Alot of people think I'm weird for collecting vcrs, old consoles dvds, cd albums, and players. I think they represent a bygone era that we will never see again. A simpler time. I do stream but they're is something about the charm of old home video formats. Those Friday nights when you would watch a movie from the video store and eat popcorn. Those days are gone. I'm a vintage nerd
Not weird at all. I miss the simpler times and it makes me sad we can never have it back. I stream sometimes too and it’s definitely convenient but I think because we have so much access to so many things at once it makes things feel less special. When I was growing up going to rent a movie to watch was a whole event in itself, now we can turn on the tv and instantly have access to the entire “video store” somehow reading the descriptions of movies on the tv doesn’t quite hit the same as holding a vhs and reading the backs. So many of my movie memories also include the trip to the video store to get the movie 😊

Hello again from two years in the future! Even though you’ll see this comment before the older !? I also want to say I hope you ended up organizing by genre and never looked back !!
Yes I did and it made things so much better. An updated newer collection video but older at this point because I had to redo it again because I ran out of space 😂 VHS COLLECTION | VIDEO STORE VIBES ua-cam.com/video/j7WZpQ_yeiY/v-deo.html
Hello from two years after this was posted! I want to say movies from the 30s 40s and 50s are ceasing to become classics as movies from 60s 70s 80s 90s are becoming the new classics, the former I’d refer to as “legacy classics”
I could see possibly having that mindset if I was younger but for me I will never be able to see 80s or 90s movies as classics 😂 Old Hollywood will always represent classic film to me 😊
Very nice collection! There was quite the wave of VHS over last 4-5 years. I went from a modest couple hundred collection to over 2k😂 It got out of control so fast I had to just box them up and now have almost 30 vcr's. It is now getting hard to find them so glad I snagged them up while I could. I'm gonna build shelves that are as deep as vhs tapes are tall, than stack them flat ten high to save space with titles still easily visible and do a whole vintage wall this winter with a vcr tower of power. All hidden in wall recess with panels that open. Keep grabbing them up and check out Joe Versus the Volcano if you haven't. I think you will like that movie.
Thank you 😊 Yes I am happy I started collecting when I did because they are getting a harder to find. I have had to completely change my storage and now I’m almost outgrown that new set up 😂 I think I probably have just under 1000 VHS and a few hundred DVDs so I’m hoping to eventually do some custom custom shelving. That is a good idea for storage to save space. Thank you so much for watching and commenting 😊
I had been looking at those shelves for a while now, so I really appreciate seeing them in action and getting your opinion. Right now all of my tapes are on plastic utility shelves and it's a pain in the butt to find anything.
You’re welcome! It’s been a few months and I think they will be fine, but I would definitely recommend being gentle with them and using some type of wood glue / gorilla glue for extra reinforcement 😊
Thank you 😊 I don’t have Dynasty, I’ve never come across it but if I did see it I would buy it. I’ve been wanting to watch the series from start to finish.
I started collecting all genre and years of vhs now I only collect 2 different genre and the movies I really love no need I keeping movies ill never pop in and watch
this is super relaxing and nostalgic, very nice accent to, greetings from the UK p.s the other movie Gene wilder and richard prior are in together is Stir Crazy 😁
@@VintageVibesJamie Haha, still lucky, only one Thrift Store where I live that has VHS, they also have a nice collection of LaserDisc from an old man, because sadly the old man had to close down his shop. I miss Block Buster.
I love your shelves and what a VHS collection you have But do you watch them, and if so I hope you have an extra player because I know the players are getting harder to find (and mostly always used) 😢I still have a quiet a few, a lot that have never came out on DVD, but then also ones that were changed when put out on DVD (Emmet Otter's jug band Christmas) It has things missing I do ours by tittle I would love to do by time period, but to many are series and have really big (years) gaps, that might drive me crazy (that's me) Fried Green Tomatoes I love, and G.I. Jane is great too A really (in my opinion, I love it ) My Demon Lover April 24, 1987 It has Scott Valentine, and Michele Little Can I ask, is there anything special I mean that your looking for in VHS tapes? I ask because like I said if we can find (at a good deal the ones in DVD) we get it and replace from our VHS tapes I might have some that your looking for If you want me to I will check and send them to you I think I feel like you with having the (series and movies) you love so you can watch when ever you want I feel the same about "real books" 🙂 Thank you again for your video's, and if you think of what I offered please just let me know? Wish we had a basement, that would really help with our collection (movie) space
Thank you! Yes I watch them all the time, every time we find a VCR we buy it so we have 6 or 7 I think 😊 We haven’t had trouble finding any tapes since most thrift stores sell them for $1.00 or less and we find people giving them away for free pretty frequently. Since filming this six weeks ago I have acquired over 400 more. Thank you that’s id a very sweet offer though 😊
@@VintageVibesJamie I didn't mean (trouble finding any tapes), but the players are getting harder to find I'm really happy that you have found so many more, but i'm not trying to sell mine to you, but wanted to see if I might have some that I am not keeping that you might want or need and I can send them to you Please think about it, and check what you might need and let me know? Thanks again I do enjoy your Vintage videos and shares 🙂
I just have a handful of Sinatra CDs and some Christmas. I’m more into collecting vinyl, but my boyfriend has been collecting CDs over the past couple years.
Hey everyone I just posted my updated collection

