Thank you so very much for all you do to make us a more informed patients! I learned through you that there is so much more to learn with each passing day. I can’t even imagine how extensive the software is , that makes all this possible! I can assure you that my life would have been so difficult perhaps almost impossible without my hearing aids. And I share my experience with others without hearing loss to “kiss “ their ears. 😂 I understand the hearing aids are helping in mimicking what our great ears are capable of. So I am pretty much happy with my hearing aids… Oticon More 1. But , your comprehensive insight into the world of hearing aids will prepare/ update me for what is even more possible! I am great full to all of you for today’s video which is going to be very helpful for my next update due in March! If I ever come to Arizona, I will definitely come and thank you in person. I live in California! Again wishing all of you a 2024 filled with PEACE, LOVE, HAPPINESS and SUCCESS!☮️🙌🏾
Hi Dr. Cliff! I am brand new to hearing aids- having just purchased an OTC Jabra Enhance Select 200- which i have ups and downs with! My question is: Does the mini-microphone work "with" hearing aids, or "instead of" hearing aids? Where do you shop for a cheaper price and is there certain microphones that might be better than others?
I have hearing aids that i got from the VA and have an appointment on the 18th i have found that the behind the ear ones hurt my ears i have had 2 sets and should i try to get the in the ear ones? I have Oticon and love them but like i said they hurt my ears. I love the brand.
In the ear hearing aids aren’t suitable for every hearing loss. If it hurts behind the ear, adjusting the length of the tubing may help. If it hurts inside the ear, trying earmoulds, or different earmoulds may help.
Lately, I can't find the transcripts under your videos and I miss them. With an audience of the hearing challenged, why drop the written version of your messages to us? Hope you will restore them or let us know where to find them if they have just been moved. PS - Anyone who has tried both will likely assure you that simultaneous onscreen closed captions are not an adequate substitute for a coherent transcript. They both serve different needs.
I have Audeo P50 I really have mild to moderate hearing loss. For the most part I hear fine without them. But in high noise environments like restaurants I have to increase the volume to point that hearing aid provides feedback. I am using a custom titanium ear mold. Is a silicone ear mold better?
And check with your own Hearing Aides Professional Audiologist AuD doctors hearing Aides Dealership Center where you bought your hearing Aides can actually adjust the settings to reduce the feedback and Dr. Cliff AuD Professional Audiologist hearing Aides reviewer hearing helper can provide you information than I can I wear Phonaks Audeo Life Waterproof sweatproof rechargeable battery P-70 Advantage since I have 75% hearing loss born too early premature baby been wearing hearing Aides since 4 years old in 1970 and I am 59 years old. Nevermind about my age . Happy Christmas and happy New Year 2024 .
Oh I forgot to tell you I also have custom ears molds small vented ears molds with wires Hook up to my hearing Aides and they are clear see-thru hard plastic and has wax protector white plastic screen nets I have to replace if it gets clogged up but not as much wax in my ears and I only use hearing Aides ears molds fishing line to clean out vents holes next to speakers holes as well as using a mini brush clean outside the ears molds and hearing Aides microphone on top . I don't use water or soap just a soft cloth without water .
when you were discussing mid 90's aids with trim pots what is the correct office terminology for the one trim pot that could dampen a noise if it thought it was too loud,or not dampen at all,, say for example somebody banging a spoon on a table you could turn the trim pot all the way to the left and it would nullify the sound dampening and allow the full blasting sound of that banging spoon to come through the aid,,it was my favorite trim pot because i hate sound dampening and im curious what is this particular trim pot called if i wanted this on a hearing aid?,,i see a company called Audina sells digital aids that can have circuits set to linear style and you can order up to 3 trim pots on these aids,,its almost like old school analog aids ,,can you tell me what this trim pot is called? (is it called a AGC-o output control? or maybe active high cut or active low cut? )..
i would have a custom molded ear piece made for your aid,,i have some BTE aids myself and i custom order soft silicone skeleton style ear molds with a large air vent built in,,i cant stand that plugged up feeling either...these are just way better then those domes in my opinion
I'm aware of all of these features. The question is what brand does each the best? Especially directional adjustment. For example, my Widex Moments seem fair, but I'm looking for better so I can hear my wife talking more than the people around me when we go out to eat.
Features: Phonak two active Bluetooth connections simultaneously. Phonak Classic Bluetooth sound quality. Starkey Genesis 50+ hour battery life. Phonak Activent. Phonak motion sensor and autosense. Best post-fit word recognition or voice recognition in noise: Audiologist simply do NOT perform post-fit testing! They usually ask “how do those sound” and leave it at that! They think real ear measurement is the final step but finding out if you actually hear better with your new expensive devices is simply not performed?
Sorry, these longer videos are extremely expensive to have captioned by a professional. They get AI captions. Feel free to send a Super Thanks for $150 and I'll get the video taken care of for you. 😉
Better to have a wide dynamic range like Widex..and with Pure Sound..This technology reduces the processing delay between microphone and receiver to below 0.5 milliseconds blows every other one away..
I'm gonna ask my questions here, I don't have them yet but will be purchasing soon What are the disadvantages of buying only 1 Premium hearing aid? (Versus two of the entry level) And why are all hearing aid brands the same price at the same technology level? It makes me think they are all made by the same manufacturer, but that cant be true 🤔. So then I think it's kind of "price setting" or gives the seller more chance to make money by selling a particular brand, maybe not what a person needs?
Based on research, you would be better off with 2 entry level hearing aids than just one premium level hearing aid. Essentially, there are a lot of Binaural effects such as Binaural Summation, Binaural Squelch, and localization that provide a significant advantage for binaural hearing aid users. Many premium features are also based on two hearing aids working wirelessly together, so if you only have one hearing aid, you are giving up some of the benefits as well. Not all hearing aid brands are the same price at the same technology level. Most clinics will calculate their pricing on their highest Cost of Goods brand, to make sure at a minimum that they are able to turn a profit, and make that price the same for all brands they dispense for administrative purposes & ease of communication of price to patients. Some clinics will have different brands listed at different prices, primarily based on different Cost of Goods for the clinic. You are correct, that some clinics will primarily recommend brands that they make the most money on, which is why it is imperitave that you do your own research on the devices that may be best for you, or at a minimum, ensure that your provider tells you EXACTLY why they are recommending a certain hearing aid brand. A provider telling you "Because it's the Best hearing aid on the market" is NOT a good reason.
They have a maximum output level which should be programmed to limit the maximum volume the hearing aids amplify such that they won’t damage your hearing
Well, we do talk about improvements but each individual video has it's own topic and purpose. This video we are specifically talking about the features.

