Another amazing video. You are definitely an inspiration for garage based builders! I'm without a garage at the moment, but I hope to remedy this within the next 6-8 months.
It looks a fair bit more interesting with that stripe. I thought a more creamy white would look better but, it turned out awesome. Keep make more content cause I am loving it. Much love from Australia.
Greetings from deep in South Africa, Awesome builds and great vids loving the bikes progression, I'm busy with a Gs 850 turning it into a rat/ bobber with side shocks ,thank you for all the inspiration and great tips.
I really like your builds. They inspire me for my own build. I'm going to convert an old Suzuki GSX 750 es from 84. I'm having trouble deciding whether to go cafe, brat or bobber though. It's the mono shock edition and it looks really good as a bobber, but I like cafe's better. But to change from a two seater to one seater in Sweden is kind of a hassle due to strict laws. Really like your channel. Keep up the good work.
Like that it's fun. Doing a bike and my next step is finding an engine! I'm using rattle cans for now hopefully I can get it powder coated one day and have the frame look great
Thanks. Cellulose is fine with overspray, a little dust in places but comes off with a duster. If it was 2k it would be a lot worse and I'd have to be in a booth.
Brilliant call on the second stripe! Makes it really stand out and breaks it up. Have you ever thought about pin striping your logo and/or brand onto the tank? Also, where do you get your knowledge from about the bikes etc? It's pretty sound and thats where I worry about doing a project myself.
Not a bad idea. As for knowledge it's all learning over years of playing with motorbikes and engines. If you want to do a project yourself then the best way to learn is hands on.
The second, small stripe really makes it pop! Good call, man. I have to ask: how much easier was it to spray red over white than it was to spray white over the red? I was surprised when you laid the red down first on you first go at the tank. Looks great, looking forward to seeing the rest of the build!
+fredthebarber I tend to do the inner colour first. To be honest either colour covered really well and no colour showed through. But I did leave this to try enough first
The tank is looking great! You've convinced me to paint the tank on my bike as well. If I have any questions about my build, what's the best method to ask? Cheers !
For The Bold - dreegez so I'm struggling to find a speedometer that is affordable and that will work on my bike. Do you have any advice for what I need to know for compatibility? One online shop told me the didn't have any that would work with my bike... I found that odd.
Alright fella Looking impressive. Are you going to clear coat it ? You would be better off with 2pack clear , its so much more durable than cellulose, especially if you over spill when refueling you can wipe it without worries. Any hoo... Love all the videos fella see you next week 👍
+Jritchie Jritchie thanks. I wish I could but I darent go near 2K paints as I don't have the right respiratory equipment or room. Highly cancerous if you haven't got the all in one suit. But saying that cellulose is very durable against petrol spills as it's automotive paint. Much better than the rattle cans at least.
@@forthebold Thanks ! Just finished my CX build, waiting to paint the rally stripes on the tank, black stripes on matte white tank with a 2k matte top clear coat. Might use the Red 2030 for some rims on a CB650 SC Nighthawk that's my next build. Fantastic content on your channel, love it, keep the builds coming ! Again, Thanks !
Hey man, are the stripes painted with single stage paint or did you add a clear coat later? The reason why am asking is because I want to paint stripes on a motorcycle over the factory paint and I don't want to go through the trouble of removing the original paint.
I really like your videos, they help me allot with my build, but I think gas tank should be painted by a professional, because it's so important in overall look. Also this stripes make tank look wider. On this bike you want to make it look thinner to fit proportions...
+Matic Čaks thanks. I'm keeping costs down as a professional will cost £300 and I also enjoy it. And good point with the stripes making it wider but that's one thing I wanted to bring out was the size of it
Second stripe was a good idea, however you should have marked that off first and given the second stripe the same amount of coats. Then uncovered the first stripe and given both a final coat, this way the colour will look the same once lacquered over. Good work.
The Second stripe made a huge difference. It looks amazing.
+bruce wanderson it does. Thanks
bruce wanderson agreed.
3:13 He wraps the tank better than I wrap Christmas presents
+The Inja probably better than I wrap Christmas presents myself. With more care anyway.
Looks so good with the second thin stripe! Can't wait to see how the GS turns out next.
+Chief ReusTATOR painting the GS this week. Not decided yet on the pattern
+Chief ReusTATOR painting the GS this week. Not decided yet on the pattern
Are you going for the kinda Ford Mustang Grabber blue? It's gonna look so good with the brown leather seat.
+Chief ReusTATOR I couldn't get the colour code for the ford so its a flat 509 blue
The thin stripe looks awesome! Can't wait for you to finish the Honda! Great job!
+Arne same here. The closer I get the more excited I am. Thanks
Everything and every bit helps people do things for themselves! Keep going man!
+Sevenity Guitars thanks
Love the new clean pin stripe! Great idea to add a nice piece of detailing to the machine. Keep up the great work!!
+LB Young thanks. It's made a difference
Should spray your petrol cap with your traingle logo :D Keep up the awesome videos.
+ryanjack86 thanks. I have a sticker ready for that
Another amazing video. You are definitely an inspiration for garage based builders! I'm without a garage at the moment, but I hope to remedy this within the next 6-8 months.
It'll soon come, It makes life a lot easier once you have a space of your own. All the best.
The tank looks dope after the extra stripe!!
Thanks, glad you think so.
It actually looked odly cool with the blue masking stripes on it.
It looks really awesome now, can't wait to see it all come together.
+PeanutsAreYum thanks. I felt there was something missing before but glad you like it.
Its incredible how much of a difference thag second stripe made! Keep up the awesome work
+Peter Cornelisse thanks. I'm happy with it
It looks a fair bit more interesting with that stripe. I thought a more creamy white would look better but, it turned out awesome. Keep make more content cause I am loving it. Much love from Australia.
+Tyler Peterson thanks. More videos coming friday
Waow! What a significant change that one stripe did! Well thought!
+Heiden thanks. It's completed it
enjoying the videos. very informative. just hunting down my first project bike, hopefully will be able to get started soon.
+brainmess1 amazing. What are you thinking of getting? Enjoy your build #daretobuild
wouldnt mind a CB250 or 350 Great base bike
+brainmess1 absolutely
The extra stripe is a great look! Good work on your videos man! I'm de-rusting the inside of my tank today!
Thanks. Good luck on your tank, what are you using?
For The Bold - dreegez I'm using a vinegar and salt mixture, I have tried this once before on a tank and it worked really well!
Cheers from 🇺🇸
Enjoy your videos! I think I'm going to steal your idea for the tool board behind you!!
+Road 'N Turf thanks. Go for it. I love the wall
Greetings from deep in South Africa, Awesome builds and great vids loving the bikes progression, I'm busy with a Gs 850 turning it into a rat/ bobber with side shocks ,thank you for all the inspiration and great tips.
Amazing, all the best with your project.
Thanks for showing us amatuers how to do. Great work.
Regards Mikael, Denmark
I'm no professional but I enjoy experimenting and getting things right as well as getting it wrong sometimes, all part of the fun.
Very cool the pin stripe finishes the look of your tank nicely thanks for another awsome vid cant wait to see the completed bikes especialy the suzuki
Thanks, yes the Suzuki shouldn't be too far away, a few things and the exhaust wrap.
Yes! The thin stripe finishes it.
Loving the new look of it. Good job mate
+Cryptographic Char thanks

