That was lit! I have a mud room that we want a "hall tree" look, but it would be a custom size build and this gives me some ideas on how to approach it. sweet.
Thanks. Unfortunately I couldn't as right beside mine on the other side of the wall was a bedroom closet, but if you have the know how and the free space, that's up to you. My space is 3' wide, 29" deep and about 80" tall
Honestly it was just off the cuff. I knew where I wanted to go and worked backwards. I started with a seat height of 20" tall. I used 1.5" thick material for the top, and another piece of .5" mdf below that, plus another .5" mdf in the middle. I subtracted all that from my 20" and then I split that into 2. That is each opening size for the shoes. Then I just double checked my tallest shoe/boot that I had to fit in it to make sure it would work. For my depth I figured out the length of my longest boot and made it just slightly over that, and then double check that I still had ample space behind it to fit boots in the rear cubby. Like I said, I started from my 20" measurement and worked backwards, the rest was off the cuff that worked for me. Hope that helps
Wow! I want to do this in my entryway closet. It’s a normal closet with bifold door. I absolutely hate bifold doors! But I’m also afraid I would not actually like having to see all my “stuff” all the time with coats hanging it in. So I’m just gonna wait a while keep it the way it is for now.
I am the same way, and honestly, I love the look and convenience of it more than I dislike having everything out. Couldn't be happier. Thanks for watching
Thanks. Off camera I actually held up a couple different coats and I liked the height. 1" lower could have worked, but I didn't want the coat bottoms to be so low they dragged on the seat and made it hard to open if they were in the way. It was a balancing act to keep the coats floating instead of dragging
I LOVE the hidden storage idea since the closet is deep. I will have to attempt this.
Thanks! We really like it. Good luck on yours, let me know how it goes

Wow!! Nice!!
Can you you tell me how you went about measuring for the bottom storage unit?

What are all the lumber materials you used?
Great job!
Thanks! I used 1/2" mdf for most of it, a little bit of trim you can buy, and some 2×8
@@JessedoesDIY thank you! And amazing job again!
That’s too much to me🥶
It was a big job
Not bad but those hangers are a bit too high. 2-3 inches lower would be easier to hang.
