Im so excited for fall! I will be teaching 3 kids, k, 2nd, and 4th, with a 1 year old running around. I loved the previous math but hated calendar everyday, and the lessons were so long, I'm glad you listened and made the lessons shorter while still keeping the fun! I am so excited for this! My daughter is just about to turn 4 and I have been counting down the days until she's ready to start homeschooling. We are finishing up the Pre-K Primer and the whole time she has asked for more "numbers" work, so I know she's going to have so much fun with this! I'm really glad it's more simplified now, so it'll be easier for a newly turned 4 year old to have the attention span for it all And for the record, we are a secular homeschool, but this curriculum looked too good to pass up! We just teach the morals and it gives us a chance to discuss how people have different religions with her. So any other secular families out there, this can all definitely work for everyone and it is so worth it

We did Level K last year, it was a nice Curriculum but it dragged out certain concepts. We skipped the calendar work, the hundreds charts, most of the games, the toothpick activities. I wasnot a big fan of the prep work with the old manipulative box! BUT after watching this video there is hope!! I L.O.V.E. the new set up. The quick easy access to the manipulatives & simple short lessons!! What a huge improvement. I will be buying for my next child❤
I agree. I really like the curriculum but my second born really did not like the repetitive things and she was easily distracted if I had to take a moment to gather anything I didn’t already have prepared. I’m very excited for a simplified course!

I love it that kid heroes from Math K come from different countries. We usually take out the map and point to this place - this is a natural and effective way to learn geography as well!! Stories add so much meaning to Math, thank you for that!

As a mom with 4 kids under 8 years old I am so thankful for this curriculum we just started math k&2 and L.A. k &1 and patiently waiting for the new pre k. I have ADHD as well as at least one if not more of my kiddos I love how visually appealing these are! The language arts are beautiful and interesting our previous curriculum was dry and felt like such a chore this curriculum has reminded me that I love reading and has gotten me spending more joyful quality time with my children ❤
This curriculum has made a night and day difference in my daughter. The other curriculum we were using felt like pulling teeth. With this curriculum, she wants to do math first and most times will do two lessons a day!
How freaking exciting!! This is absolutely perfect! I tried the first math and as much as I wanted to be...I wasn’t a fan! This though, this is so exciting. I cannot wait to get the new math for my four who are school age! I love that the math box is wooden with a sliding lid, my children are hard on things and that box looks like it will stand up to them.

Wow! We are still working on finishing up math K and it is a lot but we have loved it! My daughter has learned so much and is confident. It still uses all learning styles and is packed with beauty and meaning. Games, activities, and stories are still included but not as often. The new approach will make homeschooling multiple children incredibly more easy and effective in a shorter amount of required parent time. Each lesson in Math 4 and above has an engaging video lesson averaging 10 minutes that the student watches. There is a portion of the video where the student is told to pause the video and do the Video Section portion of the lesson in the course book. The student then unpauses the video and sees if he or she got the work right. After watching the video lesson, there is a mini lesson in the course book that outlines briefly, clearly, and concisely the concepts taught. The student then does the lesson practice in the course book. The student can refer back to the video and/or the mini lesson when needed.
I personally am thankful for the original K math I have with my child. It took me forever to find I ever and we love it! I would not have used this one as my child would not thrive with it. I think this is awesome for those who like it, I just wish you had kept the other math too. Sadly I no longer feel I can recommend the math, especially for a child with special needs where as I highly recommended it to all as it was, I pray the day comes the old option would still be an option for families too. I hope this one goes well for those who choose it. Still love your curriculum overall and we continue with the original math we already have from you

I tried level k math with my daughter but only finished around half if it. It was lengthy and inconvenient. I really didn't expect to use TGATB Math anymore BUT the improvements look wonderful! Looks as if most of my complaints have been resolved. I may just have to reconsider my options lol

I know the focus right now is on the k-8 program but it’s so hard to find good high school materials because I feel like so many companies focus on elementary. We created a new math line because: 1) We have found it is not necessary to take 5-7 pages to teach every lesson and math concept like our original math does (even though it does it so well!). Our new approach is academically thorough but much more concise. It still uses all learning styles and is packed with beauty and meaning. Games, activities, and stories are still included but in less overwhelming and lengthy ways. The new approach will make homeschooling multiple children incredibly more easy and effective in a shorter amount of required parent time. 2) The large amount of moving parts and manipulatives in our original math makes it overwhelming for some families and hard to keep children’s focus as the parent searches for manipulatives, game instructions, place value charts, certain numbered cards, calendars, etc. Simply Good and Beautiful Math has fewer manipulatives, but uses them in very effective and fun ways, and the layout streamlines all instruction into one course book. 3) Our original math is our highest priced K-8 product and our lowest profitable product. It also takes up by far the most space in our warehouse and the most time from warehouse, purchasing, and inventory employees. It is not sustainable, and we determined we needed to discontinue the math in favor of a new, improved product or raise the price (which we know is already outside many family budgets) to $159 per math course set. This cost is not in line with our mission to make homeschooling affordable, but with Simply Good and Beautiful Math, we can offer an affordable, amazing math program for just $49.99 for each course!

