This video is the perfect example of social media. As long as the door closes, IDGAF. My bedroom has 2 big sets of bifold doors for the wardrobe. So 4 hinges per door. No two hinges line up. Every hinge, different height. They didn't even attempt to line them up either lol. Its chaos and i love it.

Bruh - i did this to all my interior doors - of course all my hardware in my house is chrome so doing this just makes things pop even more. Totally worth it easy and kid of fun
it's not faster to refinish the old hinges, but it's also not the Zeitgeist to throw away things that are easily fixed. Each of the new hinges comes with unnecessary impact on the environment, as new metal has to be mined, refined, processed and transported around. It's not much for a few hinges, but it adds up when sticking to the mindset.
Pick yourself up a Vix bit for $10. It's a self centering drill bit that makes quick work of installing hinges. No more marking and drilling. Easy breezy and perfect every time. I figured with all the bad advice you were getting I'd try actually helping you out.
Think one of the arguments was it’s a waste. Gloss usually scrapes off easily. So you save some time painting, refitting, possibly having to find and get from the store, plus a few a dollars. The message should really be do what works for you.
I dont mind painted hinges. But painted electrical outlets are just 😡🤬 my mom use to do it. You wont believe the issue and problems it led to overtime. Imagine removing an outlet with all the paint job the house had since it was built. Insane
@@RLLWoodworks the house we moved out of and are about to list for sale. We had the contractor take the doors off the hinges to paint then reinstall the hinges. It looks so much better.

Idk Nate Petroski does some of these vdieos as well dismantling criticism he gets, so maybe it's a good thing, but I have my doubts giving these Debbie downers more ammunition is a good thing. The Internet always knows best 😅 you can't turn hinges round there's a specific way they need to go on. The side with most knuckles should always go on the frame anyway.
