    Shostakovich as purveyor of high-quality light (and occasionally slightly eccentric) entertainment in this charming Suite. It really is very attractive music and made me smile this morning. Highlights for me are the two Dances, the second Waltz and the Finale.

    I would love to have seen these dances performed by Swing bands in American movies of the 1930's-40s. Syncopated. Dmitri would have loved it.
