I was shocked when I looked on the wiki and found that 1.5 had released all the way back in December of 2020. The game’s been on this one version for nearly half of its entire lifespan, while 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, and 1.4 were all put out with about a year of time between each other, roughly speaking.
ConcernedApe ist just my favorite game developer! He adds free content to his game that already is a masterpiece and he doesn't steal the money out of the pockets of the player like some other developers do. He also listens to the fanbase and what they'd like in the game, ConcernedApe isn't lazy and you can feel that he just loves what he's doing. And I think that is something he can be pretty proud of
re-logic has same politics,terarria was made in 2011 and we still have free big updates. Thats why I love Terraria and Stardew so much,they were made wiyh big love of their developers who didnt became greedy
I'm excited to see 1.6 realized, I hope Concerned ape is able to fix some of the bugs with multiplayer, and everything else about the update looks super cool
In those pics Concerned ape released on October 5th, two of the hats are new! On the same notes, if you look in his inventory on the post he made October 20th you can see a new sprite next to the wild horseradish juice that got cutoff. I love all the little hints he's giving us lol
Can't wait for 1.6 I'm excited to see what the new event is and what all the new additions of the game are going to be, Like the new farm type mentioned in the sneak peek

I, for one, am torn between CA going full Redigit/Terraria with the "just one more update" mentality versus him saying "okay, enough is enough" and throwing himself back into Haunted Chocolatier mode.
that's fair! but at the same time i get it. this game is literally his life's work, so i'm sure it's hard to move on entirely - especially when it still has such an active community & playerbase
concernedApe has always been happy about mods and been supportive of the modding community, will this new content be compatible with stardewvalley expanded? fingers crossed
I wouldn’t be surprised if he tried to release PC and console together, albeit delaying PC. I use pc for modded playthroughs and my switch for regular!
Seems 1.6 might be here sooner then we could have hoped for (or not). But it is likely just a little be left before it drops... though what I saw when it drops, it willjust drop no warning, just poof here it is.

You know what is interesting? 2 of the most popular games ever created are in Pixel style (Minecraft and stardew) and receive free updates. I think some other game devs could use their example. And yea not to mention that these games are not overpriced. Some games that are 40+ euros offer way less then Stardew and minecraft.
CA just announced today that the update will be released on PC on March 19th 2024!

1.5 was an incredible update, which added so much depth to the game. The earlier updates were small compared to 1.5

i would say the same hes great but i would really love if he manages to put multiplayer crossplay since his adding a 8 player expantion
