Government involvement in healthcare has decreased service, raised cost, and created massive inefficiency. "Irrelevant to the process."
One your best shows yet. I watch when I’m working out indoors during bad weather. Can’t agree with you more; taking care of the employees is the single best way to have a successful business.
My health insurance plan, has an app that I downloaded which is very helpful. I can verify that my providers are in network.
Very helpful! 💚
It is only as accurate as it is updated.
Thank you
Great show and info as always 😊
10:58 - "Local" contractors: Next door and FB groups are OK but yelp is FAR better because you will have hundreds of reviews to look at (and they are usually pretty easy to filter for legit reviews) as opposed to likely less than 5 or 10 recs by the locals FB and NExt door groups.
The employees at my nearby Wal-Mart are fabulous. I know that’s not true everywhere, but it always comes down to leadership.
In the past, my explanation of benefits for medical costs would show the amount billed by doctor, the amount the insurance paid and the amount I need to pay. Now the EOP for in network provider shows the original amount billed and a revised reduced amount that the doctor is allowed to bill but does not show the insurance co. paying an amount only the amount that I owe. Anyone else have this happen?
Prayers for the families of those lost in the Baltimore bride collapse. Such a terrible tragedy.
💚
Thank you for answering our question (Sam from Ohio) !!!!! We really appreciate it!!!!
Thanks for being a part of the show! 💚
So many things to be aware of. Unnecessary surgeries because a hospital requires a quota from their doctors, kick back to doctors for prescribed medications.
The local company issue is a big problem. I tried to find a window washing service and ended up on some email and calling list for a big time national company that has an F rating on the BBB

"Put your phone down", I hear from Clark as I'm listening to this video at 3:30 am, unable to sleep!
Ha, right! 😂💚
I go on my local community Facebook group and get great recommendations for local business's.
Thanks for sharing a real-life example that it works! 💚

Of course you always do your own IRA anyway, but that doesn't help the missing 401k issue. This whole employer dependent medical and retirement debacle is, and always has been, a complete disaster.
💯
Thank you Team Clark.
If you ask they that question they’ll tell you to call your insurance company, they don’t know and don’t care.
I am sorry that was your experience however not all employees are the same- I sincerely care about our patients and have a list provided to verify insurance however sometimes a patient do have insurance changes they are not aware of! ❤ Gramma Laura

@@lauracasanave5304 Thanks for your caring service! 💚
This is also happening in dental practices. Got to my appointment and was told they didn’t take my insurance anymore
So glad they told you before treatment vs treating you and billing you for out-of-network prices. 💚
It may be..I have also heard the complaint about today's employees is they don't have the same go-getter high energy as the ones from the past. Think, as silly as it sounds, the feeling you got at a restaurant in the 80s and 90s. The employees did seem friendly, warm, and did not seem as stressed. So, if employees don't feel stressed, they might be friendlier. Or, mental health and sociability has declined and this has resulted in a less friendly service. All in all, I have noticed a change and life is not the same as it was before the 2000s. I would say friendly people exist in a lot of places, it's really hard to measure this perceived "don't want to work any more" idea. We are at low unemployment, there is also less incentive to work manual jobs when if I look around my apartment most cars are home because they are working from home.
Love you Uncle Clark❤ but I have been doing Insurance verification for 10 years- I am 61- However as a patient I am aware I am solely responsible to know where my insurance is in network or a Non Par provider♥️TY
Thanks for your expertise! It benefits both parties, so it would be helpful if the front desk staff could double check and alert the patient if anything has changed on their end too. Or at the bare minimum put a sign at the sign-in sheet that says, "We are no longer in-network with X insurance." 💚
Insurance raised 350%!!!!
😲
That's 10 years
I've been told by doctor's offices & their websites that it is MY responsibility to determine if they are in network.
That's just wacky.

What about a group like Angi?
yelp is FAR better because you will have hundreds of reviews to look at (and they are usually pretty easy to filter for legit reviews) as opposed to likely less than 5 or 10 recs by the locals FB and NExt door groups.
Nope because Angi is a bought and paid for service. yelp is FAR better because you will have hundreds of reviews to look at (and they are usually pretty easy to filter for legit reviews) as opposed to likely less than 5 or 10 recs by the locals FB and NExt door groups.
Great tip, Clarkie! 🙌 There are great services like Angi, Thumbtack, and Taskrabbit. Be sure to read the ratings and get several quotes before deciding whom to hire.
Such a rip off.
Our reliance on insurance is one of the false gods Deuteronomy warned us about. That needs to change.
Agreed!
Generic Lab Work in CA can cost $1,500--$5,000. If the LAB (Lab Corp) you use is NOT in your network YOU WILL GET THE BILL.
