I'm trying to figure out what type of prosthetic to get, I started off with the vacuum system. About rbka with no use of my right hand and it was hard dealing with the outer liner cover I switched to the pin system but sometimes the pin pine doesn't line up
Love you! Ty so so much! So informative and I appreciate all of it! I've been amputee since Nov. 2021 it took 10 mins plus to heal. I used knee scooters and an I-Walk throughout healing, 1st prosthetic device I rcvd end of January 2023. Just had another socket few months ago. I know I like prostethis guy a lot but he explains absolutely nothing or when I ask questions he does not answer instead asks me y I need to know. I bite my tongue just to get along and not cause a problem. I am almost to the point of finding someone else?! It's that upsetting to me ! I wish there was more of a chose on where I could go but there's not a lot around here. Live on 180+ acres w/ cattle I walk 20,000 + steps daily. And i try and research different options to make life almost normal again. It has not been easy doing this on my own. This is the 1st explanation of different options that I've seen. I am overly excited over this video and the new found knowledge I now ty so much , oh yes and I've subscribed to you😁 I sure wish you were in Missouri ! I would make an appt 1st thing Monday morning 😊
I weigh 220, stand 5’10” and am 76. My weight of the foot my Prothesis co. Wanted me to learn to walk with as just too Heavy! Would a SACH work . To get me up out of wheelchair? Balance? I was very active before but for 3 years have had 13 surgeries and finally amputation and an additional revision to amputate
I just got a prototype prosthetic leg to use before I get my permanent one. are you supposed to feel pressure on the lower inside of your knee when you use it? sometimes I feel pressure & if I use it for a little bit it starts to feel like pain. also, I can feel it hyperextend my knee at times.
i am 65 with MS and I am an amputee due to trauma .. however i received a sach ankle and it is not for me , i cannot function and ue to the ms i do "sway" while standinf which seems to fall on deaf ears .. i was told insurance would never have approved a moving ankle , but that makes no sense .. i feel clumsy and no one is listening
I do not have Ms but I do feel your pain your going I get same responses from my clinician guy also. Now my insurance says they'll cover what my Dr puts in for , which is nice to know. So I get that prescription from my Dr B4 my last appt with prosthetics guy and he says no , insurance won't do it . And I was dumbstruck could not believe he wasn't and did not even try. Wow I believe it's time to find another clinic that'll better accommodate me . I also have a sach foot and I hate it it takes a lot of work to maneuver. Enough about me I'm just saying I am so grateful for informative video! Don't give up trying and keep your head , I know it's hard esp if you are in a rural area as I am. I'm saying a prayer for you and wish u best of luck? ❤️
