I don't see it as being his whole world since he rarely thought of her, but that that type of person she is is the one that he thinks of in regards to romance.
She definitely seems to represent the kind of sweet wholesomeness he thinks of as love or romance

Deku has a point. Toga seems to enjoy harming the people she “loves.” People who enjoy hurting you, be it physically or mentally, do not love you.
No, that makes them sadists. That doesn't mean they don't love you. It just means it's not healthy. And in her case, it's not even that. It's unhealthy still, but her love is just because her quirk shaped her mind to perceive it like that. This is different entirely than any real world example.

Exactly!! Thank you and straight up facts!!! Because That's what I've been saying and yet the toxic fandom especially the TogaFanboys won't and don't understand or even accept that, they keep thinking that toga x Deku makes sense but in reality it doesn't because she still wants to kill him.

5:44 Agreed. Ochaco and Deku really didn't say anything wrong. But its like they say one thing and she heard something else. Even Curious, while she WAS trying to kill her, didn't say what she think she said. Here are what they said that she hated:
Curious, again while they're trying to kill each other, basically said Toga was a victim of her quirk and society's view of her.
Ochaco basically said actions have consequences, and you can't just do as you please or use your situation as an excuse to do so.
And all Deku said was, while he empathizes with her, he doesn't feel the same as her (and what she doing is wrong and she needs and should have gotten help).
And Toga took that as meaning: Since you're not normal, you're not human, can't be saved and should be "thrown away like trash."
Toga's mad at everyone "rejecting her," but because she doesn't see things like Ochaco and Deku does, nor want to, she doesn't realize she's rejecting them, and may have rejected others, due to not hearing them out because they're not saying what she wants them to hear.
Toga have one messed up mind.
I can see why she reacted the way she did to Ochako, but I don't see why she reacted to what Deku said. He only said he wouldn't hurt people he loves. Idk how that translates to Toga isn't a person.

True but if Toga didn't mess with curious in the first place she wouldn't tried to kill her even if she did, it would've been a good thing since toga is too far gone into madness especially lying to Ochako during that confrontation so her being rejected by others isn't surprising but it's surprising to toga with her screwed up logic. Deku and Ochako have every right to reject toga and should never have any sympathy after everything she's done to them including their friends.

I think that Toga never understood what love truly was because of her upbringing her parents really didn’t show much love towards her and never got her help if they had then I think she would turn out different
Agreed, I am sure that her blood urges could be sated through blood packs and proper counciling when she was younger honestly I do believe that the parents were largely at fault in her situation as well due to them not attempting to work through the problems and ignoring the main issue.
But that doesn't excuse her actions nor the consequences that she should rightfully take as a result by all means if she dies in this war it deserved after all she has done.

@@theadventurer2628 Doubtful. Izuku himself says he would have probably ended up more like Gentle, not Toga. Gentle is not a violent killer for hells sake. And even then Izuku had no quirk so he would have arguably done less than Gentle. He's smart, but those support items aren't cheap. The Hero school funds most of that.
Knew it wasn't gonna happen. But now Uraraka has a montain to climb in terms of helping Toga. Words have more impact than people realize and if she wants to help Toga she's gonna need to say A LOT more than what she said to the public to let Deku back into U.A.

There is no redemption for Toga. Toga is a bloodthirsty mass murderer who is obsessive and doesn't want to be saved.
Uraraka is a giver to the point of continuously hurting herself when she needs to draw boundaries. This is a flaw and weakness. It is not something becoming of a hero or a redeemer
A lot of things crossed my mind for Toga:
For all of her complaining about wanting to live how she pleased, she is unable to afford the same "freedom" to anyone else but her and her crew.
I'm pretty sure she learned her mindset from her parents (especially mom) and the society thereof. (Everything must be how I imagine you to be, and at your expense, because your opinion on what I want from you doesn't matter. Also, if I destroyed you, it's your fault for being weak; if you destroy me in retaliation, you're a cruel monster.) Toga literally doesn't know any other way to function.
Some one else mentioned that part of what makes her dangerous is the fact that she's unpredictable and cannot be conventionally reasoned with. With how her mindset is, other people's thoughts/lives didn't weren't part of the equation for anything she really had a true desire for, so using any argument that includes anything like that won't get you anywhere with her.
She doesn't even know what she wants. She a lost, abused, neglected, homeless, shunned minor who never truly had her needs addressed or her mental health properly treated well enough to develop well in ANY capacity. She got teenage puppylove raging during puberty with an unstable mental state and unhealthy attachment styles. All of this... mess... swirling inside and around her... She thinks and behaves like a wild child that doesn't know what she wants until it's presented to her, then she turns it away because the "warmth" burns after an entire existence in the societal south pole. She could end up being another tragic character that ultmately doesn't get saved. It happens SO much with kids like that, and success stories are far and few between...