I am currently on lesson 22 in the old math k curriculum which can be very long and cumbersome. So I am excited for this new simply math k. My question is, I don’t want to start my K over… can I pick up in this new curriculum where I left off from the old curriculum?
Hello Kimberly! Thank you for your interest! The scope of the Math courses have remained largely the same as our discontinued math, but the sequence and lessons vary. Not a single paragraph has remained the same in Simply Good and Beautiful Math. As the scope is largely the same, after students have completed a level, they can transition between the discontinued math to Simply Good and Beautiful Math with ease. If you wish to switch over before your child has completed the course, because the sequence has changed, we recommend starting again from the beginning of the course. You can use lessons that your child has mastered as a nice review or choose to skip them. Our development process incorporates numerous math experts to ensure the highest academic standards. Hello! I have a few questions. My almost four year old started the level k primer a month ago. And it says she will learn numbers 1-15. So my question is when do I start the math k level? Is it after the level k book? What do I need to teach her the one hundreds chart? Some of these questions are silly but this is my first time teaching my daughter and I want to make sure im prepared. 🙂 And in which book will she learn how to add?
Hello Daysi! We highly recommend using the provided assessment to see what best fits your child's needs and if he or she is ready to begin Simply Good and Beautiful Math Level K. There is no need to do the Math K until after the Pre-K course is completed. However, every child is different and we encourage you to make your best judgement on what you think would be best for your child. Most children start the Pre-K course at the age of 3 or 4. However, we strongly recommend not moving the child through the course too quickly. Some children, especially younger children, will need to move slower than others. Be sure to check out the extensive sample pages on our website to get a good feel for each course! Yes, Katelyn! The Math K course does include lessons for children to practice writing numbers, beginning with the first lesson. If your child is ready to begin writing numbers and is otherwise ready to begin Math K you could begin this course! For additional writing practice, check out the Level K Handwriting Notebook, which includes both letters and numbers, and is available as a PDF or a physical copy.

We love TGTB curriculum and can't wait to use Simply Good and Beautiful Math!! One question my kiddos have repeatedly is: why was this binding style chosen rather than a continuous spiral? I have a kiddo that likes to close the course book at the end of each lesson and gets frustrated with the stopped edge. Especially as the year goes on and her covers start come out or to rip at the binding despite her best efforts to be careful. 💖

Does the new math line up with the old math? I have a child who did the old math 1 and a child who did the old math 3. Do I just move them on to math 2 and math 4 if they passed those courses? Also, I have a daughter Kindergarten age. Is the kindergarten level good to just jump straight into even if she hasn’t learned any math previously?

If your child completed a current math level, he or she can move into the next level of our Simply Good and Beautiful Math program. For example, when your child completes The Good and the Beautiful Math 1, he or she can begin Simply Good and Beautiful Math Level 2.
While Simply Good and Beautiful Math contains the highest academic standards, it more closely follows grade levels and is not considered advanced. Please visit our Simply Good and Beautiful Math product page and click on the blue box labeled "Math Placement Test." For most children, we suggest that they start on their grade level, unless they are behind in math or advanced. I am so excited!! I started homeschooling last year and found TGATB right away. Love the curriculum and my kids do as well! I like the math but I wasn't a huge fan if all the stuff and how long it took, so seeing this I'm really excited about it!!!❤🙌
Wow! We are still working on finishing up math K and it is a lot but we have loved it! My daughter has learned so much and is confident. I like the simple box with only a few items compared to what we are using now but all of it was helpful. I can't wait to try out grade one when it gets released!! It still uses all learning styles and is packed with beauty and meaning. Games, activities, and stories are still included but not as often. The new approach will make homeschooling multiple children incredibly more easy and effective in a shorter amount of required parent time.
Each lesson in Math 4 and above has an engaging video lesson averaging 10 minutes that the student watches. There is a portion of the video where the student is told to pause the video and do the Video Section portion of the lesson in the course book. The student then unpauses the video and sees if he or she got the work right. After watching the video lesson, there is a mini lesson in the course book that outlines briefly, clearly, and concisely the concepts taught. The student then does the lesson practice in the course book. The student can refer back to the video and/or the mini lesson when needed.
I'm actually counting down the days till the release😂😂. I think I'm more excited than my kindergartner.🤦♀️

I personally am thankful for the original K math I have with my child. It took me forever to find I ever and we love it! I would not have used this one as my child would not thrive with it. I think this is awesome for those who like it, I just wish you had kept the other math too. Sadly I no longer feel I can recommend the math, especially for a child with special needs where as I highly recommended it to all as it was, I pray the day comes the old option would still be an option for families too. I hope this one goes well for those who choose it. Still love your curriculum overall and we continue with the original math we already have from you

This looks amazing. My husband and I have been prayerfully consider it homeschooling our children this coming year. Our oldest is going into 1st grade. It looks like he knows the things you went over in this video. I should start him with level 1? I know sometimes levels do not indicate grade.

