I have been shut out of most gear available to younger amps. It’s my new reality. I’m done with the hoop-jumping & game playing! Enough of my whining-it’s my new reality. I use a size 12 foot. I could be almost any size & any height!!! Give me a shout, man.. congrats on an awesome vid.

I appreciate the video, Garrette. Did you notice an increase in mobility with your Pro-Flex XC once you transitioned to suction/pin suspension? I have the Pro-Flex w/ pin and I'm considering the AllPro to improve the activity range #LBKA
For day-to-day, I've loved the Pro-Flex, but I wouldn't ever play basketball in it. For that, the All Pro was great. I still love the All Pro, but living in a colder climate, the Pro-Flex is a better balance of comfort and being able to wear pants. :)
Hope you are well. I am in the process of getting the Versa Foot 2, wanted to see if you could do an "on foot" review. I'll be using this foot for the high impact sports, but also on construction sites. I will more than likely have the Ottobock Empower as a daily, and the VF2 as my "tough foot".
Lbk 40 years now. I have a viscous ball for torque, and a multi axis ankle. Carbon fibre foot, split toe. Socket is fibre glass with an ACL generation 2 brace integrated into the socket. Insurance through work (retired now at 62) pays for everything. To be totally honest, socket design is the bane of my existence. Osteointegration just isn’t for me, esthetically ..I just can’t accept it and structurally , including load profiles, it just seems like bone failures could become the norm. Leakage around the connection on the distal end of the residual limb would be unacceptable in intimate situations. I apologize to anyone who feels otherwise. Again, some sort of pneumatic or liquid filled liner adapting dynamically to changes in weight and/ or residual limb variations in dimensions would make it a perfect socket fit and would be golden to me!
Your videos are definitely helpful and informative, but there are random noises which frankly, startle me into looking around to see if they're coming from another room in my house. This noise was at 7:44.

Hey/ there, this is a great source of information and advice. I had some questions about what options for my passion, which I have feared to do without, being an a avid dancer and soccer was what I loved most. It has been an humbling experience being a new bellow knee unilateral a amputee. Since August 2020 I had been thinking of all the difficulties that a single prosthesis would solve once I'dbe ready for my 1st one. I have to admit that all this time of brainstorming how different it will all be,I think that even the most simple tasks that you've just pointed out did not even cross my mind. Thanks for all your help with this series of videos.

I don't ride motorcycles, but i did sit on a friend's once to see if/how shifting could work. The short version is that while it may be doable, it was incredibly difficult. From talking to other folks and doing some casual research, most left-leg amputees seem to have modifications done to either have a hand clutch installed or have it re-routed to the other side.

I am thinking about a K3 level foot, I was working as a response officer, I am thinking that K3 is the one and I need to know the actual cost of a foot like that
I'll be heading into my final leg process in about a month, I had my BKA 7 months ago, they are talking about the pin lock with an articulating ankle which will have bump stops to allow for forward deflection and leaning from side to side to help if you have to go up a ramp sideways type thing and leaning, I don't have diabetes but do have stenosis in my lower legs to deal with and that has been the main challenge. I think the amazing part is you can pay 500 for a foot up to 35 to 40 thousand just for a foot, thankfully I live in Canada with awesome medical benefits that cover my home modifications, electric wheelchair and prosthetics and everything else, thank you for your input on the topic of feet.
Sadly Nike would only do that program in the UK 😥 I got a very similar foot to that with the nike sole and I always wear it. It’s the best substitute for a real foot I ever had so far 😌
Like most things with prosthetics, there's no best foot for everyone. That said, I'd probably start with feet that have some horizontal torsion/twisting capability. With Basketball, that's definitely helped make some of those similar movements more comfortable.

I think the comfort depends on the size. The larger one is lkely "softer" because it has more flex in it. (I have the large one at 12") From talking to my prosthetist 10" is good too, but the smaller two at 6" and 8" are *very* different and much more rigid. My current foot, the Ossur Pro Flex XC Torsion has been great. It's by far been my favorite all-around foot and allows for a little rotation that's subtle but makes a huge difference.
It's definitely become more comfortable over time, and it always ebbs and flows. Each new socket and/or leg takes a month or two to get used to as well. Everything from shoes to volume changes in your residual limb can throw you off. And for some people, limb shape can be problematic. Ultimately, for me, it's comfortable, and I don't mind it all. It takes time, but it should eventually get there.
Like most feet, it seems like it really boils down to personal preference. I tried one very briefly with my first foot, but at that point, it was all so new, I wasn't sure what I was looking for and thus don't have a very useful opinion. Talking to folks who do use them, my impression has been that they have a very smooth rollover/toe-off but a litle less energy return/spring as a result. They've definitely always been on my radar, but for various reasons unrelated to the foot, I haven't tried once since being familiar enough to have an opinion about them.
I'd say more or less right away? The first year with a prosthetic, the length of time wearing it slowly increases, but there was never a time where I didn't feel like walking safely was an issue. All subsequent feet, once they were dialed in, I felt really comfortable running, walking on uneven ground, etc. I'd say it takes a little time to be familiar with their sweet spots for walking on uneven ground, but only a day or two.
None of them. That much water on a regular basis wouldn't be good for any of them, and if you're wearing a leg, you can't clean your residual limb. I've always used some kind of shower chair or bench.
