I am so tired of everytime i buy a snake people start trying to shame me ai even had a "friend" of over five years send me an email saying they couldn't speak to me anymore for "having dangerous snakes around my son' (hatchling ball pythons)

I spent all of my money on $200 muorning geckos and incloser I have no money now
@@SOCCER-cr3gz I had 28 Betta fish at one time with no money for fish food so I had to feed year-old pellets. Since then I've decided rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming is still my passion but that I need to buckle down and decide the best decision for everyone. I still rescue but on a much smaller scale.
What I'm saying is go with your passion but remember to take care of yourself. Get a well paying job to pay for your hobby and continue on. *Don't spend all you have on a passion - you won't have anything left.*
Yet the same people drop $1500 on a dog. No difference, hey!
23k?!!! wow!! Entire story is amazing! The first Crested gecko I bought was in 2003 from Petsmart for 20 bucks (CAD). Unfortunately, I didnt keep him long... the gf at the time was like, "its either the lizard or me!" I should of chose the lizard. ha.

I am SO glad I watched all of this video. I'm days away from my first fertile crestie egg hatching. (It's for my enjoyment, not to make any $) Interesting thing about how this fertile egg came to be, that female had not been around a male in over TWO YEARS. She had laid plenty of infertile eggs. But I was cleaning her tank, found the eggs, candles them like always, first was infertile, but the second had that wonderful red cherrio in it! I checked and rechecked and made my partner confirm what I was seeing. That was mid June, any day now...

I tell folks about the 14 year old girl and her father back in 2009 at the longest running reptile show in St. Louis...the girl was very knowledgeable, just smart as a whip and personality plus. Out of 60-75 vendors she was the only one selling Cresties and her animals were...meh....Crested Geckos just wasn't a thing back then like you talked about in your video. There was however about 6 or 8 bearded dragon vendors including us at the time.(all gone now) 10 years later and a show last year with 200 tables had 30-40 of them covered in Crested and Gargoyle geckos...and you know what...most of them were...meh...quantity does not necessarily equal quality when so many people chase the wave and think they're gonna get rich....the market is flooded imho due to reckless breeding. It was good to hear how you put it all on the line to chase the axanthic line.....I've taken such a plunge in other areas of business and some worked out while others fizzled. Ya can't hit a homerun if you don't go up to bat.....Razor, our red/creme pinstripe says hey....he was once one of yours....he's hands down my favorite...although the Lillies I got will turn your head...Razor is Mr.Handsome...Happy New Year!

Hi Brian, wow what an amazing path to success. You do have amazing and stunning geckos. I am curious how many turn out as you hope and how many turn out "ordinary" for want of a better word?. How many clutches do you hatch before you produce the gem or are they all stunning to varying degrees?

I think it is a great story,, truly rags to riches. The sad thing for people like me (pet owner types) is that a lot of the beautiful morphs/breeds are way out of our price range But I guess the same can be said for any "pure bred" pet Just wishing lol

I'm planning on getting into a bit of hobby breeding with my geckos soon. They're nothing super special or expensive; Calcifer my male is a yellow flame, the two girls I have are really dark olive harleys, my friend's baby gecko who I'm currently housing is a chocolate tiger, and today I'm getting a new baby who's a red-brown harley at the moment :D but regardless of how rare or whatever they are, I love cresties and I'm super excited to see where this takes me!

I mean, I'll never be able to afford a high end gecko like an axanthic or lily white, but I've defended your prices before and I understand them. I'll try to continue getting lucky with local people selling their geckos (usually super cheap). I lucked out with my super dalmatian with ink spots (beautiful mother) for just 80. I do want to buy a gecko from you for sure one of these days but I'll have to save for a while. I just want to support your endeavor, I love what you stand for, love your geckos, your story is awesome. I'm about to get 1-2 from a guy a few towns over. He wanted to hobby breed just once, as a project to involve his kids in and ended up with a TON of babies he is now scrambling to find homes for. I already have 2 so I told him I could take 1 or 2. I just built 3 bioactive enclosures, from scratch, glass (did the cutting, never again!), so all I have to do is finish them off. He has some partial pinners that are really dark that I'm eyeballing and one red buckskin that looks really nice too, which is the one I had him hold for sure. He has one with a hurt foot because the momma buried the egg and he didn't see it so baby hatched and got chomped by dad and I'm always partial to the underdog I believe nobody will take so I may end up bringing the hurt foot baby home too. We'll see. 🙂. Going there on Tuesday

I live in Korea currently and Koreans have a lot of money to spend. Also, because Korea is a small country it's hard for people here to spend their on real-estate so they spend their money on luxury, cars and expensive hobbies; thus the geckos and other such exotic animals.

Just got my first baby cresty flame and he has got a really cool personality, he jumps right in my habd from the cage at night he know when its time to come chill and when tp eat and he was red 2 weeks ago and now he shed and is now yellow green color, freakin cool. I want to breed him with a female. Not now but when he is ready i want a female with good personality that like to come out and jumps alot

It really depends on the species. Even at the best however, it takes a ton of dedication, hard work, sacrifice and inevitable some luck to be successful.

I use repashy calcium plus.
Mine love the tropical fruit. They actually like it more than the pangea from what I can tell. I also have a big can of the watermelon flavor but I haven't opened it yet. They both have good reviews though. Just know though, once you get to larger sizes, they really aren't much cheaper than repashy or pangea. You can find 6oz cans of repashy purple for 12.99

Ah, someday, I'll be able to get a lilly white. Working full time, can't afford rent for a better place - but I got my first gecko, for free. No special morph, but she's special to me. I can't wait to have the ability to get another one. Ugh!
