This video covers in detail how the door opening, closing and locking mechanism works within the door. If you are having problems entering the car then its well worth a watch. Also we strongly recommend spending a minute checking the movement of the trigger lever and if it is a little stiff you need to lubricate it to ensure you do not get locked out of your car in the future.
HELP, I CANNOT OPEN MY DOOR!
If you have shut the door and locked the car but then you cannot open it, this is usually due to the trigger lever within the handle becoming stuck inside the handle. This can happen over time as dirt enters the space between the trigger lever and handle. In addition the returning spring mechanism which pulls the lever back can become rusted and will not work correctly. Kevin shows you how to release the trigger lever bu applying oil and 'working' the lever until it springs back to its correct position. Once it has sprung back to this position you can open the door.
HOW TO MAINTAIN YOUR LOCKS
It is worth checking that the trigger levers on both handles are moving well. We recommend opening the door, removing the access grommet and with a torch try to spray oil onto the inside of the lock mechanism whilst pressing the trigger lever.

Another trick is, if you’re inside the car and the door handle won’t work (mine is stuck when I’m inside too) you can push the lock stick down, then pull it up and very quickly pull the door handle and that can help dislodge it.

Hi great video. Bit of a bother with our new figaro, seems that the lock spring itself is siezed internally in the door. I've removed the door card and can manually operate the rods and everything moves freely, but i cannot open the door. I've given her a blast of wd40, now ive got my fingers crossed. Any help would be great 👍

If you have removed the door card I assume you have the door open. I would recommend removing the door handle itself and giving it a good clean. @@kevinfagan7645 thanks for the reply, no the problem is that i cannot open the door from the inside or outside and have had to remove the door card from the inside of the car by brute force. I cannot remove the lock either without the door being open.

@@brendan5090 Oh wow I have never heard of anyone being able to remove the card with the door shut! If you email the club I may be able to find an exploded drawing of the door so you see what you need to do. [e-mail]