Oh wow! Awesome collection.
Thanks 😊
Hello again from two years in the future! Even though you’ll see this comment before the older !? I also want to say I hope you ended up organizing by genre and never looked back !!
Yes I did and it made things so much better. An updated newer collection video but older at this point because I had to redo it again because I ran out of space 😂

Amazing thanks for sharing this video
Thanks for watching 😊
Hello from two years after this was posted! I want to say movies from the 30s 40s and 50s are ceasing to become classics as movies from 60s 70s 80s 90s are becoming the new classics, the former I’d refer to as “legacy classics”
I could see possibly having that mindset if I was younger but for me I will never be able to see 80s or 90s movies as classics 😂
Old Hollywood will always represent classic film to me 😊
Very impressive collection!
Thanks 😊
Hello one more time! I love that you love planes trains and automobiles! *edit: and your general love for John candy
Ok last last last one I really hope you’ve watched the last castle since this video! As well as all of Robert Redfords stuff
Nice collection 👍
Thanks
I’m staring a collection too so far I have 2 doctor who vhs a unearthly child and the war machines nice collection 😎👍
It’s a great time to start while they are still cheap and relatively easy to find 😊
@@VintageVibesJamie indeed

Thank you 😊 I don’t have Dynasty, I’ve never come across it but if I did see it I would buy it. I’ve been wanting to watch the series from start to finish.

HI, I'M STEWART, DOMONIQUE STEWART, BY THE WAY. I ACTUALLY HAVE MY FAVORITE ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER VHS MOVIES OF ALL TIME. 🙂👍✌️❤️☺️🎥📀📼🍿💪
Hello 😊
My Collection is small, mainly cause of tight money, and lack of location to getting them. But I'm still happy with what I have.
They are definitely getting harder and harder to find unfortunately, I’ve pretty much cleaned out all the thrift stores surrounding me 😂
@@VintageVibesJamie Haha, still lucky, only one Thrift Store where I live that has VHS, they also have a nice collection of LaserDisc from an old man, because sadly the old man had to close down his shop.
I miss Block Buster.
The Last Castle is exceptional
Respect
Lol thanks
Do a dvd collection video next
I’m planning on posting my current set up within the next month or 2 😊
I love your shelves and what a VHS collection you have But do you watch them, and if so I hope you have an extra player because I know the players are getting harder to find (and mostly always used) 😢I still have a quiet a few, a lot that have never came out on DVD, but then also ones that were changed when put out on DVD (Emmet Otter's jug band Christmas) It has things missing I do ours by tittle I would love to do by time period, but to many are series and have really big (years) gaps, that might drive me crazy (that's me) Fried Green Tomatoes I love, and G.I.
@@7peacefrog I knew what you meant 😊 I’m just letting you know we find all the tapes we want so I don’t need you to send them to us.
@@VintageVibesJamie Sorry, and ok
@@7peacefrog no worries and no need to be sorry 😊
do you also have CD collection?
I just have a handful of Sinatra CDs and some Christmas. I’m more into collecting vinyl, but my boyfriend has been collecting CDs over the past couple years.
