 years had to go in over and over for surgeries on leg arm and skull but i no its was the lord watching over each time that saved me and he was with these people as well .
Glad you’re okay
New fear unlocked
i watched it all the way through, every descrition made me have a visable reaction
5:05 crazy work he looks amazing ❤
Took a shower and WENT BACK TO WORK?!? I’m sorry but falling in a septic tank is the end of my day
The firefighters leg 😱
It's like you can hear the crunch of his bones shattering😨
@@JustEverton just seeing his body positioning (where his leg was) and the door slowly closing on him, gave me anxiety..
not to mention the femur is the most painful bone to break
my friend fell in a septic tank a year ago.. like he posted videos and photos.. I was so traumatized ....
100% PURE AMERICANS FIRST RESPONSES. GOD BLESS EVERYONE OF YOU.❤
I will say, as someone who does Amazon Flex. (Deliver packages with my own car) when it's hot (I live in Charlotte) sometimes the a.c. is ineffective. There's been times I have been like him and my a.c. Will be blasting. The constant in and out. I almost threw up once. But that doesn't excuse them not having something in play.
wow they did a great job on that guys face transplant
Why am I not surprised in the slightest that UPS is on this list? They treat drivers so poorly, I knew that, but no air conditioning in southwest heat is just nuts.
sedan looks in perfect condition
“Once he got out, he drove home, took a shower and went back to work” that is WILD
How the hell is Mike telling us this story and looks like he has no visible injuries/scars? Unreal
Angels in human form ❤
Right place at the right time.
Thank You Lord God for being with all these people
I’d say the most impressive guy who survived a horrific work accident was Phineas Gage
I praise God every day of my life because he has been so compassionate to me. How still be at large. ?

@2:02 .... Jesus christ, you can hear his bones crunch😮
The femur is the strongest bone in the human body, so it's no wonder it'd make a loud sound! 😫
Why tf didn't the driver put the car in park?!
What's with the antisemitism?
@@formerlyfromthefuton8171 what?
the Guy that fell down in the sewage - He went home took a shower and went back to work ! bro ! 😎
Why not show the entire video of the car being pushed back over?!?!
🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿
Yall should have structured this compilation with the get who was electrocuted last because the guy who got his face smashed went on explaining his injury like it was sooo much worse than what it was especially when he made a full recovery and you can't really tell it happened but the electrocuted guy is way worse off and more traumatic than him.
I was wondering if anyone else noted what an incredibly different story the pictures told than what he was saying! Not in implying that it wasn't traumatic, just not at all what he was describing.
Imagine losing your face ut literally melting from electric shock?
