Hi there - please could you tell me what you use to attach your pressed fresh flowers to set fondant (not buttercream) icing. I'm trying to find edible spray glue as liquid glue is too gloopy for my very fine flowers.
So helpful. A quick question - how long in advance of the day the cake will be eaten, would you add the flowers/foliage? Could they be added a couple of days before and then the cake stored in the fridge? Or would they go soft or bleed into the icing?
Hi Elizabeth, my completed cake was in the fridge for 48 hours before consumption and had no issues with bleeding into the icing or going soft. I can’t say what would happen beyond that unfortunately. Good luck xx
@@oli45c, thank you so much.
@@elizabethgrilli8603 no problem xx
What species are those green fern leaves?
How long can you store the flowers before you put them on the cake and in what kind of container? In the pantry or the fridge?
Question, do I have to press the edible flowers before putting them on the cake? if I don't will they fall out?
Wonder if i could do this at home but i dont feel safe putting paper or tissue paper in the microwave 🤔
How many flowers would you suggest for a two-tiered cake?
I used one punnet for this cake so I would
Definitely go for two on two tier cake, I couldn’t specifically tell you how many flowers you need exactly as it would depend on the the size of your cakes, spacing between flowers and the size of each flower.
Where did you buy all the edible flowers?
I purchased mine from a local fruit
Marker you can also buy online and there is a new supplier that has opened called bloomish.co they have a gorgeous range of edible flowers
@@oli45c thank you so much.
Your cake is beautiful..
Thanks kindly xx
@@oli45c can we eat the flowers?
Is that a real flowers n leaves,,does it give bitter taste in cake,,,???
They are real edible flowers and leaves. I personally didn’t eat the flowers or leaves as I gave the cake away. However I have eaten an edible flower in a donut before and found to be quite nice. I suppose if someone didn’t want to eat the flower when serving the cake you just cut off the outside layer of frosting,
@@oli45c really appreciate, how quick u r on replying,,,thankx u so much
