    I'm soooo glad I found you!! My home came with that exact sink and I've been wanting to restore it from the rust spots!! ❤

      Glad I could help! A couple things I have observed since using the sink for a few months - this finish is an epoxy, not enamel, so extreme heat can damage it. Take care to not place hot pots directly on the sink. Also, I would suggest a protective mat in the bottom of the sink to protect from scratches from sharp utensils. I clean mine with either bon ami or barkeepers friend. Overall I am still so happy with the result and would use the product again. Have a blessed day❤

    We restored our sink over a year ago. Our sink is similar but with a single basin. I love it because all the water stays off the counters. In my opinion they should still make this style of sink, it’s perfect and functional. Ours was really bad and we were thinking what did we get our self’s into. We painted underneath a pretty green. Don’t be afraid to do it because it was real simple. Just be patient and organized, it should be fine. It’s been over a year and my sink still looks great.

      I love this testimony! Yes, I agree, these are the most functional sinks of all time. I painted the underside of mine farmhouse black. It turned out beautiful! Thank you for watching and for the kind words of encouragement. Have a blessed day 🤗

    Great video! Any updates on how it’s handling the biffing and banging of pots and pans? We have one that came with our gut-job remodel home. It’s in pretty good condition, but with yellow basins. I’d love to figure out the best plan. But I cooked with cast iron, and it’s really rough on the sink so I’ve been hesitant.

    • @LittleCountryCabin
      @LittleCountryCabin  9 місяців тому

      We just installed it and started using it. It’s holding up very well! I’m careful with my cast iron for obvious reasons and also I don’t set hot pans directly on the sink. The new finish is very tough but it is epoxy so extreme heat could damage it. Thank you for the great feedback and have a wonderful day❤️

  • @jmkelly7710

    We have the same sink, same hat and apparently same name! 😅 I did the ekopel 2 on the cast iron tub and I'm not really happy with it 1-2 years later. Maybe I will learn something here ❤

    • @LittleCountryCabin
      @LittleCountryCabin  Місяць тому +1

      @jmkelly7710 Same hat too? That's funny😁. This was my first try, and overall I'm very pleased. One thing I try to remind others is that the Ekopel is an epoxy and not enamel, so precautions should be followed. We are happy with how the sink is holding up, but I don't set hot pots on or in it, and I don't clean my cast iron in the sink either. So far it's held up very well. Beginners luck maybe. Thank you so much for the great feedback and have a blessed evening ❤️

    you know it is dry when you can no longer smell it. when it stops smelling, you know all the gases are out. I did a bathtub in place with great results. the important part is the cleaning and prep work. I did my bathtub years ago and I did get some lumps here and there, but it wears just like the original. I will also add that you need not be afraid of using a grinder to bust the rust around the drain and other holes. Bondo is your friend around those holes.

    I am also looking into re enamelling some cast iron cooking pots. Have you done this before or is it something you need to send away for spraying/baking?

    • @LittleCountryCabin
      @LittleCountryCabin  Рік тому +1

      The sink was my first project to refinish. I wouldn’t advise trying to do cookware because the product is actually a very hard epoxy, not a true enamel. You could contact the manufacturer and get their advice. For cookware I would definitely look into having a professional do it. Thank you for the great feedback and have a blessed day❤️