She's turning into her parents in respect to the rest of the world, I think. Ironic, considering how she murdered people over being put in a box not her choosing, but dangerous because she potentially can enforce her will on way too many people with way too many casualties. With that, though, what makes her think other people won't fight her if she puts them in a "box" of her own expectations? For all her intelligence I don't think she thought that far ahead, but it stands to reason people will wig out and reject the order she tries to make, just like she did since middle school.

I used to joke about certain characters like Toga and how they even came to realize their quirks but the story has made it clear that quirks are a crucial part in a person's development. And in cases like hers it is an urge to consume blood. She has been dealt a bad genetic hand and society wasn't equipped to deal with that. So her desires have become confused and twisted with the love she never received from her parents because of the urges brought on by her quirk. A vicious mental cycle only being satisfied by quenching her thirst for blood. She's complex but also incredibly easy to understand as a character. I even feel like she may be the best written of anyone in MHA. She's mentally damaged and a product of a society that only looks out for powers that are deemed marketable. She is the true representation of the dark side of Hero Society. It makes me wonder if Stain didn't have the strong convictions that he has would he have fallen down a similar road as his power also requires the consumption of blood. Would he desire it as much as Toga?

Hori is doing it on purpose. He mentioned before that he doesn't want the villains sympathized with too much. The point is to listen to their feelings and work on that so no one else follows that path, but that none of them automatically deserve forgiveness. They will have to go to jail and atone for everything they did or die if they refuse at that point.

Ah, it seems my assumptions were correct. Deku didn't outright reject Toga, but he did tell her something reasonable: Love does not make you hurt people. Despite her sympathetic backstory (the neglectful parents, not receiving therapy for her quirk, etc.) she cannot use her own insecurities as an excuse to murder innocent people. Like, we get where she's coming from, but from a moral standpoint--she's crossed the point of no return. Even if she somehow gets redeemed, she has taken way too many lives to get off completely scott-free. It's like what Uraraka said: There will be consequences. Toga will have to pay for the crimes she's done if she survives the war arc, whether it be serving time in Tartarus or death. In fact, if she makes it to a court trial and pleads the Insanity Defense for her crimes, there are high chances she will be locked up in a mental asylum for the rest of her life because by now, she's too distrusting and unpredictable for the heroes to just accept and let roam on the streets.
Alot opinion ls and assumption , especially fir a fictional world. Her quick is responsible for how she acts, but please neglect that. If she had care bear quirk. She would be a different person. So to separate that from her is injustice.
I agree. If she can recognize that it was "wrong" and not "loving" for Hawks to kill Twice, she ought to know that killing people is wrong, no matter how good it makes you feel. If she won't even accept that it's wrong to murder, than she can't be with people, period.

Do you forget the limits of Twice's quirk. He may make a perfect copy that can use that person's quirk but they will act of there own accord. Like if twice copies bakugo he would still act as backugo. The copies aren't fully under his control

I don't think it's necessarily a romance thing but a love thing. Toga doesn't fully understand the concept of love and Deku uses Uraraka as his example of love. Love isn't always romantic etc.

