It takes a special kind of person to recognize the beauty of a rainy day. I always love them---particularly the steady, soaking kinds like this one---and find them to be the days when I'm at my happiest and most relaxed.

I’m British and I love that weather. Nothing more cosy on a weekend than sitting in a cafe having a coffee and cake watching the rain or lying in the lounge being lazy.
I live in the peak district and I just put a good pair of boots on and gou walking, it' wonderful, I lived in Spain for 3 year and I actually missed the drizzle.

Totally agree, that's just awful. I rather wear a jumper, long trousers and use an umbrella than sitting in the heat, in summer gear sweating like a pig.

I grew up in London and studied and worked in the London areas shown in your video. I used to LOVE this type of rain. Gentle, persistant and set for at least 24 hours, it washed away the dust and dirt. In the evening, the lights reflecting from the pavements and shops provided the evocative glow that only a city can show. Very nice.

Not when I have to go out in a rainy windy day, having my umbrella inside out.

Oh yes, sitting by the window, looking in the garden, drinking a cuppa, crocheting/knitting ... just wonderful! I generally love rain, grey and cloudy skies.
As a tourist I don't mind if it rains for a couple of hours or a day, but not longer cause wet shoes, wet trousers and jackets must dry and hotel rooms are not the best places to dry wet clothes.
I like watching the snow out of the patio windows with a hot cup of tea ☕ don't like it the next day when it's all turned to Ice " I am at that age now where I hibernate when it is bad weather except for the warm rain in the summer
My first trip to London, In October of ‘85, it rained so much that the animals began pairing off…..instead of Foggy London it was Soggy London. And at the age of 33, with my umbrella in tow, I had the Experience of a Lifetime!!! Hau’oli Makahiki Hou to the U.K. from Ewa Beach, O’ahu, Hawaii. 🤙🇺🇸🤟

October and November are our wettest months then it dries up in the winter before it becomes very dry in the summer. O'ahu is definitely a nice place!
I love this type of weather, as long as I've remembered to bring my umbrella with me! If I've forgotten it, then this level of rain makes me miserable ... only because I can't see a darned thing with the rain constantly getting in my eyes! But as long as my eyes and face are protected from the rain, I absolutely love going out for a walk in this weather. Especially if it isn't a particularly cold day as well. There's just something about the smells, the fact the rain helps dull the sounds of the city/town a bit (part of the reason why I love fog so much, the way it acts as a sound dampener - you don't realise just how LOUD places are until the sound gets muted with fog), the sounds of the rain hitting different types of building materials and any trees around. The fact rain literally brings life with it too - can't be mad at rain for that!
Days like that always put me in a good mood, especially if I've just got home and I can relax with a warm drink and listen to the pitter patter outside as I fall asleep

A big part of the rain's attraction is that it eliminates the crush of people on the streets.
I was lucky enough to live in London for a few years and gray weather is the kind I love. Not the rain so much as a chill and no sun and…somehow London's loveliest then.

Love that weather and ai grew up in the UK. A lot of people tend to take the rain for granted and don't look at the beauty of the rain. When you go from a place that rains a lot to a place that rarely rains, you miss the rain and everything that comes with it.

So I found out many people actually love the rain, calms them down, I have never had the experience but I did one time drink a beer in the rain on a hot day by a fire pit waiting for the rain to stop, the air to cool, the sun to go down so I could light that fire. It was a really good beer.

I was talking to a lovely Slovakian man last night and he literally mentioned the rain. He's never seen so much in his life but he loved it because the streets are quieter, he was doing some late night photography, really nice guy

It feels good to have this kind of weather. The mood becomes melancholy and compels one to introspect. The sound of raindrop is so therapeutic. But constantly throughout the year? I have lived there, and the charm disappears after 3 months tops.
Ever since i visited England when i was 14, I've longed to go back. My relatives live in Hull. I was too young and traumatized (not by the country, mind you) to really appreciate everything i experienced. I can't afford to go back, but I'd love to be able to. Everything about England, Scotland and Ireland have me entranced. Maybe it's my own heritage talking, but they're places that call to me. 💙
Also, yes, this is my favorite type of weather.
So interesting to see Soho Square, my g/g grandfather was born and lived there until 1853 when he emigrated to Australia. Seeing the beautiful Christmas decorations has prompted me to think about visiting UK in December rather than summer. Thank you, great walk!

I have been traveling to London many times as a tourist in the last 25 years and I still find it a great city to visit. Anyway, if you compare the amount of rain that London gets in a year, to many other cities in Europe, then it is not that rainy. Perhaps it is the often change in weather that makes many think of London as rainy.
Yes London actually gets less rain than Barcelona, nice and Rome and in recent years we are having Mediterranean dry summers and wet winter years. We still get rain in the summer but significantly less than the winter and in the winter it's more than the summer but not as much as say Rome. London also has a few drizzle days so whilst it's not raining that much it can feel like it's raining all day some winter days. In the summer we just get a few thunderstorms usually around the end of August

Miss New York on a rainy or light snowy day- walking any busy borough, especially Manhattan: wide sidewalks, plazas, verandas, large open lobbies, street corners from where you can see higher more than wide or long- finally an early afternoon stroll in Central Park with a hot pretzel! Heavenly!

There's nothing better than a breezy, summer sunset with a slight chill in the air, but there's something very special about rainy days too. I live in the US along the East Coast. Close to the ocean and along the middle where we get the 4 seasons. For that reason, I'm not sure I'd appreciate the cold, but I'd probably like the rain more than most. The sound alone is worth it.

I believe it's situational. The perception of rain, that is. London can afford itself rainy weather, for many reasons. Some cities just look and feel post apocalyptic under the rain. London does not. Great video, by the way! Cheers from the post apocalyptic world :)

Ahh, love this video. London is certainly one of the most beautiful cities. As a resident of Calcutta who loves rain, this is a treat to the eyes. Especially because certain parts of my city looks exactly like the older buildings in London.
Been to England passing through many time from other countries. Usually mildenhall and lindenhall. Coming from the UAE then to the states again it's a breath of fresh air especially from the desert. Enjoyed the food and drink from the local pubs. One day London is on our list.
