Couldn't agree more with the comment about not needing to carry the latest phone. I rocked my iPhone XR up until mid last year and bought my mother-in-laws iPhone 12 Pro from her for $200. I don't see any value upgrading every year, but that's just my opinion.

I have small Inkosi (slightly shorter but more stout version of small Sebenza) and had the same feeling towards its action. However, the action saw quite a drastic improvement after disassembling it and applied a silicon grease to the divots of its bronze washers. It is not to the extent of the actions of ball bearing pivots like the presented Vosteed Corgi, but a clear difference. Low viscosity lubricants does not work well with washers but high viscosity lubricants like the silicon grease work well. You can sell the Sebenza at any time but I think it is worth trying.

Think you’ve got it spot on there, EDC isn’t about carrying the latest or most expensive gear or carrying stuff because it’s in vogue and that’s what everyone else is carrying. It’s about curating a set of pieces that are meaningful to you and that you enjoy carrying or using, some stuff might be premium and very sentimental others might be budget because they do a great job and you like them 👍

advice on the CRK. Don't sell it, use it every day. Play with it until the bearing and blade starts to ''match'' in the beginning I also didn't like my Sebenza but at this stage I own 14 CRK's. The Sebenza needs a braking in period, Its not a knife on bearing and never will be. its not intended to be a low drag high speed tactical knife ish knife. no its a simple tool made very good

I've owned kaweko pens for a long time. They're really good in terms of ink, writing experience, etc. where they really fall short is the construction. They break a lot easier than more premium pens, but thats how they make them affordable, and they're still a very good value pen.

I stopped buying a new phone every year when they become $1000+ investments with not much improvement for the average person between model upgrades. I have an iPhone 11 Pro Max 256gb phone and I plan to keep it until it doesn’t work anymore or until fixing it costs more than a new phone. I’m also planning to go smaller if possible with just the Pro model since I use my iPad mini for things that need a bigger screen but don’t need a laptop. Great video. Thank you.

Another great video, Marcus. Have you spent a lot of time breaking in the Sebenza? Mine was stiff when I first got it, but it broke in after some time and now snaps open nicely. Knives are VERY MUCH a "your mileage may vary" tool though, so ultimately, pick one that you love and you'll never be sorry carrying it. If I could recommend another premium knife to you, try a Vero if you can get your hands on one. They are my favorite knives, hands down. Love the content you make and your insight is always appreciated!

Love your channel. The quality of the videos-the way they are shot and presented-is really excellent. Being a lefty, I wish I could use a fountain pen more frequently. But you’ve convinced me to buy one when I sign my name on work letters. I’m always unhappy using any old pen to sign my name for some reason. So I’m trying the $20 pen you recommended. I totally agree re not needing to spend $12,000 to get an incredible watch. I have a handful of, gulp, Chinese clones that totally rock for the $$. But I just can’t get behind saying that a Tag, any Tag, gets you 99% of the way to a submariner. You are talking about comparing one of the most iconic watches in history with a Tag.

Nice edc pocket dump. This looks very simular to my edc. I always carry a pocket knife, fountain pen and cell phone. I have several montblanc pens plus a bunch of other fountain pen. Another fountain pen to consider for edc is TWSBI. they aren't to expensive and tend to survive getting bumped around a little bit.
I'm still waiting to get a Rolex.... It's a long wait lol.
One thing I have added to my edc is a small pocket notebook. I find if I write things down I remember them better than just putting in my phone.

Hi Marcus, recent follower of your channel, I really enjoy your presentation style. I was wondering if you think it would be a worthwhile video to talk about the Nite Ize S-biners in more detail? I recently got the #2 S-biner to clip my keyring and Victorinox MiniChamp to my belt loop. I'm finding it a bit small and fiddly, do you have a particular size you would recommend for that sort of thing? I'm also waiting for an Olight I1R 2 Pro to arrive that will also go on this clip, so I'm wondering if I sized incorrectly.

I have some benchmade (bugout, griptilian) and spyderco (para3 and para 3 lightweight) knives and this exact same model CRK small sebenza in s45vn steel. Its a totally different beast to other premium knives. Its not a knife that flicks open or is flashy in any sense. Instead it is just one of the best knifes in terms of value for money. Its an excellent design, built with phenomenal fit and finish and a top tier blade geometry. There are short documentaries on UA-cam in which Chris Reeve talks about his approach. Watch it and you will not only keep the knife but also beat the living shit out of it.