Soooo a detail I’m noticing is one I’ve been waiting for. Deku’s eyes. They’re struggling to keep light in them. He’s going to relapse. His exhausted empathy has been beneath the surface wearing on him this whole time. For those that don’t remember the rogue arc all that well, I brought up JUST how permanent of a scar it is when it happens. And there are few positions more vulnerable if at all. Why? Because an empath becomes vulnerable to EVERYONE’S insecurities in REMOTE proximity and can’t tell the difference between someone else’s and their own when they are exhausted on the empathetic level. Because it won’t shut off. And it will continue to build up until they can barely see themselves anymore. So it takes someone ELSE to untangle it. Ordinarily the person with the most trust of said empath. In this case, Uraraka. And if you ARE lucky enough to be untangled you get the lovely constant doubt of wondering what is yours and what isn’t. Yeahhhh. The strain on the heart can kill you.
Now that Deku’s eyes are losing light, I’ll be paying close attention to his facial expressions. Because he’ll stop emoting. Or the faces will be VERY hollow. He is in NO shape for this finale. We still don’t even have confirmation what % he’s fighting at! AFS is at 99.9%, and we can ASSUME Deku is at 45%. And OFA is BY DESIGN the underdog to AFO even with MAXIMUM arsenal. Prime 100% AND all quirks out. I HAVE to keep mentioning this. It’s realistic for him to face 60-70% but not PAST that at this level.
Another thing I need to keep mentioning is All-Might HAS to get on the field with help from Eri. And for that to happen, AFO needs to use her 1st because she has a short horn. And AFO is the only one with the quirks to charge her. Particularly his many boosters and forcible quirk activation. If Eri can’t use rewind on herself, than AFO won’t take the quirk because he’d want it for no reason but on himself. And offensively he has little to gain anyhow BECAUSE All-Might isn’t on the field and he would NOT want to sap OFA. They NEED to collide for things to even REMOTELY go to plan and not be a stomping on the heroes.
Uraraka and Tsu vs Toga is going to be an awesome showdown. I hope Uraraka TRULY unlocks gravity control here. Yes that would stomp Toga and Sad Man Parade but honestly…that’s the point unless Monoma enters the field. (It won’t be noticed til she’s in peril like Shigaraki’s decay which is REMARKABLY similar in structure…so that tell’s you how strong she can get) Toga has officially closed herself off to both Deku AND Uraraka now. And Deku even tried to look through HER perspective to connect. Emotionally only a family confrontation can turn her around. And Monoma is just SCREAMING that role. Uraraka is best at Deku’s backup. Presumably later on in this chaos.
I can SEE what needs to happen. I see what IS happening. This has me COMPLETELY on edge. It’s a VERY good 50/50 of who will be the victor. Hoo boy.

I haven’t seen you in a while. I do hope Deku does end up with somewhat sever mental trauma after this war. I want Class A to realize just how bad of a situation Deku is in, and i want Uraraka to have a big moment with. Her speech was kinda stolen from the star head dude. If Horikoshi does this right, then Deku’s personality will be unrecognizable to Class A. Bakugo might compare it to Deku’s attitude during his middle school days but it should be way worse than that. I can’t wait for the upcoming chapters

Particularly % control, and the confirmation that there’s a strong enough player that can FOR CERTAIN be able to stand in and take on at LEAST 1 AFO force. And with the constant gaslighting, heart playing, trolling, and belittlement AFO has, it likely won’t take much for Shiggy to do the same if AFO doesn’t do some FOR him. AND Search the quirk entails weaknesses as well. Deku’s emotional health is VERY likely not going to wait for its limit to be reached til after. And with the immense emotional control needed to use 7 of the 8 necessary quirks, it’s just a disaster waiting to happen. (Not including pass. The 2nd I still standby being already primed and ready.)

At this point, Horikoshi is gonna need to bring one hell of a backstory that blows our minds for me to understand why Toga is the way she is AND for me to empathize with her plight. Notwithstanding all the people she's killed, Toga has shown genuine moments of goodness inside of her from time to time, especially when Twice was still alive, but she has no concept of boundaries; if she did she wouldn't be rejected by so many people.
Uraraka on the other hand has shown time and time again a willingness to protect the people she cares about. In fact, the more she cares the more protective she becomes, thus explaining why Deku and Tsu are her two closest friends. It's Ochako and Toga are simply polar opposites of one another but desire the same thing.
I was just thinking about something like this : Toga has no idea what love even is. Like she never truly felt love from a person. The villains may say they love her but they had a demented view life in general so they wouldn’t be able to truly Express love. The only thing that she wants and loves is Deku because it’s what makes her smile. She thinks that love = Things that give her joy or things that except her. Because she lives a life where the only things that matter are what makes her feel happy. That why she says that Deku and Uraraka are just like her parents because they don’t let her indulge in her bad habits just like her parents
This is why I love my hero academia so much character development the fact that romance could be a cool thing with romance at the end of the actual story
Sadly we can’t say the same of the fandom of MNHA who ship deku with people that makes no sense like bakugou and todoroki and Midoriya and I know people say”it’s their ship let them be” they are shipping people that makes no sense and this happens in most fandom too. 2 males hang out together for 2 seconds. There's a limit to what can be forgiven and what people can be saved. Think about it. Regardless of what Toga or Shigaraki have been through, do they really deserve redemption? Can they really be saved? Think about it.

