One of the most underrated players of his day. A fantastic left foot and a joy to watch. Was criticised for being lazy (so was John Robertson) but Cloughie would not have tolerated that! Really disappointed to hear how it ended for Ian at Forest but he will always be remembered with affection.
Ian Woan had a little spell with my team, Caernarfon Town, and didn’t particularly impress. But, when I saw him play for Runcorn subsequently, he was a true revelation. The best player I ever saw in Non League. So pleased to follow his successes.
@@carrington8999 You thought 🤔 No you read it in one of the tory owned gutter press prograganda machines were by the sound of you that is were you get your education from.
Ian, this is Mike from Syracuse. it was a honor that you represented my city for a couple years. I can't imagine that the dart board made it back to England with you, but, if you only got a few hours of pleasure from it, that makes it very worthwhile, :)
Met "Woany" a few times in public. What a nice guy !!! A very normal, geniune and down to earth guy. In fact : Mark Crossley, Steve Stone, Chettle and Woany, were all decent and normal guys.
Sounds like there was about as much effort made to celebrate Woan's contribution to the club as there were to celebrate our 150th anniversary. A friendly against Villa and the chance to buy an overpriced brick.
I always wondered why he didn't have an international career, I know it was hard to get in the England team at the time, but thought he might have Scottish, Welsh or Irish family and pick one of those teams to play for instead.
Forest were robbed in 1992 clough never recovered again the sweet FA had it in for clough Gazza needed to be sent off twice shocking why not end him off they brought on Paul Walsh for Gazza and it changed the game CHEATED I think clough would still be alive today it literally killed him that loss
David Platt doesn't have many fans in football ,he seems to have upset a lot of players with his awful managerial career ,he seems to be a right tosser .

When i think of Ian Woan it always puts a smile on my face. Scored some fantastic goals.

Wirral lad. No wonder he’s so honest and down to earth. Likeable bloke.
I thought they were all thief’s up there.

Last game of the 99 relegation season. Woan comes on after 10 minutes having only playing twice all season. I voted for him in Player of The Season
Good player Ian Woan.
Woany, you were legendary! Priveliged to see you score some amazing goals.
No testimonial? It hurts me to hear that. He gave great service to our club. We all fell out with Platt.
we Will remember what a force he was, Ian Woan . he was Gariballdi
. x
I was at school with Ian for a short time. Humble guy. Think he was dogged with injuries? Brilliantly talented guy.
Excallent series. A refreshing honesty in sharp contrast to most club channels.
what a player,what a left peg,scoring from corners,brilliant player
Top bloke Ian.

Great team!
Top bloke ian Woan
Hats off to the Wirral squirrel
A Heswall legend, some good players have come from Heswall
Harry Rednapp bought me here...just like he bought Ian Woan to Forrest lool
Love the guy .
Class player. Should have played for England. Magical left foot.
Great player. Some of his freekicks were ridiculous. If he was at Barcelona or Real Madrid...
Great player. That goal against Arsenal
Should of had a testimonial.
yes he sould
Woany was a legend
Good player Woan, Platt was a knob who should have never been allowed to manage our club. Clueless!
Was only little but loved that left peg
Brilliant video coyrs

Cloughie was fantastic!
I'm sure I remember seeing him score twice direct from a corner in one match
I always wondered why he didn't have an international career, I know it was hard to get in the England team at the time, but thought he might have Scottish, Welsh or Irish family and pick one of those teams to play for instead.
Great player . We could do with him now
Ian Woan and Jerry Seinfeld. One and the same man....
What is the tune playing at 4:00 please?
1991 Forest _ Liverpool 2_1 Woans goal 👏 I saw 👀 it I was there. First match I 👀 at city ground.
There's something in my eye....
Fantastic cross for ex forest player Nigel Jemson to dump Everton out of the cup a few years ago for the mighty Shrewsbury town..
This guy had a wand of a left foot
Great player always gave 110%. What a horrible way to finish your Forest career!!!!

13:02 bohinen!!
Nick Heywood!
Spitting image
What a sweet left foot Ian had
I’m sure he was mates with Teddy Sheringham and he trued to get him to sign for Tottenham great player and Forrest are a great club
I have said it many, many times. David Platt was the worst thing to happen to our great club. Just bloody awful.
please change this music; sounds like a bloody sob story. We are Nottingham Forest and a proud club, not some sympathy shambles like Liverpool
Agree!
All of these videos play like an obituary to a dead club. To be fair that's not far off how things feel at the moment.
don't talk crap
shambles LFC watt drugs you on
🔔 end.
got little cocky towards the end tho I think when spurs Everton and Leeds was watching him
David Platt doesn't have many fans in football ,he seems to have upset a lot of players with his awful managerial career ,he seems to be a right tosser .
Ian Walker's goalkeeping ability was as bad as his barnet.