I tried level k math with my daughter but only finished around half if it. It was lengthy and inconvenient. I really didn't expect to use TGATB Math anymore BUT the improvements look wonderful! Looks as if most of my complaints have been resolved. I may just have to reconsider my options lol

I know the focus right now is on the k-8 program but it’s so hard to find good high school materials because I feel like so many companies focus on elementary. Hi Christa! Thank you for your question! We created a new math line because:
1) We have found it is not necessary to take 5-7 pages to teach every lesson and math concept like our original math does (even though it does it so well!). Our new approach is academically thorough but much more concise. It still uses all learning styles and is packed with beauty and meaning. Games, activities, and stories are still included but in less overwhelming and lengthy ways. The new approach will make homeschooling multiple children incredibly more easy and effective in a shorter amount of required parent time.
2) The large amount of moving parts and manipulatives in our original math makes it overwhelming for some families and hard to keep children’s focus as the parent searches for manipulatives, game instructions, place value charts, certain numbered cards, calendars, etc. Simply Good and Beautiful Math has fewer manipulatives, but uses them in very effective and fun ways, and the layout streamlines all instruction into one course book.
3) Our original math is our highest priced K-8 product and our lowest profitable product. It also takes up by far the most space in our warehouse and the most time from warehouse, purchasing, and inventory employees. It is not sustainable, and we determined we needed to discontinue the math in favor of a new, improved product or raise the price (which we know is already outside many family budgets) to $159 per math course set. This cost is not in line with our mission to make homeschooling affordable, but with Simply Good and Beautiful Math, we can offer an affordable, amazing math program for just $49.99 for each course!

Would you say there is a lot of “story” in this? I’m so excited to use LA GATB for the first time for my 1st grader. But I definitely like math to be math as much as possible without too much story.

I am currently on lesson 22 in the old math k curriculum which can be very long and cumbersome. So I am excited for this new simply math k. My question is, I don’t want to start my K over… can I pick up in this new curriculum where I left off from the old curriculum?
Hello Kimberly! Thank you for your interest! The scope of the Math courses have remained largely the same as our discontinued math, but the sequence and lessons vary. Not a single paragraph has remained the same in Simply Good and Beautiful Math. As the scope is largely the same, after students have completed a level, they can transition between the discontinued math to Simply Good and Beautiful Math with ease. If you wish to switch over before your child has completed the course, because the sequence has changed, we recommend starting again from the beginning of the course. You can use lessons that your child has mastered as a nice review or choose to skip them. Our development process incorporates numerous math experts to ensure the highest academic standards. Hello! I have a few questions. My almost four year old started the level k primer a month ago. And it says she will learn numbers 1-15. So my question is when do I start the math k level? Is it after the level k book? What do I need to teach her the one hundreds chart?
Some of these questions are silly but this is my first time teaching my daughter and I want to make sure im prepared. 🙂

Hello Daysi! We highly recommend using the provided assessment to see what best fits your child's needs and if he or she is ready to begin Simply Good and Beautiful Math Level K. There is no need to do the Math K until after the Pre-K course is completed. However, every child is different and we encourage you to make your best judgement on what you think would be best for your child. Most children start the Pre-K course at the age of 3 or 4. However, we strongly recommend not moving the child through the course too quickly. Some children, especially younger children, will need to move slower than others. Be sure to check out the extensive sample pages on our website to get a good feel for each course! This looks great! My preschooler is almost ready for this. Does the course teach students how to write numbers or does the student need to know how to writer their numbers already?
Yes, Katelyn! The Math K course does include lessons for children to practice writing numbers, beginning with the first lesson. If your child is ready to begin writing numbers and is otherwise ready to begin Math K you could begin this course! For additional writing practice, check out the Level K Handwriting Notebook, which includes both letters and numbers, and is available as a PDF or a physical copy.

One question my kiddos have repeatedly is: why was this binding style chosen rather than a continuous spiral?
I have a kiddo that likes to close the course book at the end of each lesson and gets frustrated with the stopped edge. Especially as the year goes on and her covers start come out or to rip at the binding despite her best efforts to be careful.

Does the new math line up with the old math? I have a child who did the old math 1 and a child who did the old math 3. Do I just move them on to math 2 and math 4 if they passed those courses? Also, I have a daughter Kindergarten age. Is the kindergarten level good to just jump straight into even if she hasn’t learned any math previously?
Hello Karen! Yes! The scope for our math courses has remained largely the same. If your child completed a current math level, he or she can move into the next level of our Simply Good and Beautiful Math program. For example, when your child completes The Good and the Beautiful Math 1, he or she can begin Simply Good and Beautiful Math Level 2.
While Simply Good and Beautiful Math contains the highest academic standards, it more closely follows grade levels and is not considered advanced. Please visit our Simply Good and Beautiful Math product page and click on the blue box labeled "Math Placement Test." For most children, we suggest that they start on their grade level, unless they are behind in math or advanced. If they are advanced, they will naturally go through the lessons more quickly and move ahead without having any foundational holes.
