My turbo actuator took a dumb recently I ended up having to replace the whole turbo. Not fun nor cheap. Ironically right after being replaced my coolant reservoir is done for. lol thanks for the video and the help 👍🏽
@@bwilson1104 awesome! Did you get the City Diesel one? If you have any questions let me know. I get notifications whenever I get a new comment. Hopefully my video is helpful for you. 👍
@@AZBUILDS It was super useful! I plan on getting the city diesel, need to tear it down to make sure I dont need a turbo first. Coolant arrives on Thursday.
Sounds good. Mine is running great now. I’m glad I didn’t replace the whole turbo like the shops trying to convince me to do. Listened to my trucker buddies and they were right about it being the actuator.
Got my city diesel actuator in this week and will be changing it myself hoping that my turbo is still good. I’ve got 150,000 miles so I’m also going to replace my water pump, tension pulley, thermostat and belt since it’s all original 2016.
@@colinbyers9237 I ordered it on September 7th and received it on September 17th. I was surprised that it arrived so quickly because when I ordered it they sent me an email saying it was on back order and that it would take 7-10 days to ship. I would highly recommend ordering it from Geno’s. I did an unboxing video of it too.

You’re welcome. I got lucky with mine that the turbo was still good. Thankfully it’s still going strong. 👍
Thank you, getting ready to tear mine apart this weekend.

That sounds like a good idea. Let me know how it goes and if you have any questions. 👍
@ without people like you that’s willing to give their time and make videos for people like me I could not do this. I truly thank you.
You’re totally welcome. That’s my goal to make content that’s helpful and hopefully entertaining along the way. Thanks for the kind words. 👍
Just pull the plastic inner fender out and the Turbo actuator is right there. It's a super easy job.
Yep. Not too terrible. 👍
I much prefer watching you do the work. 😂
👍 thankfully it was pretty easy
How many miles did u have when ur actuator took the dump?
120k miles
Has anyone figured a fix for the surging at idle after installing the city diesel actuator?
I’m not sure. I don’t have any problems with mine doing that. My truck runs flawlessly now.
How long did it take to get?