+Anders Ilstedt check out Cognito Moto. I'm pretty sure they have a brat seat that has a removable cafe racer cowl. All the best with your build
that looks amazing well done great job
She's looking good man ! Really jealous of your work space that you've set up too.
Thanks, the works space is getting there, a bit more work needed.
Wow ! I prefer like that ! this stripe looks gorgeous ! Thanks for all your vids ! love your wall ! I think I'll borrow the idea! ;)
+Sébastien Kiefer thanks. I think it's made a difference. Go ahead and steal it
That looks heaps better! Good work! 5 or 6 coats of clear will bury up that seam nicely.
+AimlessMoto very true. I will be
the tank looks dope ! good work !
Thanks.
Great video. Love the content and I am really looking forward to the next video. Keep up the great work!
+Josh thanks. The next video will be the GS550 colour
Like that it's fun. Doing a bike and my next step is finding an engine! I'm using rattle cans for now hopefully I can get it powder coated one day and have the frame look great
+Sevenity Guitars amazing. All the best with your build. Either way works as long as your happy with it
awesome job! I'm on the process of painting my bike tank also.
+Fernando Agostinelli amazing. What colour?
Looks great bud with that single strip, don't think you need to do any more to that tank, the tank is spot on
+Darryl Bedford thanks. I'm going to leave it there now.
+Darryl Bedford thanks. I'm going to leave it there now.
the second stripe looks absolutely killer love it. Im wondering you must be getting some serious amount of overspray around the workshop though
Thanks. Cellulose is fine with overspray, a little dust in places but comes off with a duster. If it was 2k it would be a lot worse and I'd have to be in a booth.
I didn't like the red/white at first, but I think that extra stripe has brought me around - balances it out better.
+Daniel Sinnott thanks. Yeah it was missing something before
Looks great, nice work!
Thanks
I was thinking the same thing when you had the first red stripe that it would look nicer with a smaller one behind it even in the front maybe.
+David White not a bad thought.
+David White not a bad thought.
Nice job!! I would probably use something like ...a vintage white..
+TheMasterton I did think of something like that but ended up on the brilliant white
Brilliant call on the second stripe! Makes it really stand out and breaks it up. Have you ever thought about pin striping your logo and/or brand onto the tank? Also, where do you get your knowledge from about the bikes etc? It's pretty sound and thats where I worry about doing a project myself.

