  • I show you what to look out for when buying a rechargeable USB fan. They look identical but there's a few differences!
    CDRKING currently have two different USB fans for sale, one is 180 PHP and the other is 200 PHP.
    P180 CDRKING BRANDED:
    Brushless motor (more efficient, longer lasting)
    18650 battery
    Input: 0.5A
    Low: 1.6W
    Medium: 2.4W
    High: 3.8W
    Low quality charge cable with thin wires. Gets hot in operation.
    P200 Snowflake branded:
    Brush DC motor (less efficient)
    18650 battery (15% more capacity than CDRKING branded)
    Input: 0.5A
    Low: 1.2W
    Medium: 2.6W
    High: 5.7W
    Good enough quality charge cable.
    You can remove the battery from the handyfan and charge it in an external 18650 battery charger. You can also have spare batteries or run the fans directly from a powerbank or USB power supply.

    Bringing one like this outdoor and a solar charger makes a difference in camping. This is very cheap and convenient.

    I don`t recommend you buying external chargers unless its made from a good branded company. The generic ones, if you open it, looked at the circuit board, the main separation will most likely be dangerous. The transformer inside it will most likely be dangerous.
    Primary and Secondary must have good isolation.

    Those micro usb connectors break all the time. I have had 3 of them break with the SM Fan you can get with Advantage Card. I soldered one back to life, but dang it gets old. I have one black one that has lasted 3 years and is still working great though.

    • @GadgetAddict
      @GadgetAddict  7 років тому

      Really? I've not experienced that yet. Are those the original SM ones which were higher quality with a thick matt plastic or the newer lower quality one with the weak shiny plastic? SM/Ace started with a high quality model and then swapped it out for a cheaper one later :(

    • @webdev217
      @webdev217 7 років тому

      The good one yes with matt finish. The ones that broke were tan color.. this black one seem bullet proof. haha. I bought 4 Acacia brand fans (in pampanga) with Acacia branded 18650's in them rated at 2,000mah.. I just wanted the batteries, but was too impatient to wait for shipping .. they are surprisingly good. I have 4 of them in parallel now with a switch and a 3.7 - 5v board.. fan lasts forever now.

    • @GadgetAddict
      @GadgetAddict  8 років тому

      ***** Yeah they've really grown! It's so useful being able to walk into nearly any mall and buy cheap electronics. No need to order from China and wait so long. And a lot of the stuff they're selling is as good or bad quality as what other shops sell for a much higher price.

    • @GadgetAddict
      @GadgetAddict  7 років тому

      The quietest is the iWata USB fan which I reviewed in another video. The loudest is the dual battery version from CDRKING. The ones in this video are somewhere in the middle.

    • @SushilSahuB
      @SushilSahuB 7 років тому

      do you think it'll be good to put one of these in a cabinet... coz these types of fans are cheaper then the cabinet fans here in india... I'm just concerned about the noise on lowest setting.....?

    • @GadgetAddict
      @GadgetAddict  7 років тому

      They're all pretty quiet on the low setting. If you don't need them to be portable, you can just use cheap 12v computer fans instead.

My ipod 6th gen charging cable got busted (the authentic one) I bought one from cellboy and it cost 150 pesos only. original iphone cable cost 1069 pesos but I saw something on Lazada, Pineng is also selling iphone cable wires. Hope you can review what is the best charging cables than can compete with the original ones.Thanks.

    the fan from ace has a brushless motor... costs 200 pesos if you have an advantage card...

    • @GadgetAddict
      @GadgetAddict  8 років тому

      Yeah, if you have the Advantage card, otherwise it's P400. When they first started selling the HandyFan, you could get it for P200 even without an advantage card. When I went to Ace Hardware in Ali Mall, they said they now only sell it for P200 if you have their specific Ace Hardware branded card. If you can get it for P200 then it's a good deal because it has good plastic, a high capacity battery and a brushless motor. But I wouldn't pay P400 for it.

      Yes, you can swap the batteries with higher capacity versions. I swapped mine to Sinowatt 3300mAh batteries which extended the run time to 15 hours on the lowest setting. Although I doubt they're genuine 3300 mAh batteries because in testing they appear to be closer to 2400 mAh.

    buy the ace hardware version for PHP 399.75
    my classmate bought one and is stronger than the cheaper one my other classmate bought

      If you have an SM or Ace card, you can buy that fan for half the price. But I'm not sure if I'd recommend them anymore because the quality of the fans being sold by Ace isn't the same as before.

    GIVEAWAY!!! USING gleam.io

    • @GadgetAddict
      @GadgetAddict  8 років тому

      Gleam has the benefit of making it easy to collect entrants details but it has the downside of taking people outside of the UA-cam eco-system. It also might lead to less interaction on the video itself. It's unlikely that I'd use a third party site for a giveaway.