Here is an interesting question. If Deku said that he would let her have a little of his blood and she took it and consumed it would the power of OFA in his blood then lead to her death or would it just put such a strain on her that it would take her out of the fight?
In this case, quirk singularity and the power of OFA would lead to her being taken out without Deku actually harming her. He could warn her that the blood is dangerous and that consuming it would be dangerous so if she decides to still consume it then he cannot be held responsible for what happens.
Oddly enough, if Toga then consumed the blood and it came to destroy her body I think Toga's twisted mind would think that it was a sign that Deku truly loves her or that this is happening because her love for him was too weak compared to his feelings. My only issue with deku bring able to “ save” these villains is is that his thought process is too one sided. There isn’t very much middle ground, and in a world of grey such as this ( and our own) where most of the main cast sees white vs the opposition viewing it as black, I think it would be verrry hard to sway the villains to our side or change their values to “save” them in a cathartic manner. IMO the only reason Lady Nagant was able to be swayed (BACK) To our side was the fact that her world was gray.

i think almost everyone here has overlooked the most basic thing about Togas story: she has never been accepted. not by her parents, nor society and that is only made worse by the impulses of her quirk. while the question "what will you do to me" seems kinda strange on the surface, its because thats not the question she is asking. she knows the answer she wants, that being "ill save you". if you think about the question in that context, the question becomes "do i matter?" which is something shes talked about previously. that villians dont matter, people that dont conform to the societal norms dont matter in this world.
basically, toga feels that she has never been loved. that she has no one that cares about her, and she has felt this way since childhood and that has really warped her mental health. that why when she is told that her way of expressing herself is wrong, she doesnt see it as a need for a change. she sees it as more rejection because shes different and that feeds more into the idea that she isnt loved or cared for.
toga is a really tragic character that i believe couldve ended up differently had someone reached out and helped her when she was younger

I may be a bit too late for this to show up to anyone, but I think Toga snapped not from the words themselves but the implication of them on her ideology. Unlike others she sees blood as natural and is completely fine and fascinated with it, so to become the ones she loves so very much by consuming their blood is a natural way of love for her, by them condemning her actions and questioning her ways makes them perceive it as wrong when in truth it’s irregular. This makes her realise that the two of them were just like everybody else, like her parents who wanted her to be normal and not what she was. I think she snapped because her idea of love itself, her love and nature was rejected by the ones she held in such a desired position. That’s my take on it anyways.

While Himiko is right that she has the right to live the way she wanted, her behavior started to make me think that what she had for Ochaco and Izuku were not loves but merely attachments, considering that she became easily angered and managed to easily discard those "loves" after they answered her question. But I would not consider her to be kicked out of the game yet because if Izuku decided to return the feelings and help put her on the right path, then the chance they may ended up together is still there and so dose the competition between her and Ochaco to have him. But still, the best option is that he acquired both of them as his girlfriends!

I like to place a thought I have about Toga in villain academia in the scene where she was corner, she transformer to uraraka because she wanted to die looking like one of the people she likes and because she likes uraraka her quirk evolve allowing her to use other power. This is also that’s bugging me completely is that toga constantly keeping saying that she and uraraka are the same but they’re not 😤 because I believe that toga sees uraraka as the person toga wants to be the “normal” that her parents wants her to be but toga placed a warp mirror in front of her and uraraka thinking that they’re the same but they are the opposite as are passion and desire are 😑