good paintjob, like that.
+daftart thank you
Love it man. Looks great
+JoshTheJabroni thank you
amazing works!
Thanks.
If u bring that red in an inch and put a thin blue line same colour as that tape that would really bring that tank to life
I must say, the tank look much better now.. you should also incorporate the channel logo too
+Melvin Nathan thanks. I might put it on the fuel cap
For The Bold - dreegez i cant wait to see the end result sir! Greetings from malaysia
+Melvin Nathan thanks Malaysia. Hopefully it'll look good
The second, small stripe really makes it pop! Good call, man. I have to ask: how much easier was it to spray red over white than it was to spray white over the red? +fredthebarber I tend to do the inner colour first. To be honest either colour covered really well and no colour showed through. But I did leave this to try enough first
Looks good, Scotch pad the area to be painted would be a good idea, and I would of got rid of badges, used a decal, Good job though.
You should put you logo in red on the battery hump a small one but one none the less
Hi, love the CX. Looks fantastic. What compressor are you using? I've got a decent spray gun but need a suitable (and cheap) compressor. Thanks
The tank is looking great! You've convinced me to paint the tank on my bike as well. If I have any questions about my build, what's the best method to ask? Cheers !
+DenisChenard thanks. Glad you like it. Just use UA-cam for any questions. I use it most
For The Bold - dreegez amazing. Thank you!!

so when your doing this should you remove the tape when the paint is wet ?
+hoggath hogg You'll find it'll crack more when dried properly. Although this paint was dry to touch as cellulose paint will dry after 10 mins
Hey! Can we know where you get music for your videos?
The stripe looks great btw!
+seasmy sam thanks. They're all free audio from UA-cam Creator
I'm working my way through all of your cx500 vids, you may cover this later but do you put a clear coat over the tank to give it a nice shine?
You can definitely do that. I’m yet to do it myself as cellulose paints give a nice automotive gloss finish also.
Alright fella Looking impressive.
Are you going to clear coat it ?
You would be better off with 2pack clear , its so much more durable than cellulose, especially if you over spill when refueling you can wipe it without worries.
Any hoo... Love all the videos fella see you next week 👍

But saying that cellulose is very durable against petrol spills as it's automotive paint. Much better than the rattle cans at least.
Looking great what type of paint are you using cellulose or water based?
+Andy Moore thanks. I'm using cellulose
So Im curious, do you clear coat your tanks after? For better protection and maybe a better sheen
+Jeremiah August i did the first time around. I might do with this also. It'll give it a deeper gloss that's for sure
for sure, I just thought that without the clear coat that if you get gas on the tank it may bubble the paint.
Hi,
What coolant would you recommend for a cx500 motorbike? Should it be a 50-50 mixture of coolant and distilled water? Cheers
+Bhuwan Gurung best advice I can give is refer to the manual. As for mixture check the bottle. Different coolants have different mixtures
Please could you tell us what type/brand of paint you use and if it's petrol resistant. Thanks!
I use cellulose paint and yup, it's fuel resistant.
For The Bold - dreegez Nice one. Cheers
What is the color you used for the stripe ? is it a REPSOL Orange ? Thanks, great stuff !
It’s red. 2030.
@@forthebold Thanks ! Just finished my CX build, waiting to paint the rally stripes on the tank, black stripes on matte white tank with a 2k matte top clear coat. I will be adding a clear coat soon, the tank as you may see from more recent videos was dropped a couple of times!
What paint gun are you using? Finding out hard to get a decent gravity fed gun from the shops here
+Scott Patterson I'm using a Burisch LVLP which is perfect for my small compressor
what spray gun do you use? love the vids!
+Illushun I use a Balrusch LVLP which works great with my small sized compressor
ty!
do ride any other motorbikes as a daily driver, or do you just ride you cafe racers.
+ACE Productions I'm on 4 wheels most of the time.

ONCE PAINTED LEAVE IT THERE FOR A WEEK
+Neil Jeffs yup. I'm often impatient

looks great, we always like u. BUT we vinyl wrap, EVERY THING. BOATS TRUCKS BIKES REFRIGERATOR ...not the dog......................yet

+Scott Noller congrats