Your Presentation is very informative & helps in identifying hearing patient's do's & don't with regard to selection of technology.
Happy New Hear🎊 doctor.
Great informative chat!

Good morning , Iam using presently Signia 2AX now , iam facing trouble while watching tv show , how can get best settings to over come it ?
I have Signia hearing aids and I use the TV Streamer.

I have Resound…..three year lease ending soon and my audiologist says their latest new model is well worth $$$. What do you think???
Very informative presentation, but it would help to get someone in the industry to proof your captions. "Quick SIN" was mis-spelled twice for example.

What about the phonak power receiver that mechanically opens and closes for low frequencies
Its active vent receivers
how about deep neural technologie in hearing aid, such as starkey genesis. and the phonak lumity 700 scan times per seconds....?
Better to have a wide dynamic range like Widex..and with Pure Sound..This technology reduces the processing delay between microphone and receiver to below 0.5 milliseconds blows every other one away..

@@DrCliffAuD Awesome, thank you for that thorough answer 👍
I'll be following up accordingly 😁
Can you injure your hearing by wearing hearing aids in loud rooms?
They have a maximum output level which should be programmed to limit the maximum volume the hearing aids amplify such that they won’t damage your hearing
Seems like you're diving off into just features instead of hearing improvements. Enjoyed your videos. But guess I'm going to tune out till then

I love deaf metal…….wearing chains now……
