@@WatchJRGo thanks for posting! I recently bought one to tow behind my RV but I’ve now fallen in love and want an Abatth.!!! They’re fun stuff, especially for a 6’6” guy. Roomy as can be. Keep it up JR, you’re doing stellar work!
Wow, this was very interesting and impressive. I think these Turo fleet videos are a very good addition to your channel's content. When I was looking at the TPMS tool, I thought that is something that you buy when you have the volume to use it, like in your case. Now, I am wondering if you are getting close to the point where you would want to buy the equipment to mount and balance your own tires. Obviously, that would make the cost per vehicle to put new tires on lower, but also save you time - no need to bring it to a tire shop and be limited by their schedule.
Nice. I have 2 Fiat 500s in my Turo fleet. One has 66 trips!! The new one I just bought is a sweet Granite Crystal Grey color with black wheels. It's doing great!
1. JR, surely you know the trackday trick--put painters tape on the car and then stick the temporary license plate adhesive to that. 2. When putting a car on Turo, what business and insurance precautions do you take to protect yourself?
i been planning starting a turo fleet for a couple month and 2 of the cars i was looking to buy was a Dart and a Fiat 500 hahahha, im a former mopar tech and i know these very well that help alot when you know the vehicles inside and out and you do all the maintance and repair
Man, you're really committed to the rental thing! I hope it works out for you. Last time I rented a car, the engine caught on fire as I was pulling in the the business. And the guy working could care less! Pretty funny.
I absolutely love my 500 Abarth, and my wife drives a 2016 500 Lounge in the 1957 edition spec. You are correct that the oil is critical, and also (IMO) correct in using only Motul in the Multi Air engine! Great to see some FIAT love from WatchJRGo!

JR, you have the Fiat 500 listed as a manual transmission on Turo. You might want to change that to bring more people in. I hope you can see this! Good work!
I've heard a lot of negative with Turo, but I don't have the time to really deliver them. My local airport will not allow them to be stored so it requires delivery. As far as user perspective, I rented 1 turo so far which was in Charlotte. They had a great system of delivery and recovery with no interaction other than messaging through the app. had to take it to a car wash and vacuum it out when returning before my flight which probably made it easy on them. in an attempt to use one again, I found the delivery fees too high so I just rented one from the airport this time. Good Luck!
Don't bother matching tires on the Turo fleet John. Car rental contracts only obliges the hirer to replace a damaged (during their use) tire with a subjective "like-for-like" and doesn't have to be the same brand. Tire damage is the most common issue too, so you'll be needlessly out of pocket trying to match them when they get returned with a different one on.
Yes, I meant he shouldn't be. I'm that fussy too, but the liklihood is they'll come back with odd tires as it's common damage for hire cars and the hirer doesn't have to match them.
I actually bought a 500 pop as a flip, and all I did was fix the passenger door handle, new shocks, and replaced the steel wheels with a set of Abarth Wheels I picked up on Craigslist. We made 2500 on the car
Years ago I moved back to Florida and ordered a custom plate for my Trans Am so they issued me a temp.tag that screwed into the bumper where the normal tag goes. I took a trip.acoss the everglades (Alligator Alley) to Fort Lauderdale and when I parked at my destination, I noticed the plate was gone. The screws were still there so the plate apparently tore at the screw holes and blew right off the car. I had to put a cardboard "lost plate" sign on there for the trip home LOL.

I test drove a 500 in 2012 and it was a tin can. Possibly the worst new car I ever did a test drive with. I have a fiatmaster 2500 van though and I love it.

You ought to buy a Beetle and Mini for Turo as well, you could have a retro rental fleet, might be popular. Also if the 500 is being used anywhere salty, the rear beams are prone to rusting so might be worth giving it a paint over.
