  • This is the first video in my Middlefield Ohio video tour series. This was a really fast production mill about 5 minutes from my house. The mills I'll be showing in this series, they don't nomally let people video the operations but we got to video them so hope you all enjoy.
    The Echo sawmill is made in Romulus New York by the brother of the guy who makes the timber buddy sawmill. The Echo is a heavier duty sawmill than the timber buddy, that's the main difference.

      Pretty sure it's a fairly new amish company building them. One of the reasons Marvin wanted to go see it is because it is the first one in my area. There's a LOT of sawmills here.

    If it is too cold to run the sawmill just take a field trip!

      it's the difference between portable and fixed sawmills. Portable need to be narrow and short to fit the roads, fixed can be as big as they want.

    Thank you for the upload! Any idea how the setworks work on this machine? It looked like they did a lot of manual adjustments.

    Looks like a very efficient & well greased operation... Complete opposite of "AxeMen" that are constantly yelling at each other...for drama??

    Good video. That mill is just like yours......except a little bigger.
    Looks like Marvin's de-barker valve has a small leak.

    I saw this sawmill on tractor trailer yesterday. Never heard of this brand before. Looks well built.

      I'll take cold over heat any day. I fell timber in 12 degrees in a t shirt because you get hot if you actually work.

      @@treeclimberdave I compromise...I would rather work in 40 degrees than 90 degrees but you can have your 12 degrees all to yourself, I'll be in by the woodstove! 🤣

      It's built by an Amish company, I think cost was around $70k

      it can cut 40" dia x about 30ft long

    Do you have any idea what their market is in that portion of Ohio? Flooring, cabinetry, etc...?

    How many logs can they cut before changing to a new blade?

      I'd guess 10-12 unless they are really big logs.

    Saw band is not 2 inches thick, it is 2 inches wide... Please know what you are talking about. The old round saws weren't even 2 inches thick.

    Turbo 4cyl Diesel engine maybe 70 to 85hp but I don't see 120hp seems kind of high

      It's 120hp, I think he said it's a John deer engine.

    2 inch wide not thick the cut width is the thickness
