@@zarafex-0923 It is because recently the Chinese video game community is in shitstorm. The conflicts along players with different preferences. It is because long time ago, Mihoyo claimed their games are otaku-oriented, but it caused a great boom. Therefore, it made a lot of people to play it. And it lead a lot of game devs to make such games like the "Gold Rush".
However, after the market of otaku-oriented games is saturated. Those game devs and their stockholders (including Mihoyo) thought that they should expand their player base from otakus to others. Therefore, they mutated their games into something other than pleasing the otakus, such as releasing more male characters than women, and build up fandom for the games like cults, hire some third-rated fanfic writers to compose crappy stories, and handle suggestions and complains in perfunctory attitude.
That raised the great dissatisfactions among the otaku players against those games because those games betrayed their original intention, and felt the game devs treat them like ATM, so they launched boycott actions against those games.
And then Snowbreak's devs grasp the chance by declaring their game will be loyal to the otaku players. After that, Snowbreak's download numbers and microtransactions skyrocketed overwhelmingly in a short period of time.
Glad to see HOTTA decided what ToF should be rather than following Genshin Impact's footsteps. It's because I see there are far more female characters than male since 3.0.
