So glad I came across your video - I found the hold down clamp quickly on Amazon quicker than Home Depot and got the job done by the end of the day! Thx
That is a good solution. You could add padding for the shoulders to make it even more comfortable. Especially for heavier canoes. Greetings from Germany. Rob
Hey Rob; You're right about the padding. I added shoulder pads on another video but you could also just wrap some foam around each side. Padding is certainly worth it! Cheers,
Hi Pete.Nice Video.I See it Works well for you too.I have been using the yoke for four months now and it still works! Thank you for the idea. Cheers, Thom
Hey, thanks for the video. I made one using the same hold down clamps you used. It works great for my Northstar Northwind solo and it's significantly less expensive than the ones you can purchase.
A conoeroots hat - I had one! Man, I miss that mag. I was lucky enough to get a few pics of me and my black lab in there once. I still have a bunch of issues stashed in a drawer. The removable yoke is awesome too - very gift you got there. Modded to make it your own too! 👊
You noticed that eh! Way to go - good eye! I also miss canoeroots. Its replacement has far too many articles on whitewater kayaking while I love flatwater caneoing!!
Here's a great one of the same style I used. This one's Amazon's choice which means it's likely the best and least expensive (best value) or somewhere close to that! Cheers and thanks for watching - amzn.to/43KKr45
Nice! Just yesterday I was looking at an old carry yoke taken out of a tandem redo job in the past wondering and where I could get some knobbed hardware for the clamps. I'll get these on order tonight and have a carry yoke for my solo boat by the weekend! Thanks!
Another viewer of this channel from the Netherlands got these exact same clamps and did an even better job than I did - and they work perfectly for him as well. He was excited enough to send me photos and express how little he paid! Good luck!
That worked perfectly, thank you for posting this. I wish I knew about those clamps many years ago haha
You are welcome!
Nice ! Thanks a lot.

Thanks for the info! And you pretty much have the exact same canoe as I do (Bell Magic solo).
Great job on your DIY removable solo yoke, super helpful information!
Glad you enjoyed it! It all worked well!

Hey can you provide a link or description of the type of bench clamp that is? I haven't found anything like it yet. Thanks!
