  • Each month The Brain & Behavior Research Foundation hosts a Meet the Scientist Webinar featuring a researcher discussing the latest findings related to mental illness. In June, 2018, the Foundation featured Dr. John H. Krystal of the Yale University School of Medicine.
Description: Can the fast-acting antidepressant ketamine help people with PTSD? Scientists theorize that traumatic stress impairs the integrity of connections between nerve cells in the brain, leading to a variety of often debilitating problems, including those experienced by people with PTSD. Dr. Krystal explores the possibility of restoring damaged neural connections to provide relief for patients.

Excellent information! I'm looking to start Ketamine Infusions myself for treatment resistant depression.
I'm grateful for this information and hopeful to have a life again.

Great information and presentation. I recently had my first infusion, while I’m not a Dr or scientist I must say I think the dissociative effects during the treatment do play a part in the recovery. If the Drs tried this themselves I believe they would agree. Looking at yourself from an out of body perspective is quite profound. Unfortunately insurance does not currently cover treatment, it cost me $375. Esketamine spray I looked into, but was $800... I would recommend the IV infusion vs. nasal spray anyways just for the greater bioavailability. I am feeling better, certainly no regrets. Bring headphones or music, I regret not doing so. The infusion itself is a little intense, weird at minimum. Driving afterwards is a definite no, don’t be silly.

Thank you for sharing your experience. Was it the IV infusion which cost you $375? Where did you receive the treatment? (I have been under the assumption that infusion cost is way more costly than 375$) Hope you are doing well. I'm hoping to find a source of ketamine for microdosing.

To all or any Brainiacs out there-These are chronic situations so won't one need an increasing dose as time goes by? A dose that ultimately will end up to be addicting?

Ketamine is sometimes used recreationally and can be abused, but as a family physician I’ve not seen anyone dependent on ketamine.

When are we going to have a meet the scientists for the people that you dosed without their consent as you had it waived? When is that meet and greet? I really have zero desire to meet protégés of Mengele, so I do not care to meet you, but it would be nice if you stopped waiving informed consent. Please and thank you.
